\u201cHad no idea there were four Chaos Emeralds,\u201d interrupted Teletraan. \u201cWhile I couldn\u2019t intercept her Ground Bridge, I did get into her files.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026What?\u201d quizzed the young Prime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile I couldn\u2019t get the location of their base, I did find something that was the plan she wanted to initiate today,\u201d explained Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe and Metal Sonic were trying to build a mass reducer, a shrink ray, if you will. Clich\u00e9 though it is, she almost perfected it and wanted to test it on you guys. She has no means of detecting Chaos Emeralds. She was the one blindsided.\u201d Teletraan then chuckled. \u201cShouldn\u2019t be too hard for a Cyclops to be blindsided!\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnly something that would confirm our suspicions of her needing them as batteries for something,\u201d answered Teletraan. \u201cAnything from that, I don\u2019t know. G.U.N. DID discover something that made me recheck my knowledge on Metal Sonic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt looked like a previous body that Metal Sonic had,\u201d elaborated Teletraan. \u201cOn top of that, it\u2019s connected to other bodies. My guess is that the bodies have a hive mind, and that mind is Metal Sonic\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optimus had the Metal Sonic body taken down to the technical room, where all the various instruments to examine hardware and software was located and cracked said body open at the head. He had taken a probe and put it into the brain to start examining code on the screen next to him. While that was going in, he waved some sort of wand device with a green light and four prongs over it. When the analysis on the probe was finished, he flicked the wand in his hands and looked at it. \u201cAh HA!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat?\u201d asked Teletraan. \u201cWhat\u2019s it saying?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have no idea,\u201d replied Optimus. \u201cI\u2019m just waving my sonic screwdriver around it as if I knew how it worked.\u201d Teletraan\u2019s avatar facepalmed. \u201cBut,\u201d continued Optimus, \u201cI knew what I was doing with this probe. Your suspicions were right, Metal Sonic\u2019s a hive mind like Ultron. However, there was something interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI just ran through the results of the probe,\u201d reported Teletraan. \u201cIt looks like their power source is different from conventional power sources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRun it by power frequencies we\u2019ve encountered,\u201d directed Optimus. Teletraan\u2019s eyes turned into code for a few seconds, a la The Matrix trilogy, before his face showed surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs that\u2026Chaos energy?\u201d he gulped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExactly,\u201d confirmed Optimus. \u201cThese guys are practically saturated with the stuff. But, it\u2019s their connection to our own race that interests me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur own race?\u201d repeated Teletraan. \u201cHow? They can\u2019t transform. They don\u2019t even have t-cogs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot the connection I was referring to,\u201d answered Optimus. \u201cI was thinking about our fuel source.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe only one who runs on Energon out of the two of them is Shockwave,\u201d recalled Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReally?\u201d asked Optimus. \u201cRun a match on usual Energon with the stuff found on Mobius.\u201d Teletraan blinked, then did so. The results were similar, but not exact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat?\u201d muttered Teletraan. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t make sense. It should have stayed the same. Same planet, same readings. I\u2019ve even run them past Energon found during the old Earth Days. It should be consistent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh,\u201d interjected Optimus, \u201cbut there were no Chaos Emeralds in that era, were there?\u201d Teletraan got the idea and ran a simulation of exposing Energon to Chaos energy. That\u2019s when the readings changed to match that of Modern day Mobius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, that\u2019s why you guys short out!\u201d realized Teletraan. \u201cChaos energy supercharged the Energon deposits left on the planet after the war was over!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd there\u2019s a mechanism in this body that takes in Chaos energy in the atmosphere,\u201d continued Optimus. \u201cI\u2019d say some particles of Energon are wandering inside Metal Sonic as he fuels up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWill that make him a big enough threat?\u201d asked Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think so,\u201d mused Optimus. \u201cIt\u2019s the amount of bodies Metal Sonic has that concerns me. A durability test shows that the bodies aren\u2019t that strong, so we won\u2019t have a problem crushing them individually. It\u2019s when he decides to attack en masse that has me on edge. Teletraan, I want you to start adjusting our Energon sensors on all our equipment. Coordinate with Ratchet on that department and see if you can get Energon sensors on both Arks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGot it,\u201d confirmed Teletraan. \u201cAn idea just came to me. An alternative method is to track Energon signatures. Spark signatures can be hidden, but the radiation you guys put out has yet to be cloaked. If we use Energon signatures\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe can locate Shockwave! Good call!\u201d praised Optimus. \u201cIn the words of a great man, make it so!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
