When the crew heard they were going to the Over-union festival, they were elated! The day finally came and the Endeavor<\/em> was approaching the area where the festival would be held, the Zephyrs\u2019 home of Wysper City. Shalvey made the announcement as they got closer. \u201cWysper Command Outpost 2, this is the Endeavor<\/em>, registry CRS-2784. We are currently approaching Wysper City. Requesting permission to land.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStandby and transmit your clearance code,\u201d replied the operator over the line. Shalvey keyed in a command and transmitted the clearance code. \u201cAh, updated to new Realmfleet Standard, huh?\u201d mused the operator. \u201cYour code checks out. Assigning flight path 3 on account of some cloud build-up, nothing that will indicate rain, just want you to be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe appreciate it,\u201d assured Shalvey. \u201cThank you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEnjoy Wysper City!\u201d bid the operator. The call ended and Nazay maneuvered the Endeavor<\/em> to the flight path. They soon landed and departed to see one of Lardeth\u2019s moms come up to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere she is! One of my future daughter in laws!\u201d she cheered. She wrapped Arsha into a huge, tight hug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cG…good to…see you too…Queen Feymay,\u201d strained Arsha. \u201cCan\u2019t…breathe!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, no, no, no! None of that formal stuff!\u201d declared the Queen, Feymay. \u201cIf we\u2019re going to be family, we need to drop titles around each other! Now, come on! Let me show you all around!\u201d She then noticed something. \u201cNow, where did my son go?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was about to say,\u201d muttered Arsha, \u201cI would have thought Lardeth would be here earlier than me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was here a minute ago,\u201d remarked Feymay. \u201cHim and Malnar and Falnii.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cComing!\u201d called Lardeth\u2019s voice. He, Falnii, and Malnar rushed up to Arsha and enveloped her into a group hug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been WAY too long!\u201d giggled Malnar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re missing a couple of people,\u201d observed Falnii once the embrace broke off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cForesna and Gorfanth are coming,\u201d assured Arsha. \u201cThey\u2019re just making sure they\u2019re absolutely ready.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, looky here!\u201d called Foresna\u2019s voice. He and Gorfanth then approached the group. \u201cAll six of us, together again!\u201d cheered Foresna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been almost a year since we were all in one place,\u201d mused Gorfanth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think we can all do with some time together,\u201d remarked Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStill reeling from your fight with Oyed?\u201d asked Lardeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah, the whole crew is,\u201d replied Arsha. \u201cSome of them have family in the Over-realm, they need to reconnect with them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow\u2019s Samuje doing?\u201d asked Falnii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot well,\u201d sighed Arsha. \u201cShe\u2019s now scared of going onto a skyship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat traumatizing, I see,\u201d sympathized Malnar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can only hope she does well for herself now,\u201d sighed Falnii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo do I,\u201d replied Arsha. \u201cIn any event, I heard you completed your tour, Lardeth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSure did!\u201d confirmed Lardeth. \u201cAfter the Tour\u2019s End Ceremony, I\u2019m gonna submit the paperwork needed for me, Falnii, and Malnar to live with you guys!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, I hope Realmfleet approves it!\u201d wished Gorfanth. \u201cWe need to stay together!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAgreed,\u201d remarked Malnar, \u201cespecially with Oyed rising.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019ll make sure he falls permanently!\u201d vowed Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m afraid you must get in line,\u201d called a voice. \u201cMy cousin was one of the surviving Ensigns.\u201d Rellmeer, Felfar, and the Fae Emperor, Rellmeer\u2019s husband, Embrek approached them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c…Your cousin, Your Majesty?\u201d Arsha asked Rellmeer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLike Samuje,\u201d replied Rellmeer, \u201che is traumatized. We don\u2019t know how badly, but the fact he suffered like that is more than enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy Lady…\u201d began Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cArsha, we do NOT blame you or Realmfleet in the slightest,\u201d interrupted Embrek. \u201cNo one in the Fae Republic does and no one will.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Circle of Vengeance,\u201d continued Felfar, \u201cis reserved for Oyed and his followers. We won\u2019t rest until he pays for his crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am available if you wish for my help,\u201d promised Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor that, I am grateful,\u201d bid Rellmeer. \u201cOyed sought to drive us apart. Well, his crimes have united us all in seeking vengeance on his head!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot exactly something any Realm-union festival encourages,\u201d remarked Embrek, \u201cbut Oyed must pay!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAgreed,\u201d answered Malnar. \u201cBut we can\u2019t exactly make a Blood Contract right now, can we?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, Your Highness, we can\u2019t,\u201d replied Rellmeer. \u201cWe have duties to perform. Speaking of which, I believe everyone\u2019s taking their place for the Opening Ceremony.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see you there!\u201d called Arsha as Rellmeer and her family headed off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone took their place around midday. Lardeth\u2019s cousin, Feemnaf, took her place at the podium, ready to announce the kingdoms of the Over-realm. \u201cFrom the Blasarda Desert,\u201d she began, \u201cwe have the Ignarsens, King Galtra, Queen Larana, Lola, and Ortren!\u201d A pair of Nagas and a pair of humans made their way down the aisle as everyone cheered. They soon sat in their places. \u201cFrom the Rooka Forest, we have the Stonewoods, King Elm, King Ash, King Maple, Queen Lily, their daughter, Princess Daisy, and her spouse, Mr. Hickory!\u201d Dryads and Alarunes moved down the aisle, waving to the crowd, then sat behind the Ignarsens. \u201cFrom the Drelda Forest, we have the Almaydias, Emperor Embrek, Empress Rellmeer, and their harem members, Felfar, Moralma, Alma, Korla, and Granthin!\u201d The two Fairies and Felfar were accompanied by a human, a Sprite, another Fairy, and a Pixie, all female. They sat next to the Stonewoods after they walked down the aisle. \u201cFrom the Chromanian Sea Merfolk Kingdom, we have the Janfos, Queen Shenfam, Queen Glanmaj, Queen Kalmarit, and their daughter, Princess Keyumta!\u201d A middle-aged Mermaid, a pair of middle-aged Cecaelia women, and a young Mermaid glided down the aisle in water chairs like Shalvey, taking their seats on the other side of the Stonewoods. \u201cFrom the Coliamdii Kingdom, we have the Yantorus, King Tegnar, King Lektem, their daughter, Princess Tanshwee, and her spouse, Lord Yentak!\u201d Lardeth arched an eyebrow as the Yantorus walked down the aisle and sat near the Almaydias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere\u2019s Mariah and Namdaresh?\u201d he muttered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll need to ask Tanshwee,\u201d mused Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the Lunarimba Sea Merfolk Kingdom,\u201d continued Feemnaf, \u201cwe have the Yantefas, King Hindegar, Queen Ulumeye, their son, Price Ventiko, and his spouse, Mr. Genjokuu!\u201d The Yantefas had water-chairs as well and glided down the aisle to their spot near the Yantorus. \u201cFrom the Falchineve Drider Colony, we have the Tolandahs, King Hekcho, Queen Yumbii, their harem member, Yulumei, and their children, Prince Vetam and Princess Yetam!\u201d The Tolandahs walked down the aisle, their legs moving in their usual, purposeful manner, and set themselves in front of the Ignarsens. \u201cFrom the Altiam Mountains, we have the Stonefoots, King Gekshar, his daughter, Yelem, and her spouse, Lord Yenter!\u201d A trio of Dwarves stomped down the aisle and raised their hammers, earning cheers as they sat next to the Tolandahs. \u201cFrom the Ralandren Plains, we have the Untarfus, King Heenda, his harem member, Laumney, and their son, Kunfar!\u201d A Centaur trio trotted down the aisle, the woman hanging on the arm of the King, and sat themselves next to the Stonefoots. \u201cFrom the Regalin Sea Merfolk Kingdom, we have the Yalunais, King Jeemar, King Jeltam, their harem member, Leefal, and their children, Prince Kajna and Princess Loomo!\u201d Three Cecaelias, with the two men each holding a child, came down the aisle and sat next to the Untarfus. \u201cFrom the Calando Merfolk Kingdom, we have the Ilmators with their psychiatrist, King Keymat, Queen Yalmu, Princess Malmee, and Dr. Anya Pastella!\u201d More water-chairs took the Merfolk down the aisle and set them on the other side of the Ignarsens. \u201cFrom Dwalna City, we have the Yerumals, King Henjar, his daughter, Princess Ferga, the High-Witch of Dwalna City, Lady Empria Dewlna, and the city\u2019s wish-granter, Loolee Albrina!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLoolee?\u201d asked Malnar as three humans and a genie woman came down the aisle. \u201cLast time I met her was on my tour. I thought she couldn\u2019t leave the city, being bound to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe one of them wished for her to see the festival,\u201d mused Gorfanth as the Yerumal party sat by the Ilmator party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the Sacchrinda Kingdom,\u201d Feemnaf went on, \u201cwe have the Maropwems, King Jonthar, Queen Keelma, and their daughters, Princess Rosalmia, Princess Orsanmii, Princess Yasinma, Princess Grenmaf, Princess Blamfem, Princess Pinalk, and Princess Purhalmaf!\u201d A Fairy man and a human woman led their seven identical daughters down the aisle. The daughters looked and dressed alike, only being told apart by the colors of their dresses, hair, and eyes. While they were Blenders, they didn\u2019t have the wings or antennae of their father, just his biological immortality. They sat behind the Yerumal party and turned their attention down the aisle. \u201cFrom Vorkath, we have the Lorpeths, King Belnki and Queen Balma!\u201d Belnki and Balma came down the aisle and sat by the Maropwems. Arsha noticed that Balma had her hand on her belly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCould she be…?\u201d she muttered to herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd last, but not least,\u201d called Feemnaf as she got out dozens of water bottles, \u201chosting the Festival, from right here in Wysper City, we have my aunts\u2019 family, the Felomphas, Queen Feymay, Queen Emfam, Queen Roomef, Queen Jeefef, Queen Olmarfa, Queen Ufnamfa, Queen Teefmanam, Queen Pofomofo, King Endram, and their children…\u201d she took a swig of water before rattling off the royal heirs, \u201cPrincess Welmaf, Princess Wamfar, Princess Eemaf, Princess Yelmef, Princess Memfee, Princess Domamfem, Princess Pemfem, Princess Prefamal, Princess Yomfu, Princess Twayfar…\u201d another swig before going on, \u201cPrincess Teefem, Princess Tomnuf, Princess Fanfum, Princess Regaph, Princess Phormof, Princess Pefmaph, Princess Mophoj, Princess Yenpheer…\u201d yet another swig, \u201cPrincess Flamfer, Princess Yulnef, Princess Fehgar, Princess Doful, Princess Demphar, Princess Sumamf, Princess Yumeef, Princess Emfal…\u201d another swig, \u201cPrincess Yemfet, Princess Rupafur, Princess Tumfem, Princess Quafaph, Princess Toofan, Princess Teyfarmaf, Princess Erpaph, Princess Wenthoph…\u201d this time, she guzzled her water, \u201cPrincess Remfamto, Princess Iftaph, Princess Vumfaf, Princess Leemoth, Princess Wurmamph…\u201d another guzzle of water, \u201cand Crown Prince of the Over-realm, Lardeth of the Over-realm\u2019s capital, Wysper City with his fianc\u00e9s, Ambassador Falnii Loftanaf of Wysper City, Crown Princess of the Mid-Realm, Arsha Royana of the Mid-realm\u2019s capital of Largandra, Mr. Foresna Falshenda of the Mid-realm village of Rokanth, Crown Princess of the Under-realm, Malnar Emboramii of the Under-realm\u2019s capital citadel of Belsnath, and Mr. Gorfanth Steelhorn of the Under-realm\u2019s Galdredan Lava Kingdom! PHEW!\u201d She had one last guzzling of water before she continued. \u201cBy the Ones, I thought my immediate family was big!\u201d This earned a chuckle from the audience. \u201cNow, all in attendance must launch a fireball into the torch to begin the Festival!\u201d The golden bowl that surrounded the giant wick was really large, so there was no chance of missing the actual torch. After everyone launched their fireballs, fireworks were launched as the torch\u2019s flame leapt into the air! \u201cI hereby pronounce the Over-union Festival…OPEN!\u201d Everyone cheered at that proclamation. Soon, the booths opened and displayed the technological prowess of the Over-realm! Arsha and her spouses wandered around for a bit, marveling at the technological advancements on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow!\u201d breathed Arsha as she goggled at a new type of train. Her childhood was coming to the forefront. \u201cLook at the design of the boiler! So streamlined! What\u2019s that thing\u2019s max speed?! I gotta know!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI heard you liked trains,\u201d remarked Lardeth, \u201cbut I never realized how much.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you kidding me?!\u201d asked Arsha. \u201cCan you imagine how the original designer thought of making his first engine?! He must have looked at a kettle on the stove and wondered \u2018How can I make this thing move?\u2019! It\u2019s so amazing!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wonder if they\u2019re going to make this thing a Mechanica,\u201d mused Foresna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s even allowed to become one,\u201d muttered Lardeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d quizzed Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere have rumors going around the Realmfleet High Council,\u201d explained Lardeth, \u201cthat Uluntan\u2019s decision is going to be revoked and Mechanicas will be stripped of their rights, something the Conservatives are very keen to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat in the Realms for?!\u201d demanded Arsha as she transferred her hairpiece to her waist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe same old arguments that Uluntan heard during the trial,\u201d replied Lardeth, \u201cthat they\u2019re just machines that shouldn\u2019t have come to life in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat a load!\u201d snapped Foresna. \u201cWho are these people and why do you royals need to pay them any attention?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUm, I don\u2019t think we need to worry,\u201d Falnii interjected softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy\u2019s that, Fluffy?\u201d asked Malnar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell,\u201d replied Falnii, \u201cCouncilor Genthar\u2019s stepped down as the leader of the Conservative Party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHas he now?!\u201d cheered Malnar as everyone\u2019s mood brightened. \u201cWell, they\u2019re gonna be too busy with that to worry about Mechanicas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDarn straight!\u201d agreed Arsha as she put her hairpiece back onto her bun. \u201cThe Conservatives will be scrounging to find a replacement and the Futurists will exploit this leadership clash to no end!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still the Populists to consider,\u201d reminded Lardeth. \u201cThey\u2019re not exactly as friendly with Chimeras, who knows what their views on Mechanicas are. I wonder how many of them will try to pass Conservative policies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMom had a saying about politicians with no term limits,\u201d mused Arsha, \u201cthey only have two priorities: staying in office and bad-mouthing the opposition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIsn\u2019t she one?\u201d asked Falnii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah, our parents certainly are,\u201d agreed Malnar as she pointed to herself, Lardeth, and Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMom\u2019s called royal families figureheads; thus we\u2019re exempt from that definition,\u201d replied Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t say as I agree with her,\u201d remarked Lardeth. \u201cAs it stands now, we currently have the most political power and the most amounts of resources to enact…it…\u201d He trailed off as he saw something drifting down from the sky. \u201c…I must be seeing things!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMe too!\u201d yelped Falnii. \u201cSnow?! I can\u2019t remember the last time it snowed this early!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it has!\u201d replied Lardeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t remember seeing snow at this point in an Over-realm winter!\u201d supplied Malnar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can already hear the rail-people grumbling,\u201d muttered Lardeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCome on, Princess, be fair,\u201d chided Arsha. \u201cThey\u2019re right to grumble. The snow DOES bring a whole host of problems, a few cancelled trains, icy rails, curtailed speed, various businesses rushing to complete their orders before closing for the season, and poor visibility, if there\u2019s really bad fog.\u201d That\u2019s when fog started creeping in. \u201c…Case in point,\u201d muttered Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, looks like a few activities during the week will be cancelled,\u201d sighed Lardeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know, I think Rosalmia will have a harder time finding another lover,\u201d mused Malnar. \u201cPrincess, you\u2019re her best friend, how many lovers does she have now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
