It was a bare room with grid lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s&#8230;er&#8230;\u201d floundered Skyfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnimpressive, dull, and boring as Hell, I know,\u201d chuckled War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou seem happy,\u201d muttered Quake Hammer. \u201cHonestly, I\u2019m not too sure about the d\u00e9cor or bareness of this bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s all part of the design, I promise you,\u201d assured War. \u201cX-PO, decloak Omni-console!\u201d X-PO and the device he was attached to shimmered into view. \u201cPresenting the Omni-console. It can turn into any form of control console as I wish. Since I don\u2019t have the support of my old colleagues, I decided to go with a single control console handling everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat happens when that console explodes?\u201d asked Quake Hammer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere ARE other Omni-consoles that will come out of the walls and take over,\u201d assured War. \u201cNow, to explain why the room looks the way it is.\u201d War keyed in a command and a bowl of fruit appeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;A holo-deck for the bridge?\u201d realized Skyfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUsing Cybertronian hologram technology,\u201d continued War, \u201cI can make the bridge look like anything I want. So, let\u2019s say I\u2019m eager to try my hand at a&nbsp;<em>Daedalus<\/em>-class starship, I just key in a command and&#8230;\u201d War demonstrated by keying in a command and the room became the bridge of Linkara\u2019s ship,&nbsp;<em>Comicron-1<\/em>. The Omni-console then turned into the main console under the viewscreen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo, you can turn it into anything you want?\u201d asked Skyfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYep,\u201d confirmed War as she headed to the main console. \u201cSo, let\u2019s say I\u2019m feeling a little Klingon,\u201d she keyed in another command and the bridge turned into the bridge of a&nbsp;<em>Vor\u2019cha<\/em>-class Klingon Bird-of-prey as the Omni-console became the main console again, \u201cor I want to explore time and space,\u201d another command was keyed in and it turned into the current TARDIS interior, complete with the Omni-console becoming the TARDIS\u2019 console, \u201cor I\u2019m in the mood for something weird,\u201d the next command turned the bridge into the set of&nbsp;<em>Jeopardy!<\/em>&nbsp;as the console became Alex Trebek\u2019s lectern, \u201cor I just want the comforts of my old office,\u201d the new command turned the entire bridge into War\u2019s office and the Omni-console turned into War\u2019s workstation, \u201cand we should be all set! So, if anything should happen requiring non-essential power to be turned off, the bridge will turn into its bare design and the Omni-console will go back to its original shape, so our rears should be covered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMakes me wonder why you don\u2019t just move your office to the bridge,\u201d muttered Quake Hammer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf a pack of internet reviewers have had bad experiences with houses being turned into starships,\u201d replied X-PO, \u201cI don\u2019t think turning your office into the bridge of a ship is a good idea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI believe that\u2019s everything,\u201d mused War. \u201cAll set for this ship\u2019s maiden flight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cControl to&nbsp;<em>Ruthless<\/em>, all lights green,\u201d called a person over the comms. \u201cYou are go for launch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExcellent!\u201d cheered War. She then typed something onto the keyboard. The ship\u2019s lights then lit up like a Christmas tree and the mighty engines roared to life. As the smaller dock ships lined up for a makeshift runway, the&nbsp;<em>Ruthless<\/em>&nbsp;glided slowly out into the vastness of space, inspiring her allies and frightening her enemies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Megumi looked over her homework in the Captain\u2019s Ready Room on the&nbsp;<em>Virginia<\/em>. She seemed to be stuck on a math problem. \u201cWhat am I getting wrong?\u201d she muttered. She decided to read the problem aloud. \u201c5(-3x-2)-(x-3)=-4(4x+5)+13&#8230;Come on, work, brain! You\u2019re at least better than Usagi at Math!\u201d The door chimed. \u201cCome in,\u201d she called. \u201cI\u2019m getting nowhere with this.\u201d Richard entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMegumi, there isn\u2019t a delicate way to say it, so I\u2019ll just say it straight,\u201d he declared. \u201cYour psychological evaluation is subpar. The medical staff and our visiting doctors all agree that you need to be relieved of command.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNO F***ING WAY!\u201d roared Megumi. \u201cI\u2019M FINE!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll of our doctors say otherwise!\u201d argued Richard. \u201cI\u2019ve noticed that you\u2019ve been acting WAY out of character for a while! When did you decide making Hiro hurt was our end goal?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s taken too much from us!\u201d snarled Megumi. \u201cI intend to show him how much!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat kind of talk wasn\u2019t exactly used in Chima!\u201d countered Richard. \u201cTanisha told me about how you wanted to give Hiro mercy before he exploded! And, lest we forget, you offered him mercy when Igura died! Losing Mickey, War, and Turretorg made you lose your sense of mercy!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo you\u2019re relieving me of command,\u201d hissed Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd we all feel you should return to Vorton,\u201d continued Richard. \u201cWe can handle Hiro ourselves, believe it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;Fine, I\u2019ll take a shuttle back to Vorton,\u201d grunted Megumi. She picked up her homework and stormed out of the Ready Room, making a beeline to the hangar. Richard sighed as he returned to the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHow did it go?\u201d asked Hiroki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs well as can be expected,\u201d sighed Richard. \u201cMikhail, see if Megumi\u2019s heading back to Vorton in a shuttle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA shuttle\u2019s requested permission to go to Vorton,\u201d reported Mikhail. \u201cMegumi\u2019s onboard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGive that shuttle permission to go,\u201d ordered Richard as he sat in the Captain\u2019s Chair. The shuttle left the hangar and made its way to Vorton. Mikhail got confirmation that the shuttle made it to Vorton and relayed the message to Richard. Richard sighed. Removing Megumi from command was going to be awkward, no matter what he did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The shuttle arrived back on Vorton and Megumi stormed to her room. She flopped into her chair and spent 20 minutes staring at the ceiling with an expression that would make a pair of holes above her. She heard her door chime. \u201cGo away!\u201d she snarled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot a chance, Megumi,\u201d replied Scorpainia\u2019s voice as she came in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know your language,\u201d hissed Megumi, \u201chas a variation of the phrase \u2018Leave me alone\u2019, so go away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d countered Scorpainia. Megumi then glared at Scorpainia. \u201cI want to know why you\u2019re acting the way you are. I\u2019m perfectly content to sit here and stare at you for as long as you stay silent.\u201d Megumi returned to staring at the ceiling in anger, as if she were calling Scorpainia\u2019s bluff. This lasted for a good half-hour before Megumi became uncomfortable with feeling Scorpainia\u2019s eyes on her. She sighed before speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re going to get themselves killed,\u201d she muttered. \u201cI\u2019ve fought Hiro more than they have. Only I can understand how he works. Only&nbsp;<em>I<\/em>&nbsp;can beat him! He\u2019s taken too much from us and I intend to show him how much it hurts! I intend to show him pain!\u201d Scorpainia just listened to the rant. \u201c&#8230;Well?!\u201d asked Megumi. \u201cOpinions?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not going to like it,\u201d warned Scorpainia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTell me!\u201d roared Megumi as she shifted into Tora-Onna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;All right,\u201d resolved Scorpainia. \u201cYou\u2019re acting way too much like the daughter he intended for you to be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;You\u2019re right, I DON\u2019T like it!\u201d snarled Tora-Onna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLook, I, of all people, understand how evil Hiro is,\u201d continued Scorpainia, \u201cbut I\u2019m seeing him bring out a side you usually have under control. I see someone who is turning as vindictive as the person she hates the most and has forgotten her greatest weapon; mercy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re overstating the case here!\u201d hissed Tora-Onna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAm I?\u201d asked Scorpainia. \u201cMegumi, when was the last time you thought back to any of the good that has happened in your life?\u201d Tora-Onna opened her mouth&#8230;then her eyes shifted, trying to recall what she heard, then what she saw. \u201cWas it any time recent?\u201d continued Scorpainia. \u201cAnd, when your career started, did you ever think you would ever talk about taking revenge?\u201d Tora-Onna\u2019s eyes continued shifting along the left, then she shut her eyes in shame. \u201cMegumi, you once believed that the best way to seek revenge is NOT to seek revenge. If you, of all people, would throw that out, then what hope is there for us?\u201d Tora-Onna then brought her knees up to her chest and hid her face behind them, shaking as she cried. \u201c&#8230;All right, I think I\u2019ve made my point,\u201d sighed Scorpainia. \u201cDo you need anything?\u201d All Scorpainia could see was Tora-Onna shaking her head as she cried. \u201c&#8230;Very well,\u201d she sighed as she departed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard sighed as he sat in the chair in the Captain\u2019s Ready Room. He was thinking about what happened earlier. The comms interrupted his thoughts. \u201cYes?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOptimus wants to talk to you,\u201d reported Mikhail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPut him through,\u201d ordered Richard. Optimus\u2019 head then appeared on the small screen. \u201cWhat can I do for you, Prime?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI wanted to discuss something with you,\u201d explained Optimus. \u201cI\u2019ve only known her these past few months, but I don\u2019t think Megumi\u2019s behavior is exactly like her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt isn\u2019t,\u201d confirmed Richard. \u201cI just relieved her of command and sent her back to Vorton. Her psych eval was subpar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;Que the flashbacks of when Ratchet had to relieve me of command for a bit,\u201d muttered Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou? Relieved?\u201d asked Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTwice,\u201d replied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat doesn\u2019t speak well of your command,\u201d remarked Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWell, the second time, I asked to be relieved,\u201d recalled Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d asked Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was seeing things that weren\u2019t there and hearing things that no one else could,\u201d elaborated Optimus. \u201cWhen I got confirmation that the other Autobots didn\u2019t see or hear what I did, I got the impression that I was hallucinating and figured it wasn\u2019t good for a commander to have hallucinations, especially on the battlefield. So, I asked Ratchet to relieve me of command.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat happened the first time?\u201d asked Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMuch like Megumi, I was letting my anger and self-loathing dictate my command decisions,\u201d answered Optimus. \u201cMegatron had just revealed he was the new Decepticon Lord. He hid his intentions too well and I felt like I was supposed to have seen it coming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAngry at both Megatron and yourself,\u201d Richard summed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo put it mildly,\u201d muttered Optimus. \u201cIn any event, I was going to tell Megumi that our Sky-Spy has determined the enemy fleet to be too large for our ships to handle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThen we need to figure out a sneaky way to disable it,\u201d declared Richard. \u201cGet Sh\u2019Kar out from your holo-deck. I\u2019ll get Arsha and we\u2019ll all figure out a plan of attack that doesn\u2019t involve a suicide run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSh\u2019Kar\u2019s gonna be disappointed,\u201d mused Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Optimus, Arsha, Sh\u2019Kar, and Richard met in the&nbsp;<em>Ark<\/em>\u2019s conference room. \u201cNo, I don\u2019t feel disappointed,\u201d called Sh\u2019Kar as she looked at the size of the enemy fleet above Wyldstyle\u2019s home. \u201cA suicidal battle like that will not secure victory. I\u2019m sure you would know what Kahless would have said in this instance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018Destroying an empire to win a war is no victory and ending a battle to save an empire is no defeat\u2019,\u201d quoted Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExactly,\u201d confirmed Sh\u2019Kar. \u201cWhat do you have in mind in terms of a sneak attack?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe old disguise bit,\u201d replied Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have various spells to help with that,\u201d offered Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can just scan a vehicle mode and change my holo-form,\u201d supplied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd my Chief Engineer revealed the secrets of her people\u2019s genetic alteration procedures,\u201d finished Sh\u2019Kar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;Genetic alteration?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat race in the Federation was she from?\u201d quizzed Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe wasn\u2019t from the Federation,\u201d explained Sh\u2019Kar. \u201cShe was from Cardassia Prime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou had a Cardassian as your Chief Engineer?!\u201d yelped Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe didn\u2019t agree with the government during the Dominion War,\u201d replied Sh\u2019Kar. \u201cShe started a new life on Earth, had a letter of recommendation approved by Starfleet, and moved up the ranks so that she became Captain of the starship&nbsp;<em>Voyager-B<\/em>.\u201d Optimus whistled in praise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo, you know a thing or two about Cardassian genetic alteration,\u201d he summarized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWell enough,\u201d replied Sh\u2019Kar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll right, here\u2019s what we\u2019ll do,\u201d declared Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Marvin the Martian grumbled as he cleaned a glass at the new Shocker Rift bar set up in Wyldstyle\u2019s home. \u201cI was a highly respected Commander of the Martian Empire!\u201d he grumbled. \u201cNow, after a few failures from the Earth duck and Earth rabbit, I\u2019m just a bartender and a servant instead of a commander! How fair is that?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExcuse me,\u201d called Megatron\u2019s voice as he sat at a table for someone his size. Marvin rolled his eyes and activated the hover pad he was standing one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat can I do for you?\u201d he muttered when he was eye to eye with Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMight I trouble you for a glass of Engex?\u201d requested Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou can have the whole bottle, if you want,\u201d grumbled Marvin. \u201cOn the house.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s rather generous of you,\u201d mused Megatron as Marvin piloted his hover pad to the bottle of Engex. He activated two arms, one to grab the bottle and the other to grab a cubical glass, then returned to Megatron\u2019s table and set them down. \u201cTell me, what ails you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy position, that\u2019s what,\u201d grunted Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI take it you have the implant as well?\u201d guessed Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately,\u201d grumbled Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not exactly free of it myself,\u201d muttered Megatron as he poured a glass of Engex. \u201cI should have taken my cousin\u2019s advice. She said to me \u2018There\u2019s a bright future in teaching now that the war\u2019s over!\u2019 No teacher on Cybertron ever goes broke. But, did I take her advice? No. Why? Because I wanted to command something! I prefer trying to change societies and see what happens! I prefer to gather information on people, like you and I are doing with each other right now!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou know people like me all too well,\u201d observed Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re teaching others, though,\u201d continued Megatron, \u201call you\u2019re doing is relaying knowledge and enforcing a status quo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYour ideas would only fall on deaf ears,\u201d guessed Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cExactly!\u201d hissed Megatron as he sipped. \u201cAnd now, I\u2019m a slave to a glorified monkey that thinks it\u2019s the greatest thing since the discovery of planets orbiting a sun. Meanwhile, my cousin has her own mansion on one of my planet\u2019s moons! You know what the worst part of it is? I\u2019m actually praying for my brother, Optimus, to beat Hiro so I can get out of slavery! My younger brother, an idealistic child, and he\u2019s my only hope of salvation!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs someone who teamed up with his arch-nemesis on more than one occasion, I know EXACTLY how you feel,\u201d sympathized Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;Marvin, tell me,\u201d mused Megatron, \u201cdid you ever try any Earth drinks? Beer, for example?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo, I can\u2019t say that with honesty,\u201d replied Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPerhaps you should at least try a sip,\u201d offered Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d muttered Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCome on,\u201d urged Megatron. \u201cAren\u2019t you the least bit curious?\u201d Marvin sighed, then directed his hover pad to the bar and poured the tiniest shot of beer he was prepared to stomach. He sipped it&#8230;then he gagged and coughed the instant the alcohol entered his&#8230;er&#8230;mouth. \u201cWell?\u201d asked Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVile!\u201d coughed Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI know,\u201d muttered Megatron. \u201cIt\u2019s so angry and fiery and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;Much like Hiro,\u201d realized Marvin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou know what the worst part is?\u201d asked Megatron. \u201cIf you drink enough of that, you begin to feel only that just so you can drown out whatever pain you\u2019re feeling.
