Megumi headed to the Gateway Room with a big, fat smile on her face. \u201cHail the Dominus<\/em>,\u201d she ordered Rusty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi?\u201d quizzed Rusty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour colleagues are geniuses,\u201d replied Megumi. \u201cThe Dominus<\/em>, please.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHailing frequencies open,\u201d reported Rusty. Hiro, Megatron, and Dr. Borg then appeared on screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAh, Megumi,\u201d he greeted. \u201cI trust you have an answer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a matter of fact, yes,\u201d replied Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know that grin, I\u2019ve made such a grin myself,\u201d remarked Megatron. \u201cYou have some sort of advantage over us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, no, merely a grin of knowing the playing field is now level,\u201d assured Megumi. Hiro then looked worried. \u201cI offer my guess to your plans and an explanation to how I leveled it. I\u2019m willing to bet that, when you said \u201cour\u201d friends, you meant yours. After I told my friends what you proposed, they got to thinking how they can turn it to our advantage. Lo and behold, they did. Brigadier, make your Cyber-mite\u2019s presence known to them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat?!\u201d yelped Hiro. Just then, a Combatman yelped in surprise as a metallic, worm-like machine crawled across his console. It then projected Shocker Rift\u2019s map of the multiverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t match up perfectly with ours,\u201d continued Megumi, \u201cbut, considering we have Vorton on both, we can use that as a reference point. Now, in exchange, we\u2019re willing to surrender a Mr. Starscream into your custody, then we both agree not to attack each other until BOTH sides have our military capabilities at full strength. Agreed?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I must compliment you, Madame,\u201d remarked Megatron. \u201cOne day, you must tell me how Cyberman technology got past Soundwave!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not important right now,\u201d replied Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think it is!\u201d snarled Hiro. \u201cIf you think we\u2019re going to agree to this…!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen you would be right,\u201d interrupted Megatron. \u201cTell me, what did my First Lieutenant of military matters tell you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe just went on and on about how we\u2019re going to be slaves to the Decepticon Empire,\u201d replied Megumi, \u201chow he\u2019s going to turn us into ashes, all that stuff. Nothing of tactical value. Check with him if you wish.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI may do just that,\u201d answered Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t see a reason to agree to her terms!\u201d argued Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have an Autobot amongst them,\u201d explained Megatron. \u201cWhile he may act the stereotypical, music obsessed, Michael Jackson fanboy, black man, Jazz is good at extracting information from people. Starscream knows a fair bit of Decepticon Intelligence. I\u2019m not going to run that risk. We\u2019re just going to have to agree to her terms to get Starscream back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Dr. Borg? Opinions?\u201d asked Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need to accept,\u201d replied Dr. Borg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou too?!\u201d protested Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe cannot risk losing the soldiers we have,\u201d insisted Dr. Borg. \u201cI know you believe us to be more powerful, but power is nothing without numbers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Fine, we accept your terms!\u201d sighed Hiro. \u201cNeither side will attack the other until BOTH of our military might is built up. We will retrieve Starscream in an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou can retrieve him at these coordinates,\u201d offered Megumi as she keyed in a command to beam the coordinates to the Dominus<\/em>. \u201cSee you in an hour.\u201d Hiro snarled before ending the call and having the Dominus<\/em> leave Vorton\u2019s universe. Megumi then turned to Rusty. \u201cGet me the After Academy Detention Center,\u201d she directed. \u201cI want to talk to War.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDetention Center receiving,\u201d reported Rusty. The person on screen wasn\u2019t War, but a female student in Death\u2019s house with white hair and a black headband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi, I hate to sound rude, but I AM busy,\u201d urged the girl. \u201cPlease make it brief.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSophie?\u201d asked Megumi. \u201cI was trying to reach War.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s currently talking to new arrivals,\u201d replied the girl, Sophie Moore. \u201cThey are three new Autobots, a human, a Transformer-sized chlorophyll-based life-form, and a few Mobians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTransformer-sized chlorophyll-based life-form?\u201d repeated Megumi. She then turned to a computer console. \u201cComputer, locate Jazz. I want to know if he\u2019s familiar with a Transformer-sized chlorophyll-based life-form.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJazz is on the Promenade with Team Dark,\u201d reported the computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d bid Megumi as she headed to the transport pad. \u201cPromenade,\u201d she commanded. She was transported there and found the four a few steps around the Promenade. \u201cJazz!\u201d she called. The four had stopped their conversation and looked to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s up?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI just had an interesting conversation with the detention center,\u201d explained Megumi. \u201cAre there Transformer-sized chlorophyll-based life-forms in your universe?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYep, the Seedrians,\u201d confirmed Jazz. \u201cWe thought they went extinct, but a Seedrian ambassador, Cosmo, proved us wrong.\u201d Megumi then moved towards a small screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cComputer, get me War,\u201d she commanded. The call then came to War\u2019s communicator, audio only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMight I ask what you\u2019re doing, calling me at such a time?\u201d came the familiar gruff voice of War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to discuss something with you,\u201d replied Megumi. \u201cSpecifically, two things. First, I think the new arrivals would want to talk to Jazz and Team Dark.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre they with you?\u201d asked War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re right here,\u201d rasped Shadow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Fine,\u201d sighed War, \u201cSwitching to visual.\u201d War\u2019s scarred face appeared before she moved backwards to reveal the new arrivals. Their faces lit up when they saw Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSir!\u201d cheered a small, yellow bot with horns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJazzy!\u201d called a female bot in purple and black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShadow,\u201d grunted a hulking bot with half of a T-Rex head and neck on each shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy beloved friends!\u201d greeted a woman with a rose affixed to her hair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood to see you again!\u201d called a green woman with a rose on each side of her head, the Transformer-sized chlorophyll-based life-form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHalo!\u201d (Hello!) greeted a male Mobian Komodo Dragon in Indonesian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cG\u2019day!\u201d answered a male Mobian Quokka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCool! New friends to play with!\u201d giggled a male Mobian Bee in a flight helmet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll right! Now we\u2019re talking!\u201d cheered Jazz. \u201cEveryone, I want you to meet Master Sergeant Bumblebee, my fellow First Lieutenant, Blackarachnia, the Dyno-bot commander, Command Sergeant Major Grimlock, Sira Mayworth, the Grand High Witch of Mobius, Ambassador Cosmo of Greengate, Sergeant Agus Atmadja the Komodo Dragon, Corporal Wilson Andrews the Quokka, and Charmy Bee!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo the spider-bot spoke truly,\u201d remarked War. \u201cShe IS an Autobot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWas it my optics that made you doubt me?\u201d asked Blackarachnia as she pointed to her crimson optics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou must admit, you\u2019re wearing the colors of the enemy,\u201d grunted Grimlock, \u201cespecially that peacock being held here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI presume you\u2019re talking about Starscream?\u201d asked Megumi. Everyone on the screen turned to her. \u201cI apologize, I asked a question without introducing myself. My name is Megumi Hishikawa, leader of the Vortex Alliance and Queen of the Feudal Nerd Society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA pleasure to meet you,\u201d returned Sira. \u201cIn any event, yes, we WERE talking about Starscream.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis girl Rider-kicked him good!\u201d lauded Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRider-kicked?\u201d repeated Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot another Kamen Rider,\u201d grumbled Grimlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll not be releasing Starscream any time soon,\u201d boasted War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunately, that is exactly what we must do,\u201d countered Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I beg your pardon?\u201d asked War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHiro, Megatron, and Dr. Borg visited Vorton and offered a truce,\u201d explained Megumi. \u201cI changed the terms a little. We\u2019ve taken their map to pinpoint our new arrivals\u2019 home universes. In exchange, we\u2019re handing Starscream back to them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…You\u2019re agreeing to a truce with HIRO?!\u201d argued War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegatron\u2019s going to ignore the terms of this truce too!\u201d supplied Blackarachnia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDr. Borg is also a member of the Fae!\u201d continued War. \u201cThey\u2019re the best at finding loopholes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve closed them off when I laid out my counter-terms,\u201d assured Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat were your EXACT words?\u201d asked War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat, in exchange for getting their map, we would release Starscream back to them,\u201d replied Megumi. \u201cIn addition, neither side will attack each other until we\u2019ve reached our full military might. That would include ships and soldiers.\u201d War released a breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think you just covered our butts,\u201d she sighed in relief. \u201cIf you just said \u2018army\u2019, she would convince Hiro to attack when their navy\u2019s built up and neglect the army. In any event, I strongly advise against giving up Starscream! He\u2019s Megatron\u2019s First Lieutenant!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd is usually willing to spill it with the right amount of pressure, whatever version he is,\u201d supplied Megumi. \u201cThis one\u2019s more resilient than the rest of them. Besides, he\u2019s as confused about this as we are. He\u2019s not useful to us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Very well, we\u2019ll release him,\u201d grumbled War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

An hour passed. A universe was chosen. The Virginia<\/em> and the Dominus<\/em> landed opposite of each other at a desert landscape. Those allies that were in War\u2019s custody had rejoined Jazz and Team Dark and were filled in on what caused them to be where they are now. With everyone on the same page, they met with their allies and glared at their respective enemies. Grimlock had a hand on a currently terrified Starscream. Starscream then spotted Megatron across the imaginary border. \u201cEr, any chance I can stay here?\u201d he gulped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunately for us, no,\u201d grumbled Grimlock. \u201cYou\u2019re going back after we got a map to our home universes from them.\u201d Starscream gulped again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet Starscream come to us!\u201d called Hiro. Grimlock shoved Starscream towards the other side. He got the message and started walking. The walk took about two minutes until Starscream was at Megatron\u2019s side, albeit looking terrified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat have you told them?\u201d inquired Megatron in a threatening tone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey know nothing!\u201d gulped Starscream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t mind a cortical psychic patch to check that, do you?\u201d quizzed Megatron, clearly enjoying his First Lieutenant\u2019s fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot at all, My Lord,\u201d replied Starscream. Soundwave then stuck him on the back of the neck with a cord and attached the other end to the back of his own neck. Starscream cried out in pain for a few seconds before Soundwave terminated the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey know nothing,\u201d confirmed Soundwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe shall leave, now!\u201d called Hiro to Megumi. \u201cGood luck building up your allies! I\u2019ll see you soon!\u201d Hiro and his group then entered their saucer and left the universe. Megumi released a breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know, in some twisted way,\u201d mused Sira, \u201cI rather enjoyed seeing Starscream squirm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, that concludes that part of the bargain,\u201d mused Megumi. \u201cNow, we must return.\u201d They boarded the Virginia<\/em>. Megumi found her way to the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi on the bridge!\u201d called Emily as she stood up from the Captain\u2019s chair. Tonje was at the upper weapons station, Amelia took the upper science station, Liam had the upper Engineering station, Mikhail had the upper comms station, Irina took the lower weapons station, Sheela took the lower science station, R9 handled the lower Engineering station, Hongo was on the lower comms station, and Tanisha was the pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt ease,\u201d bid Megumi as she settled into the Captain\u2019s seat while Emily took the First Officer\u2019s seat. \u201cTanisha, take us out. One quarter speed, then punch it to seven once we enter the rift. Let\u2019s get back to Vorton.\u201d The\u00a0Virginia<\/em>\u00a0was taken up and left the planet as it opened a rift. It made its way back home to Vorton. As they were making their approach, Mikhail and Hongo got something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi,\u201d called Mikhail, \u201cwe\u2019re getting a call from Vorton.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cApparently, the Hammer of Tarlax<\/em> is there, carrying Scorpainia,\u201d continued Hongo. \u201cShe wants to discuss something with you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTell her I\u2019ll meet her at the airlock,\u201d replied Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re assigned Flight path 2 to Airlock 6,\u201d reported Mikhail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmelia, make the necessary course corrections,\u201d directed Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAye, Ma\u2019am,\u201d confirmed Amelia. The Virginia<\/em> made its way to Airlock 6 and docked with it. Everyone stepped off and met with a scorpion-like humanoid. With human arms as well as scorpion claws and a scorpion tail with stinger. Megumi was embraced by the scorpion-like humanoid and patted on the back roughly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is good to see you again, my friend!\u201d cheered the scorpion-like humanoid as she pulled back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA pleasure to see you too, Scorpainia,\u201d returned Megumi. The scorpion-like humanoid, Scorpainia, the Tarlaxian Queen Empress, laughed a deep, belly laugh. \u201cI suppose you need an explanation for why I was away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo need, R9 told me everything,\u201d replied Scorpainia. \u201cHe described Hiro as looking a bit angry at having to agree to his enemy\u2019s counter-terms. A very smart choice, in my opinion, given the chaotic nature of the Convergence. My reason for coming here is two-fold. First, I\u2019ve found a few denizens of the Emboramiis\u2019 universe. I\u2019ve already met them, lovely people. Malnar had identified them as members of her future spouse\u2019s senior staff and has named them thus: Laverda the Centaur, Dalengor the Shadow Dragon, Marshii the Mermaid, Falnii the Zephyr, and Jandro the Vampire. We\u2019ve taken more readings on them and are running them against the maps. My second purpose is simple, I want to establish a permanent Tarlaxian presence on Vorton. Hiro\u2019s most likely going to attack Vorton once the truce ends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see no problem with a permanent Tarlaxian presence,\u201d mused Megumi. \u201cWe should discuss this after I meet with Malnar\u2019s compatriots.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\u2019re getting a tour of the Promenade,\u201d explained Scorpainia. \u201cCome! I will take you to them!\u201d They took the transporter pads to the Promenade and met with Elphaba and the group. The Centaur had tan skin on his human half. The Shadow Dragon was in her humanoid form. The Mermaid had a medical cross on her tube top and had robot legs around her tail. A woman with dark grey skin wore clouds like a dress, presumably what Scorpainia called a Zephyr. The Vampire was a man with long, flowing, black hair, and wore a black dress. Elphaba caught sight of Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone, this is Megumi Hishikawa, my boss here,\u201d she introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA pleasure to meet you,\u201d greeted the Centaur. \u201cI am Commander Laverda Lancelor of the Endeavor<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLieutenant Commander Dalengor Mardem, at your service,\u201d greeted the Shadow Dragon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m Doctor Marshii Borontho, Lieutenant Junior Grade and CMO of the Endeavor<\/em>,\u201d introduced the Mermaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI…I\u2019m Ambassador Falnii Loftanaf,\u201d stammered the grey woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd I am Jandro Dormu of the Grelnak Vampire Clan,\u201d finished the Vampire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWelcome to Vorton,\u201d greeted Megumi. \u201cI promise you; we WILL find your respective universes and bring you home. Please excuse me.\u201d She then headed off to a caf\u00e9 and ordered something. She sat at a table and waited for her order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSomeone looks distracted,\u201d mused a voice. Scorpainia had arrived with Jazz\u2019s holo-form and Malnar. \u201cDo you mind?\u201d asked Scorpainia as she indicated a seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGo ahead,\u201d replied Megumi. The three took their seats and gave Megumi their attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDid you get a chance to meet new people from home?\u201d asked Malnar. \u201cSome of them are part of my future wife\u2019s Senior Staff. Well, one of my future wives. Falnii\u2019s another one. Then we\u2019ve got our future hubbys too. Three boys and three girls, all from different social classes, coming together to unite the Realms!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA peasant becomes royalty,\u201d chuckled Scorpainia. \u201cYou know, I came from poor stock. Megumi, I don\u2019t know if I told you about my…Megumi?\u201d Megumi was staring at a spot on the table, concerning Scorpainia. \u201cMegumi, are you okay?\u201d asked Scorpainia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cScorpainia, do you remember when you saved my world from Shocker Rift after the Vortech Wars?\u201d asked Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow could I forget?\u201d chuckled Scorpainia. \u201cIt was touch and go for a minute there. I almost got my head whacked off by Saruman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe were then declared too dangerous by our respective countries,\u201d remarked Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA danger you were founded on, since different is dangerous in your world,\u201d mused Scorpainia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMobius is still going through that,\u201d sighed Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs are the Realms,\u201d interjected Malnar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Perhaps it\u2019s because we need to get along somehow, since we never learned how to have civil debates,\u201d muttered Megumi. \u201cAfter this crisis, the Feudal Nerd Society will be disbanded.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDisbanded?!\u201d yelped Scorpainia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve made up my mind!\u201d insisted Megumi. \u201cIt\u2019s for the best!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLook, I get that you miss your old hangout,\u201d soothed Scorpainia, \u201cbut you\u2019ve built a new one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not the same!\u201d snapped Megumi. \u201cI made a mistake in having us stay on-campus! We\u2019ve lost our old home because of it! Before the Vortech Wars, we just hung out. Those were the good years. The Castle Nerd Skull I knew is long gone and now, it\u2019s time to move on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd do what?\u201d asked Jazz. \u201cI\u2019m all for going with the flow, but the old Praxian desire for a plan does shape me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I\u2019m not sure what\u2019s next,\u201d admitted Megumi. \u201cI thought I would be going into my mother\u2019s business, but that\u2019s impossible, given my lack of fashion aptitude. I\u2019m more of a historian. …I suppose I COULD go into archeology. The Mausoleum of Emperor Nintoku always fascinated me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd is this the one in your home universe?\u201d asked Malnar. Megumi nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour universe is pretty remote,\u201d remarked Scorpainia. \u201cAnd what about Richard? How\u2019s he going to survive in Japan? From what he told me; his understanding of your language is subpar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I hadn\u2019t considered that,\u201d realized Megumi. \u201cOne thing IS clear, though; the sooner we find a career and disband, the better. Hiro won\u2019t be so eager to target us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI disagree,\u201d replied Malnar. \u201cIf Hiro is as unsavory as people say he is, then he\u2019s going to leap at the opportunity to pick you off one by one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I don\u2019t know,\u201d sighed Megumi, \u201cmaybe all the fun\u2019s gone. I feel like every possibility\u2019s been explored with us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
