She then scooped up the Egg-pawn and held it close to her face. \u201cYour master\u2019s constant interruptions are setting whatever ideas I have back. He may need his own Transformers, but he can\u2019t get them without my help. If there\u2019s an update, I will be the one to inform him\u2026personally. Now, get out!\u201d She threw the Egg-pawn out and shut the door. She then sighed, chiding herself over letting her anger dictate what to say. As she was burying her emotions again, the comms channel beeped. Shockwave tensed up, about to snarl, then calmed down and took the call. \u201cYes?\u201d she sighed. Eggman and Metal Sonic popped up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMetal, what is so important that you have to call us both at the same time?!\u201d snarled Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI just got through telling Eggman\u2019s messenger that the interruptions I\u2019m getting are setting us back and I would inform Eggman of any progress when it comes, not a moment sooner,\u201d supplied Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, I think I may help in the way of progress,\u201d replied Metal Sonic. \u201cOur dig for Energon has uncovered a Decepticon ship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAre you sure it\u2019s a Decepticon ship?\u201d inquired Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSee for yourself,\u201d answered Metal Sonic. He moved aside to reveal a giant version of the insignia on her shoulders, three times the size of the Ark<\/em>. Shockwave stood up, amazed at the find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cA D<\/em>-Class Worldsweeper!\u201d she breathed. \u201cJudging by the point of the bow, I\u2019d say it\u2019s a P-6 Model! They were the most powerful warships of the Decepticon Empire! I think the reason why the grunts\u2019 nickname for that kind of ship is \u2018Symbol Ship\u2019 should be obvious. I commanded one back in the war.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThink this is it?\u201d asked Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMaybe,\u201d mused Shockwave. \u201cBut, I wouldn\u2019t bet on it. While I was stationed here, the Autobots destroyed it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHow so?\u201d quizzed Metal Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCalling Dr. Eggman,\u201d reported a robot\u2019s voice. \u201cThis is Flunky 2297, reporting in from inside the ship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGo ahead,\u201d answered Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have entered the ship in two bot teams, per Metal Sonic\u2019s instructions,\u201d replied Flunky 2297. \u201cLackey 0234 and I are patrolling the starboard halls right now. I gotta tell you, I\u2019ve always dreamed of captaining my own starship, going above all the other Navy style bots. I\u2019d have called it something noble and majestic, like Mega Starpuncher<\/em> or Mighty Spaceship<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is Lackey 0234,\u201d called another voice, sounding scared. \u201cWhile I will admit Mighty Spaceship <\/em>is the best name ever, I need my compatriot to shut up and look up. Cybertronians, I think, but not like Shockwave. It\u2019s like their torsos have just\u2026run out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHOLY\u2026!\u201d screamed a fourth voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMinion 5579? Is that you?\u201d yelped Lackey 0234. \u201cWhat is it?! Should I be running away?! And\u2026and these micro-fibrils look like they\u2019ve been designed to carry electrolytes and emulsifiers! The thing is, I think it has processing capacity! I think it\u2019s alive! Or, at least, it WAS. Now, since I\u2019m a military bot, I\u2019m not an expert in organics. However, I think it\u2019s some kind of epidermis. I\u2019m detecting traces of hemoglobin and Energon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMaybe that\u2019s why the ship crashed,\u201d mused Eggman. \u201cThe blood leaked into the Energon being used for the ship\u2019s fuel and contaminated it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAre you telling me that this ship bled to death?!\u201d protested Metal Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAll of those observations sound like my old experiments on my ship!\u201d replied Shockwave. \u201cStay put. Eggman and I are on the way.\u201d She activated a Ground Bridge and headed to the crash site. After her Ground Bridge closed, Eggman followed in his own, panting. His Egg-mobile wobbled before stopping to hover at Shockwave\u2019s eye level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCouldn\u2019t send one for me, could you?!\u201d he griped. They proceeded down the corridor with the brain covered ceiling and found themselves in a large room with a blue tube in the center and control panels around the tube at Transformer height. Other controls and screens lined the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMain Engineering, as you thought,\u201d confirmed Shockwave. \u201cLet\u2019s check the computer core from here.\u201d She fiddled with the controls and some sort of shape came up. It was made of rods and had 8 equilateral triangles making a diamond shape with a triangular pyramid on each face. The interior diamond was orange and the pyramids were red. One of the pyramids was missing a rod. \u201cI\u2026don\u2019t\u2026believe it! It IS my ship!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHow do you know?\u201d asked Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBecause this is the main brain for my ship\u2019s artificial intelligence!\u201d revealed Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI thought you had Sigma,\u201d recalled Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSigma is just a small portion of the a.i. here,\u201d elaborated Shockwave. \u201cShe\u2019s the main logic center. Speaking of which, Sigma, it\u2019s time. Transfer yourself to the old rod you inhabited.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTransferring now,\u201d droned Sigma. Soon, she was transferred to a red rod in Shockwave\u2019s arm. She then took it out and placed it where it connected all three sides of that pyramid to the diamond. Shockwave then put it into a slot and shut it, restoring power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAlchemax: online,\u201d reported a woman\u2019s voice. \u201cFull cognitive functions: restored. Awaiting commands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCompile a damage report,\u201d ordered Shockwave. She then looked around. \u201cAs if current conditions didn\u2019t speak for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCompiling,\u201d obliged Alchemax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEr, is this Alchemax person an a.i?\u201d asked Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe was constructed to be the Autobots\u2019 opposite to their failed Teletraan 1,\u201d replied Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFailed?\u201d repeated Metal Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, failed,\u201d confirmed Shockwave. \u201cAfter it was connected to various Autobots, the a.i. went insane.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI thought it was working fine,\u201d mused Metal. \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019ve been corrupting it over time.\u201d All noise stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026What\u2019s that supposed to mean?\u201d asked Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThey have a working a.i,\u201d explained Metal. \u201cYou knew that, right? How else could the Autobots beat us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe didn\u2019t know that!!!\u201d yelled Shockwave. \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you tell us?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYOU SPARK SHOWERING, TIN PLATED, SORRY EXCUSE OF A BADNIK I\u2019VE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO CREATE!\u201d roared Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHey, easy!\u201d protested Metal. \u201cHe\u2019s only now starting to show symptoms of a virus, the Autobots won\u2019t know what hit them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, we would have preferred if you told us about your plans,\u201d sighed Shockwave. \u201cIn the meantime, Alchemax\u2019s presence proves that this IS my ship, the Enigma<\/em>. The damage is less than it looks but is still quite severe. I would urge the selective use of Mobian technology. Retrofitting its operating systems would be more efficient than rebuilding from scratch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen do provide Metal Sonic with your wish-list,\u201d directed Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cME?!\u201d shouted Metal Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe stasis pods with the aborted protoforms will provide us with an army of Transformers,\u201d answered Shockwave. \u201cI must focus my attention to that while Eggman focuses his attention to detailing repair crews for the Enigma<\/em>. That leaves you in charge of acquisitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m a Combat Mechanoid, not a grocery shopper!\u201d protested Metal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI will have no arguments,\u201d dismissed Shockwave. \u201cGo.\u201d She then gave her attention to the console in front of her.
