As the Ark<\/em>, Nemesis<\/em>, Tiger<\/em>, Virginia<\/em>, Endeavor<\/em>, and Scorpion<\/em> pursued Vortech\u2019s hijacked fleet, a Tarlaxian fleet joined them. The Hammer of Tarlax<\/em> was currently under Eelinape\u2019s command as Scorpainia had to stay behind to focus on the baby in her womb. Megumi was checked over by Emily in the Virginia<\/em>\u2019s Sick Bay. \u201cAll signs are good,\u201d declared Emily. \u201cYou\u2019re free to go.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d bid Megumi. \u201cI need to talk with everyone on the Ark<\/em>.\u201d She headed to the transporter room and beamed over to the Ark<\/em>\u2019s Conference Room to meet Rosadera, Arsha, Oak, Caan, Mickey, Eggman, Sonic, Richard, Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Megatron, Starscream, Dr. Borg, Tormo, War, and Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou doing okay?\u201d asked Richard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBit of a headache from Vortech\u2019s possession,\u201d replied Megumi. She then gave a glare to Hiro and Caan. \u201cHiro, Caan,\u201d she greeted, not even bothering with honorifics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi,\u201d growled Hiro, dropping the honorifics as well. The tension could be cut with a knife before Megumi changed the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s our status?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStill pursuing Vortech,\u201d replied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t have a host anymore,\u201d mused Arsha. \u201cDoes that mean he\u2019s more vulnerable?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVortech never needed a host to survive,\u201d answered Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe can\u2019t really make Vortexons anymore,\u201d supplied Megumi. \u201cI remember seeing that during the Okamon match.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunately,\u201d sighed War, \u201che\u2019s probably reprogrammed the HumaGear crews of my fleet to obey him. He\u2019s still got an army.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy is he going to Chizara, though?\u201d asked Oak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Funny you bring that up,\u201d mused Arsha as she tried to think about why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s still unsuspecting of us,\u201d interjected Caan. \u201cWe should increase speed and fire on sight before he suspects an attack! With any luck, the power systems of each ship will be disabled and Vortech will be weakened!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEach ship has independent power systems to prevent that from happening,\u201d replied War. \u201cI planned for such a method of attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen any tactical insights would be appreciated,\u201d declared Tormo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSee, that\u2019s the funny part,\u201d remarked Megumi. \u201cOptimus, Arsha, and I are aware of more of his thoughts now, but one of them has been confusing me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d asked Rosadera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy do his thoughts turn to Chizara?\u201d asked Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…She\u2019s right, that makes no sense and Vortech is blocking my ability to peer into his timeline for me to get any answers,\u201d muttered Caan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d asked Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVortech\u2019s endgame was to smash all universes and sub-dimensions into one giant universe,\u201d explained Megumi. \u201cThat could only be possible by gathering the Foundation Elements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs there something on Chizara that would make gathering them easier?\u201d asked Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, the Vortonians asked us to destroy it completely,\u201d answered Rosadera. \u201cHe saw us reduce the device to dust, then to atoms, then to nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think the better question,\u201d remarked Optimus, \u201cis why did Vortech decide to bide his time?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVortech\u2019s been awake since the battle for the Sources on Foundation Prime,\u201d recalled Megumi. \u201cThat was three years ago. It took Hiro that long to get more recruits for Shocker Rift, but it took Vortech way less time to gather the Foundation Elements once he found Foundation Prime. So, why is he ignoring Foundation Prime if there\u2019s nothing for him on Chizara?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPerhaps he knew I was after him,\u201d boasted Caan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo offense, Caan,\u201d remarked Hiro, \u201c…actually, ALL the offense, you fled from him along with me when he made the Quad and turned on us all. Neither of us were in a position to stop him back then. It took Megumi, Lacey, and all of their allies, including all of the Doctor\u2019s incarnations, to stop him. But no dimension was attacked in his name! He\u2019s just been sitting inside Optimus, Arsha, and Megumi! There\u2019s something else in his head that not even they knew about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSpeculation of his motives aside,\u201d interjected War, \u201cattacking him now will do us no good. Doing so will only condemn us to fruitlessly pursuing him for the rest of our lives. We need a permanent solution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe\u2019s right,\u201d declared Mickey. \u201cI\u2019m sick of this skullduggery! We need to end this now!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen we need our smart people to come up with a miracle,\u201d replied Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe resources of Shockwave\u2019s lab,\u201d offered Megatron, \u201cshould help all of our scientists to produce a solution to this crisis. Eggman, you and I will tell Shockwave of this development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll join you,\u201d offered Dr. Borg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have Ratchet and Perceptor assist you,\u201d declared Optimus. \u201cMaybe Tails can help too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLukas, Dell, and Liam will help as well,\u201d announced Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have Thangred, Melandra, and Marshii help you guys,\u201d proclaimed Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHiro, I suggest you train for the coming battle,\u201d suggested Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSure,\u201d muttered Hiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet\u2019s finish this, people!\u201d declared Megumi. \u201cVortech\u2019s going down again!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Once all the scientifically-minded people were in Shockwave\u2019s lab on the Nemesis<\/em>, they began making numerous plans to try and defeat Vortech. \u201cWhat about a Sentry nest keyed only to Vortech\u2019s genetic signature?\u201d asked Dell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat requires more metal than we have,\u201d muttered Shockwave, \u201cand there\u2019s no guarantee that Vortech won\u2019t consider your Sentries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere IS the machine you and Metal Sonic used to control that city Transformer,\u201d surmised Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Prower here,\u201d replied Shockwave, \u201chad his Nutzanbolts eat it and destroy any and all information on it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBesides,\u201d supplied Tails, \u201cVortech could grow big, from what Megumi said, and Metroplex isn\u2019t around to save us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is getting us nowhere!\u201d hissed Lukas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, we don\u2019t really have much choice,\u201d griped Marshii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLads, Lassies, let\u2019s not fight,\u201d suggested Liam. \u201cOnly if we work together do we…\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWait a cycle,\u201d remarked Perceptor as inspiration hit him. \u201cI believe we\u2019re asking the wrong question here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExplanations?\u201d asked Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not \u2018How can we beat Vortech?\u2019,\u201d elaborated Perceptor, \u201cit\u2019s \u2018Why did Vortech choose those three specifically?\u2019. Megumi, I can understand, but Optimus considered him a myth and Arsha never even heard of the stories surrounding him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…He\u2019s right, why choose them?\u201d muttered Shockwave as the wheels were turning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe, for some irrational reason,\u201d mused Ratchet, \u201che fears their power combined. I mean, Arsha\u2019s a young woman, yet she\u2019s got plans to unite the Realms and that requires a lot of power in some fashion. On top of that, she\u2019s skilled in magic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOptimus has that Matrix and his own magical abilities,\u201d supplied Dell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd Megumi can use the abilities of anyone with that belt of hers,\u201d recalled Marshii. \u201cBut, the question is, is that enough to make Vortech afraid of them so bad he wants that power under his control?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi\u2019s been the one with the greatest connection to Vortech,\u201d offered Lukas. \u201cMaybe she could tell us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHer answers will either make or break Perceptor\u2019s theory,\u201d replied Shockwave. \u201cLet\u2019s ask her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll call her here,\u201d offered Dell as he took out his cell phone and dialed Megumi\u2019s number. He heard the ringing until he got a response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMoshi moshi?\u201d asked Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi, darlin\u2019, could you come over here for a second?\u201d asked Dell. \u201cWe need some data to either prove or disprove a theory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll help in any way I can,\u201d replied Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s all I ask,\u201d finished Dell. Megumi hung up and she was beamed over to Shockwave\u2019s lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do you need from me?\u201d asked Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen Vortech had control of you,\u201d inquired Shockwave, \u201cdid you get any reason why he chose you, Optimus, and Arsha?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Now that you mention it, yes,\u201d replied Megumi. \u201cHe did some research on Optimus and Arsha and was terrified of them seeing the multiverse. When I accidentally reactivated his memories and soul three years ago, his thoughts immediately went to them. With the power of the Matrix, Optimus and Arsha\u2019s magical abilities, Arsha\u2019s political and naval know-how, and my Vortex Driver, Vortech feared that such power could finish him in the long run, so he sought to control us. Is there anything else you want to know?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat won\u2019t be necessary,\u201d answered Shockwave, \u201cbut thank you.\u201d Megumi bowed as she called for a teleport back. \u201cWell now,\u201d mused Shockwave, \u201cperhaps we should make something based around combining their powers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think I have something in mind,\u201d replied Tails, \u201cwe just need an Ascendant and Optimus and Arsha\u2019s i.d. tags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can provide them,\u201d offered Lukas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou propose that we make a new power-up to combine their powers?\u201d guessed Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf things go right, yes,\u201d answered Tails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had best get started, then,\u201d declared Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

War, Megumi, Arsha, and Optimus were called to Shockwave\u2019s lab about an hour later. \u201cI understand you have something?\u201d Megumi asked all of the scientists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe do,\u201d replied Lukas. \u201cWe had to use my Ascendant to make it, but it\u2019s a noble sacrifice. Besides, Dell offered to make another one since he worked with them more than I did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe just need you three to test it out,\u201d explained Tails as he pointed to Megumi, Optimus, and Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy us?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause, if our equations hold,\u201d replied Shockwave, \u201cyou three will understand what fusion truly is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWait a minute, I want to make sure I got that right,\u201d interjected Megumi. \u201cYou guys made an Ascendant that would allow someone to fuse with two people instead of just one?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot exactly,\u201d answered Dell. \u201cWe set it so that only you can use it and only fuse with Optimus and Arsha. Vortech fears your powers combined, so we need to use that against him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd you need us to test it out,\u201d surmised Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCorrect,\u201d confirmed Dr. Borg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen let me have it,\u201d declared Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPresenting the Transcendant!\u201d announced Lukas as he handed over the device. It could fit like the Ascendant could, but the wheels were the size of the one on the Vortex Driver and had Optimus\u2019 image on the one facing her right and Arsha\u2019s on the remaining one. Megumi inserted her i.d. tag, then pressed the button on the Transcendant\u2019s top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTRIPLE ASCENDANCE!\u201d it called. She then inserted it into the driver. \u201cTRIPLE SET!\u201d She then struck her ready pose as Optimus assumed his usual melee ready stance and Arsha went into a stance that looked like she was ready to dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHenshin!\u201d announced Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHenshin!\u201d Optimus and Arsha repeated. Megumi pressed the button again and changed first into Royal, then her suit bulked up and turned white with gold trim, making her Kamen Rider Proto-Vortex, then the bulk flew off and revealed her final form of Kamen Rider Vortex!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t…\u201d she muttered before Optimus and Arsha turned into mist and fused with her. Her new armor had Optimus\u2019 face on her right shoulder pad and was armored like him, as was her left leg, while Arsha\u2019s face turned into her left shoulder pad and her left arm and right leg were armored after her. Her helmet gained Optimus\u2019 antennae and Arsha\u2019s bun and hairpiece. Her cape was still white and she examined herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPOWER OF THREE! ASCENDED TRINITY! KAMEN RIDER VORTEX: TRINITY SOUL!\u201d cheered the Transcendant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat just begs the question of who\u2019s in charge,\u201d muttered Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMegumi?\u201d asked Marshii. \u201cOptimus? Arsha?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I am all of them, yet none of them,\u201d replied the Rider in a totally different voice than either Megumi, Arsha, or Optimus\u2019. The voice was clearly feminine, but spoke in an otherworldly tone. \u201cI am their combined whole, Kamen Rider Vortex: Trinity Soul.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…I was NOT expecting that!\u201d gasped Eggman. \u201cBut, I was expecting not to expect something, so it doesn\u2019t count.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs there…?\u201d gulped Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey all reside in me,\u201d explained Vortex: Trinity Soul, \u201cand they\u2019re as unnerved about what happened as much as you are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnnerved is putting it mildly,\u201d muttered Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow much do you know?\u201d asked Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverything about the lives of all of my components,\u201d answered Vortex: Trinity Soul, \u201cespecially what\u2019s going on. A question still lingers in my mind; why did you ask for War?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile War was influenced by Vortech when he possessed you,\u201d explained Tails, \u201cshe was trying to take over the Chizaran Satellite Network to make space-based weapons to target Caan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah, I remember that,\u201d sighed War as she looked away, ashamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome of the weapons you were designing are quite sophisticated,\u201d continued Eggman, \u201call in a bid to destroy Caan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you saying you think we can use the satellites to destroy Vortech?\u201d asked Vortex: Trinity Soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think WAR was, actually,\u201d replied Tails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s possible,\u201d explained Marshii, \u201cthat while she was influenced by Vortech, War was creating a weapon against him. I have to say, that\u2019s impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Ascendant\u2019s program,\u201d elaborated Lukas, \u201ccame with various mental safeguards to shield us from Vortech. If those safeguards were expanded upon, they could be used to trap Vortech.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCombined with dimensional technology,\u201d supplied Dr. Borg, \u201cwe could create a small pocket dimension made from the safeguards that could contain our enemy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNatural entropy of a dimension that size,\u201d continued Dell, \u201cwill make it decay within seconds of the portal closing and Vortech won\u2019t be able to escape. Thus, he\u2019ll die along with it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll need the satellites to both project the safeguards and close the portal,\u201d mused War. Everyone then winced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTherein lies a tricky bit,\u201d remarked Tails. \u201cEven with more help, Vortech\u2019s fleet is still a match for ours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe needs his attention drawn away from the battle in space,\u201d elaborated Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd the main satellite controls need a means of control set up on the ground,\u201d continued Dell, \u201cas well as on board the Virginia<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe need someone to set up the ground controls on Chizara,\u201d finished Marshii, \u201cand draw Vortech\u2019s attention away from the space battle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have an uneasy feeling,\u201d remarked Vortex: Trinity Soul, \u201cthat someone is me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t tell Caan,\u201d answered Eggman, \u201cbut I would prefer that he does it. However, while Vortech DID restore his clairvoyance with a bit of his own being, it\u2019s not enough to close the portal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBesides, we\u2019d have a continual lock on you to bring you out of there if things go awry,\u201d assured Tails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Well, my components and I agree that it\u2019s the best option,\u201d declared Vortex: Trinity Soul. \u201cWhen we get to Chizara, we\u2019re putting an end to this once and for all!\u201d She then took out the Transcendant and split into Arsha, Megumi, and Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMinna-san, we\u2019re only getting one shot at this,\u201d reminded Megumi. \u201cThere can be no margin for error. We\u2019ll tell everyone the plan in an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
