The Ark<\/em> had its weapons primed as it moved on an intercept course to stop the Nemesis<\/em>. \u201cTime to intercept?\u201d called Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTwo minutes,\u201d reported Prowl. \u201cThe Nemesis<\/em> will enter Mobius\u2019 atmosphere in  ten.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPerfect, enough breathing room,\u201d replied Optimus. \u201cHail them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHailing frequencies open,\u201d confirmed Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is Optimus Prime,\u201d called Optimus. \u201cNemesis<\/em>, you are entering restricted space. Turn around immediately or we WILL open…\u201d Nemesis Prime\u2019s face filled the screen, interrupting Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will NOT stop!\u201d roared Nemesis. \u201cI will destroy you, your friends, and every single ally you\u2019ve ever had! I\u2019ll start with G.U.N!\u201d He terminated the call. Optimus activated the ship\u2019s comms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBridge to Engineering,\u201d he directed, \u201cI trust everything\u2019s shored up after the Battle of Five Ships? You know, the one where we almost got spanked by the Nemesis<\/em> and Scarship? Things didn\u2019t go well until the Dyno-bots saved our afts!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll taken care of, Sir!\u201d assured Perceptor. \u201cLight them up!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhich direction of us is the enemy coming from?\u201d requested Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStarboard,\u201d replied Prowl. \u201cAll starboard weapons ready.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFire at will!\u201d ordered Optimus. The starboard weapons fired, causing some damage to the Nemesis. \u201cThe frack?\u201d muttered Optimus. \u201cDon\u2019t they have shields?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey SHOULD,\u201d remarked Prowl, \u201cbut I\u2019m not getting any indication that they\u2019ve raised them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat gives?\u201d muttered Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis provides an opportunity,\u201d mused Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGot something in mind?\u201d quizzed Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWithout the shields, a strike team could get in,\u201d replied Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGot one in mind?\u201d inquired Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMyself, Chromia, and the Rust Renegades,\u201d answered Strongarm. \u201cWe storm the ship, take care of any defenses, and take the bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat about Nemesis Prime?\u201d asked Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s where Optimus comes in,\u201d replied Strongarm. \u201cSir, forgive me for saying this, but I kind of need you to keep him off our backs while Chromia gathers intel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNothing to forgive,\u201d assured Optimus. \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to face Nemesis again. Ultra Magnus, the bridge is yours. Teletraan, can you find an access point?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGot one right now,\u201d reported Teletraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeam us over,\u201d ordered Optimus. He, Chromia, Strongarm, and the Rust Renegades were beamed to the Nemesis<\/em> and fanned out within its halls. Chromia plugged into a computer terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReally?!\u201d protested Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need a leg up on whatever Megatron\u2019s endgame is,\u201d replied Chromia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thought the bridge was our priority!\u201d hissed Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAny information helps,\u201d countered Optimus. \u201cChromia, don\u2019t stay too long. Strongarm\u2019s right. The bridge is our priority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI got enough,\u201d replied Chromia as she disconnected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t leave with that information,\u201d called a voice. Shockwave was standing there, leveling her gun arm at the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAh, Shockwave, I presume,\u201d rumbled Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI repeat, you are not leaving with that information,\u201d commanded Shockwave. \u201cSurrender it and leave peacefully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTwo problems with that,\u201d countered Optimus. \u201cOne, we\u2019re at war, so any intelligence on you guys is going to get to us one way or another. Two, Nemesis Prime is too unhinged to be unchallenged. We\u2019re going to beat him and you can\u2019t stop us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…You ARE correct about Nemesis Prime being unhinged,\u201d conceded Shockwave. \u201cRegardless, I cannot let you pass without a fight.\u201d She fired. Everyone took cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReally want to combine!\u201d muttered Stormclash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs the hallway even big enough for your combined form?\u201d called Chromia. Stormclash had to admit that the ceiling was too low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, you ARE right in one respect,\u201d Pyra Magna replied, \u201cwe need a clear path. Jumpstream! Dust Up! Tactics: Thirty Seven!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRoad Rage, coming up!\u201d confirmed Jumpstream as she and Dust Up transformed into their sports car alt-modes, running over Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOoh!\u201d winced Optimus. \u201cThat\u2019s gonna hurt in the morning! Good work, you guys! We have a path to the bridge! Let\u2019s roll out!\u201d Everyone charged towards the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u201cMUST I DO EVERYTHING AROUND HERE?!\u201d shrieked Nemesis Prime. \u201cHonestly, why do I surround myself with idiots?!\u201d He grabbed the Dark Saber and leveled it at the bridge doors. Optimus and his team burst in, guns blazing. Nemesis managed to deflect all the shots by swinging the Dark Saber. A few deflected shots struck the Rust Renegades. \u201cOptimus\u2019 Angels,\u201d laughed Nemesis. \u201cUseless as any female would be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSexist much?!\u201d snarled Optimus. He ran forward with his axe blade flashing, clashing with the Dark Saber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust die already!\u201d roared Nemesis as he swung the Dark Saber across Optimus\u2019 front, making a huge gash. Optimus clutched the gash in an attempt to keep his innermost Energon inside. \u201cWhy can\u2019t you accept the fact that you idiots who waste time trying to satisfy everyone before yourself will only die in the long run! The only thing that matters is looking out for your superiors!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are NOT my superior!\u201d snarled Optimus through the pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI AM YOUR SUPERIOR! JUST ACCEPT IT!\u201d shrieked Nemesis. \u201cNO ONE IN THIS PLANE OF EXISTENCE IS ABOVE ME!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWrong!\u201d snarled Optimus. \u201cUs heroes, we\u2019re ALWAYS above you! We learn from our mistakes AND our triumphs to become better! People like you let the past consume you, make you bitter and abusive, you let the past turn you into a monster!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone is a monster!\u201d countered Nemesis. \u201cGive people enough incentive, enough of a nudge, and they\u2019ll do things they never thought they were capable of doing! They will ALWAYS be like me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, what you mean is YOU would do that because everyone else is good and decent and kind,\u201d argued Optimus. \u201cYOU, Sir, are a jackhole! It just boils your blood to see a world where you didn\u2019t become such a bully because you can\u2019t accept that you\u2019re just a complete and total idiot, and a cowardly one, if I may say! While YOU would stew on your failures…I just can\u2019t wait to see what the future holds for me now that I am armed with more people and more knowledge about the world!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh brother, the \u2018friends\u2019 schtick!\u201d snarled Nemesis. \u201cI suppose you\u2019re going to say that your friends are your power?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Well, they are,\u201d replied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd there\u2019s the trope!\u201d snapped Nemesis. \u201cWhat next? Do they give you a sense of \u2018Burning Justice\u2019?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…As a matter of fact,\u201d mused Optimus, \u201cyes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet me correct something for you,\u201d hissed Nemesis. \u201cJustice is nothing more than an abstract concept for idiots to cling to because they\u2019re hopelessly optimistic that there is some form of order in the universe! Justice is nothing more than a lie!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe,\u201d countered Optimus, \u201cbut I find it\u2019s much more fun to fight for justice than myself!\u201d Just then, putting all on the bridge in shock, Optimus seemed to be set on fire!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOPTIMUS!\u201d shouted Chromia. \u201cQuick! Someone! Put him out!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBelay that!\u201d countered Pyra Magna. \u201cLook closer!\u201d Everyone did…and went into shock again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShouldn\u2019t Optimus be writhing in pain?\u201d quizzed Strongarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot if he\u2019s found his Still Point,\u201d replied Pyra Magna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you really think he\u2019s found it?\u201d asked Dust Up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis Still Point?\u201d muttered Chromia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery magic user has something that defines them,\u201d explained Pyra Magna, \u201csomething that gives them a reason to exist. It keeps them calm and still during any tense situation, hence the name \u2018Still Point\u2019. Once you know your Still Point, you\u2019re given access to greater power. Little lessons along the way tell you how to master that power and use it responsibly. Some magic users go well into old age before finding their Still Point. Others find it right off the bat. Optimus needed to put a name to his Still Point. Once you find it, that power manifests into a sort of…advanced form, if you will. Another super mode based around your element.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou mean…?\u201d gasped Chromia. Just then, metal formed around the fire, orangish metal for the body and bluish metal for the helmet, giving a fiery appearance to his armor. Optimus stood at his full height, ready for round two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOptimus Prime: Elemental Mode,\u201d he proclaimed. He then called up the Ark<\/em>. \u201cHave you guys got a fix on Nemesis and my position?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, Sir,\u201d replied Prowl\u2019s voice, \u201cbut what was that energy spike we detected?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll see,\u201d answered Optimus. \u201cChromia has already obtained the data she was looking for. Beam her, Strongarm, and the Rust Renegades back to the Ark<\/em> and beam Nemesis Prime and I onto the light side of the moon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat?!\u201d yelped Prowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s an order, Prowl,\u201d directed Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…All right, Sir,\u201d replied Prowl. The order was carried out as Optimus and Nemesis arrived on the light side of the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMove us to the ends of the earth, if you wish!\u201d hissed Nemesis. \u201cYou will not be so lucky a second time! I won\u2019t let you get a third wind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust know this,\u201d warned Optimus, \u201cat the end of this day, one shall stand, one shall fall!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd you are, most assuredly, the latter!\u201d snarled Nemesis as he charged at Optimus. The Dark Saber came down but Optimus blocked it with the palm of his hand, suffering no damage. Nemesis gawked. An error on his part as Optimus grabbed the sword and ripped it out of his opponent\u2019s hands, tossing it aside while delivering an uppercut. As Nemesis floated a bit longer, Optimus jumped up, then slammed his fist into Nemesis\u2019 chest, sending him back onto the moon\u2019s surface. Nemesis then swung his leg into Optimus, making him lose balance just enough for Nemesis to plow his feet into his chest, knocking him back. He then leapt onto Optimus and wrapped his hand around his neck and reached for the face while Optimus held that hand back. \u201cGIVE ME YOUR FACE!\u201d shouted Nemesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry, the face stays right where it is,\u201d snarked Optimus as he tossed Nemesis aside. \u201cNemesis, you ARE an organic life-form under all that,\u201d reminded Optimus. \u201cI\u2019m giving you a chance to return to base and get some of the oxygen you need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI really don\u2019t need it anymore,\u201d countered Nemesis. He transformed as his real self, Tails\u2019 evil counterpart, launched himself at Optimus\u2019 face. Evil Tails looked a lot meaner. An eye was replaced with a prosthetic and wires from his scalp connected to his spine. In fact, a good chunk of him was metal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy the Allspark!\u201d swore Optimus as he grabbed Miles. \u201cWhat did you do to yourself?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat was necessary for my evolution!\u201d replied Miles. He fired off electricity from his body, only mildly shocking Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDude, the fast track to evolution usually brings disaster!\u201d argued Optimus as he tossed Miles aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSpare me your lectures!\u201d shouted Miles as he summoned his vehicle mode. \u201cNEMESIS PRIME, TRANSFORM!\u201d The vehicle changed into robot mode and Miles entered the robot\u2019s chest, restoring his control over the body as Nemesis Prime. Nemesis charged again with his fist pulled back but Optimus side-stepped and delivered a punch to the chest. He then grabbed Nemesis by the shoulders and threw him into a large rock. The rock split and its fragments bounced across the moon\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFinal chance,\u201d offered Optimus, \u201cbecause I\u2019m nice. Stop your advance on G.U.N, retreat, repair your ship, and never bother us again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNemesis, this is Shockwave,\u201d called a voice over Nemesis\u2019 comms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m busy!\u201d snarled Nemesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis matter cannot wait,\u201d insisted Shockwave. \u201cThe ship is compromised. The metals have been weakened by the Autobots\u2019 fire. The damage is extensive. We cannot proceed until we make repairs.\u201d Nemesis growled before making a decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReturn to base!\u201d he ordered. He was beamed onto the Nemesis<\/em> as it retreated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOptimus, mission accomplished,\u201d called Prowl. \u201cI heard about you gaining your elemental mode. I don\u2019t know what you did after that but Nemesis Prime turned tail and we received valuable data on Megatron\u2019s endgame.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood to hear, Prowl,\u201d praised Optimus. \u201cOne to beam up. Once I return to the ship, assume standard orbit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAye, Sir,\u201d confirmed Prowl. Optimus was beamed directly to the bridge where everyone could get a look at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow!\u201d remarked Jazz. \u201cI always said you were on fire, but this takes the oil cake!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLooks good on you, kiddo,\u201d complimented Ironhide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d replied Optimus. \u201cHowever, this form, much like my battle frame was, is a bit of a drain on my internal Energon reserves.\u201d He powered down. \u201cNow, let\u2019s go home and get some Energon.\u201d His declaration was received well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
