Vorkath was the cleanest and most eco-friendly city in the Over-realm. Home to creatures known as Chimeras, an individual was a mix of many animals with human features. The Endeavor<\/em> made its way to Vorkath without any further hinderance. Falnii rushed over to Arsha when she left the ship and practically tackled her in a hug. \u201cEasy, Fluffy!\u201d chuckled Arsha. \u201cI\u2019m happy to see you too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI heard all about the pirates from Lardeth!\u201d replied Falnii, not letting go. \u201cAre you okay?! Are you hurt?! Do you need a\u2026?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFalnii, I already got a once-over from Marshii,\u201d answered Arsha. \u201cI can assure you, I\u2019m fine.\u201d Falnii then let go and released a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank goodness!\u201d she said. \u201cLife would have been empty without even one of my fianc\u00e9s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI understand,\u201d assured Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, Belnki and Father Barath want to talk to you and Marshii!\u201d relayed Falnii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Abbot of the Vorkath Monastery himself?\u201d quizzed Arsha. \u201cWe shall see him immediately. Where is he?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s at the Monastic Hospital right now,\u201d replied Falnii. \u201cI\u2019ll take you two there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you, Fluffy,\u201d bid Arsha. She then pulled out her communicator. \u201cMarshii, I need you here. King Belnki and Abbot Barath want to talk to us at the Monastery. Falnii has offered us a ride there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn my way,\u201d called Marshii. \u201cI need to see how the place is run anyways.\u201d Marshii arrived and Falnii used her cloud powers to expand the cloud that made up her dress so Arsha and Marshii could sit on it. Once they were on, Falnii lifted herself into the air and started flying towards the large, ornate Vorkath Monastery. She landed at the steps and left her passengers off before shrinking her dress back to its normal size. A human, raven-haired male in brown robes with a red cross on the front, glasses, and a bowl haircut stepped was at the door with Belnki, the Chimera King. Belnki had a rattlesnake\u2019s tail, lizard-like arms with claws on each finger, a unicorn\u2019s horn protruding from his human head with cat ears as well as human ones, six small, black orbs under his two cat-like eyes, a pair of spider legs coming out of his back, a mermaid\u2019s fin-belt, and a set of eight teal octopus legs with a mint-green underside. His fangs came out of his mouth from behind the upper lip and he had a stern look directed at Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re late,\u201d muttered Belnki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI got here when I could,\u201d said Arsha. The two stared at each other for a while. Eventually, the fa\u00e7ade started crumbling as they both started grinning, then laughing before rushing to meet in an embrace. \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to see you again, Uncle Belnki!\u201d cheered Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou didn\u2019t think I\u2019d miss a chance to see the Endeavor<\/em>\u2019s current Captain, did you?\u201d asked Belnki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWelcome to the Vorkath Monastic Hospital,\u201d greeted the human, the Abbot of the Monastery, Barath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe pleasure is mine, Father Barath,\u201d returned Arsha. \u201cWhat did you need Marshii and I for?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe may be witnessing the cure,\u201d replied Father Barath, \u201cto the Hardfin Virus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you serious?\u201d asked Marshii. \u201cRealmfleet\u2019s believed it to be cured 50 years from now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, we hope to astound Realmfleet once again,\u201d chuckled Father Barath. \u201cThe final test is in Ward 53, on the upper levels. Please follow me.\u201d Father Barath then led the quartet into the Monastery and directed them to a set of elevators. \u201cJust take these elevators straight to the ward,\u201d he instructed as he entered one. \u201cWard 53, please.\u201d The door closed as the elevator went upwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLadies first,\u201d bid Belnki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d replied Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust watch out for the disinfection procedure,\u201d warned Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry, the what?\u201d asked Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe disinfection procedure,\u201d repeated Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow bad is it?!\u201d yelped Arsha, a little worried. At that moment, a wicked grin crossed Marshii\u2019s features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know what, you\u2019ll find out,\u201d she chuckled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026Er, Ward 53\u2026please,\u201d gulped Arsha. Her elevator doors shut and it went up. A green light bathed the box\u2019s interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOccupant is a Kitsune\/human Blender,\u201d droned a feminine voice. \u201cOccupant is wearing a ballroom dress and is wearing a ribbon and rose hairpiece with hair in a bun. Disinfection parameters set. Commencing disinfection procedure.\u201d No sooner had the voice stopped speaking, a cold shower of non-toxic disinfection chemicals was sprayed on Arsha. She shrieked at the sudden surprise of cold liquid being dumped on her. She scrambled for a method to turn it off, but it was no use. More disinfection liquid then sprayed from under her dress. Soon, she had a white powder dumped on her before fans started blowing all around her. The fans stopped when the elevator did. She came out with her hair disheveled and her hair adornments hanging limply on the remains of her bun. Her dress was wrinkled as well. She saw a kiosk labeled \u201cFor clothing readjustments and cosmetic touch-ups.\u201d She figured out the purpose really quickly and took advantage of it, smoothing out her dress and redoing her hair. She came out of the kiosk looking better than ever, but still feeling violated. Falnii\u2019s elevator opened to reveal her in a cloud dress that wasn\u2019t as fluffy and her hairpieces hanging limply from her hair. Arsha showed the readjustment kiosk and Falnii took advantage of it. She soon came out, then hugged Arsha, her dress cloud enveloping Arsha\u2019s skirts. They hugged for a bit to try and calm each other down from the rather invasive disinfection procedure. The elevator then released Belnki as he noticed the two hugging it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh dear,\u201d sighed Belnki. He then hugged the two, wrapping an octopus leg around each girl to reassure them. After a while, when Marshii arrived, the girls relaxed and Arsha turned to Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat was WAY too invasive!\u201d she snapped. \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you warn us?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTechnically, I did,\u201d giggled Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI apologize if the procedure caused you discomfort,\u201d called Father Barath as he approached the group. \u201cCome. The test is being conducted here.\u201d He led the group to a room where a mermaid was moaning pitifully. The Hardfin Virus attacks a merperson\u2019s fins, causing the cells in them to become rigid and thus, not give the merperson the necessary guidance for swimming. It is painful and essentially paralyzes the victim. The mermaid\u2019s condition was bad. Pain flooded her tail from the fins up. A monk then loaded a syringe and stuck it into the mermaid\u2019s tail. She was too busy concentrating on the pain in her tail, she didn\u2019t notice the needle enter her. The onlookers waited for a minute. Eventually, the mermaid was tired of twitching in pain and let her body go limp. It was then that she noticed something. She looked down her tail and moved it. She then pointed the tip of her tail to her face as her fins bent in that same direction! She was no longer in pain and could move every bit of her tail, even her fins! She thank the monk profusely and was told to wait in a large water tank for a few days to exercise her fins until she could swim normally again. She was then placed in a water wheel-chair, similar to Shalvey\u2019s, and taken to another room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnother victory for modern medicine,\u201d cheered Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe cure will be uploaded to our database,\u201d answered Father Barath, \u201cin an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know many a merperson,\u201d sighed Marshii, \u201cwho would love to have the cure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour mother had the Hardfin virus, correct?\u201d asked Father Barath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe did,\u201d replied Marshii. \u201cAs does one of my grandsons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen we shall make sure his doctors get the cure,\u201d assured Father Barath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d bid Marshii. \u201cIt\u2019s his birthday tomorrow. To be cured of it would be a fantastic present.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of the reasons you joined the medical field, if I\u2019m not mistaken,\u201d recalled Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right,\u201d confirmed Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd yet, you\u2019re still squeamish about using tech,\u201d muttered Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere ARE reasons for that!\u201d snapped Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt HAS helped people before,\u201d replied Belnki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd there\u2019s always the potential,\u201d argued Marshii, \u201cof it being misused!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHence why the Monastery and its monks are so secretive,\u201d remarked Father Barath. \u201cWe cannot let those that would cause harm to the Realms use our secrets to carry out their goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, just tell me what you can,\u201d answered Marshii. As soon as she said it, a crowd\u2019s collective voice could be heard. Belnki rolled his eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProtestors,\u201d he muttered. \u201cThey think that there\u2019s a dark secret here, in the catacombs below the monastery. Excuse me. I must address them.\u201d He headed off to the elevator. \u201cGround floor, please,\u201d he directed. The doors closed and he came down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProtestors?\u201d asked Arsha. \u201cAt a hospital?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese particular Chimeras,\u201d replied Father Barath, \u201care demanding we close down, that their science can get faster results with mindless clone bodies. We\u2019ve tried that, but the results don\u2019t come fast enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey can\u2019t demand a hospital to close down!\u201d protested Falnii. \u201cWhat about the patients?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what Belnki asks the protestors on a frequent basis,\u201d remarked Father Barath. \u201cHowever, public opinion is mounting against him. I fear our means of support will evaporate without help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not alone in this,\u201d assured Arsha. \u201cWe won\u2019t allow support to be cut off from you guys.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith all due respect, your father already did that when he was in command of the Endeavor<\/em>,\u201d remarked Father Barath. Arsha realized what he was talking about.
