The place Optimus drove to was Emerald Coast. Everyone had gone home for the evening, which was a pity, because the sunset was gorgeous. Optimus had transformed so he could see the sunset with his own optics. He sat down on the sand and watched as the sun painted a display of purple, yellow, red, and orange. As he gazed, he imagined himself on the roof of the Iacon Hall of Records with Elita 1. She hated being called by her real name, Ariel, so she and her sister followed their uncle\u2019s footsteps, name-wise. In Optimus\u2019 daydream, he was back to being Orion Pax. He and Elita were gazing lovingly at each other and were slowly leaning towards each other. They were about to kiss when an alarm blared and Orion Pax quickly became Optimus Prime again, albeit a startled Optimus Prime. \u201cWho\u2019s there?!\u201d he demanded as he drew his gun. He then heard laughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMan,\u201d giggled the laughter\u2019s source, \u201cI can only imagine what your face looked like!\u201d Optimus blinked, then put his hand to the side of his head as if he were using his comms unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat the heck, Teletraan?!\u201d he snapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour daydream was too good!\u201d laughed Teletraan. \u201cI had to do it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWas there a reason you called,\u201d asked Optimus, \u201cor were you just trying to give me a spark attack?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell,\u201d replied Teletraan, \u201cyes, actually. A ship has entered Mobius\u2019 orbit. It\u2019s starting its landing cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Harbinger<\/em>?\u201d quizzed Optimus. \u201cAlready?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEr, no,\u201d corrected Teletraan. \u201cIn fact, it\u2019s not a Decepticon ship. It\u2019s one of the newer Autobot warships.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat?!\u201d yelped Optimus. “Who authorized it to come here? I didn\u2019t ask for reinforcements!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou didn\u2019t, but, if things do check out, the Council sent it,\u201d reported Teletraan. \u201cThe rest of the team is already at the landing site.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBridge me there, now,\u201d ordered Optimus. The Ground Bridge opened and Optimus transformed back into vehicle mode and sped into it. He emerged in a grassy area to see the team, Sonic, and Amy already there. \u201cRatchet, what have we got?\u201d asked Optimus as the ship extended its landing struts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s the new Vanguard<\/em>-class Deep Space Interceptor,\u201d answered Ratchet. \u201cBuilt for speed and is heavily armed with sixteen port-side particle combustion cannons, sixteen starboard laser emitters, a primary star-field missile launcher, and an Overshock sonic battery. Its full crew compliment is 300 but can be piloted with a scratch crew of eight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTeletraan,\u201d directed Optimus, \u201cidentify the bots on board.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, Optimus, here\u2019s the thing,\u201d muttered Teletraan, \u201cI\u2019ve only got two spark signatures on board. One of them is some bot called Prowl, the other, I don\u2019t have a match for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOnly two?!\u201d yelped Optimus. \u201cA scratch crew of eight is stretching it, but two?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHold on, Teletraan, did you say Prowl?\u201d asked Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI did,\u201d confirmed Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSomeone you know?\u201d quizzed Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe\u2019s head of Praxian Law Enforcement on Cybertron,\u201d answered Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd he\u2019s here because\u2026?\u201d inquired Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re about to find out,\u201d called Ironhide. The entrance ramp lowered and revealed a figure inside. The figure stepped down the ramp to reveal Captain Prowl of the Elite Guard: Praxian Law Enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCaptain Prowl, reporting for duty, Sir!\u201d barked Prowl as he saluted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAt ease, Captain,\u201d directed Optimus. \u201cWhat brings you and your compatriot here?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, Sir,\u201d answered Prowl, \u201cthe Council sent me here because the Space Bridge we had didn\u2019t work properly, like someone sabotaged it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNot really reassuring,\u201d remarked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe ship also served as one that could overtake the Harbinger<\/em>,\u201d continued Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOvertake it?\u201d asked Optimus. \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you ask it to heave to?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBecause I was just sent here to tell you that the ship has escaped Decepticon prisoners on board, not the Throttlebots as originally thought,\u201d reported Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHA!\u201d cheered Ironhide. He turned to Ratchet. \u201cAnd you owe me some Shanix!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOh no!\u201d sighed Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHow did they get out of the Stockade?!\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJudging from the Spark signature,\u201d remembered Prowl, \u201can Autobot got them out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAn Autobot did what?!\u201d yelped Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat was 20 mega cycles of my life alone putting each of them in their cells!\u201d shouted Ironhide. \u201cThat glitch spawn!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPossibly the rest of it, if the Decepticons are gonna start the fight again,\u201d supplied Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs if we don\u2019t have enough Decepticon problems as it is!\u201d wailed Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWait, what?\u201d quizzed Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShockwave survived the raid of her Earth lab,\u201d replied Optimus. Prowl tensed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEr, Prowl,\u201d gulped Jazz, \u201cany history you wanna share?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShockwave ran a Praxian internment camp I was in,\u201d answered Prowl. \u201cI thought Megatronus killed her! A shot to the head usually does that!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSave your anger for when we actually meet her,\u201d directed Optimus. \u201cIn the meantime, you and your travel buddy need to scan a new vehicle mode. I\u2019ll clear this landing incident with the government and\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTravel buddy?\u201d asked Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYeah,\u201d confirmed Optimus, confused at Prowl\u2019s reaction, \u201cthe other bot on board.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat other bot?\u201d quizzed Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe found two spark signatures on board,\u201d reported Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cImpossible, I was the only one on board,\u201d dismissed Prowl. \u201cThe Council put in a computer program that took over the whole ship and flew me here. It fragmented beyond repair and so I deleted it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen, who\u2019s the\u2026?\u201d Optimus asked before something came through the hull from the inside and ran away. \u201cHey! That\u2019s a new ship, buddy!\u201d shouted Optimus. The creature didn\u2019t listen as it ran away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYet another problem,\u201d sighed Cliffjumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOn top of getting a new vehicle mode for Prowl,\u201d remarked Optimus. \u201cOn that note, Prowl, we\u2019re using extreme cover on account of there being too much Energon here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHow?!\u201d asked Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDon\u2019t look at me!\u201d protested Optimus. \u201cWe\u2019re still trying to figure that out!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019ll brief you on our situation when we get to base,\u201d assured Ratchet. Optimus commed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBase, requesting Ground Bridge,\u201d he commanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnderstood, Sir,\u201d replied Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIs someone at the base?\u201d asked Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHey! Hello!\u201d called Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe isn\u2019t connected,\u201d sighed Optimus, \u201che can\u2019t hear you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cActually, yes I can,\u201d countered Prowl. \u201cWho are you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI think you knew me by my project name,\u201d chuckled Teletraan, \u201cProject: Battle brain?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c…You do know that the A.I. was declared unstable?!\u201d yelped Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYour face is unstable!\u201d snapped Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026Wow Op, really?\u201d asked Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSadly, that was the best he could give at an awkward moment,\u201d sighed Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShut it, and bridge the nine of us back,\u201d hissed Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNine?\u201d repeated Prowl. \u201cYou mean these two met you guys before?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMobius\u2019 news people caught us and did their job,\u201d replied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAn entire planet knows about us?!\u201d shouted Prowl. \u201cArticle 9, Section 6, Subsection 31 of the Pax Cybertronia states\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI know we\u2019re supposed to be robots in disguise!\u201d snapped Optimus. \u201cHowever, if we didn\u2019t let the world know we\u2019re here, we may be mistaken for their local enemy. A man named Dr. Eggman has discovered how T-cogs function and is digging up the resting places of the fallen soldiers here. He has an empire of robots and people are antsy about us as it is. Hence why we have a liaison with the government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd you believe these people can offer anything to us?\u201d asked Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell,\u201d replied Optimus, \u201cSonic here can run at speeds capable of breaking the sound barrier and Amy can magically summon an oversized hammer out of nowhere. And that\u2019s just a small percentage of the super powered people here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell,\u201d mused Prowl, \u201cthat\u2019s\u2026enlightening. \u2026To base then?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBridge is right behind you guys,\u201d directed Teletraan. \u201cBy the way, I call being Ship-board A.I.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDibs on being the captain,\u201d called Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat?\u201d yelped Prowl. \u201cYou can\u2019t call dibs on a Naval position!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSure I can,\u201d argued Optimus. \u201cDibs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou really are a child,\u201d muttered Prowl. The Autobots, Sonic, and Amy went through the portal. Once it shut, the figure from the ship tapped its foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe curse of deep cover,\u201d the figure sighed in an alto voice.
