The green Chaos Emerald sat on a pedestal in the middle of a set of ruins. G.U.N had already arrived there and awaited the arrival of the team. A Ground Bridge opened to deposit Optimus, Grimlock, Scattershot, Stormclash, Sonic, Rouge, and Sergeant Lansworth the Cobra. They were led to the Emerald\u2019s resting place and Rouge\u2019s eyes lit up. \u201cHello, Darling!\u201d she purred. \u201cMama\u2019s been after you for a while!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDown, Rouge,\u201d snarked Lansworth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWho\u2019s the one in charge?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMe,\u201d called a voice. Alexis the Fruit Bat then stepped up. \u201cBeen a while, huh, Red?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cToo long,\u201d agreed Optimus. \u201cI wish the circumstances were better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCan we hurry this up?\u201d grunted Grimlock. \u201cI feel eyes on us!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSomeone\u2019s paranoid,\u201d chuckled Scattershot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWar does that, Young One,\u201d rebuked Stormclash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGrim\u2019s right, where\u2019s the rendezvous?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAbout 19 kliks east,\u201d answered Alexis. \u201cYou should be able to secretly open a Ground Bridge there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet\u2019s get to it,\u201d declared Optimus. The Autobots transformed and Rouge took the Emerald before settling herself on Grimlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m NOT the most comfortable ride, lady,\u201d remarked Grimlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaybe, but everyone wants to ride a T-Rex when they\u2019re kids,\u201d replied Rouge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI doubt one made of metal\u2019s on kids\u2019 minds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI need to show you some of the comics of this world. Robot T-rex\u2019s are a delight of a kid\u2019s fantasy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCan we please focus?!\u201d snapped Stormclash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome on! I\u2019m waiting!\u201d groaned Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right, roll out!\u201d ordered Optimus. Everyone then moved out, heading in an easterly direction. Rouge then regretted riding Grimlock as his beast mode\u2019s stomping made her bounce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCan\u2019t you go smoother?!\u201d she hissed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLady, I warned you about\u2026!\u201d Grimlock\u2019s sentence was interrupted as an explosion erupted near him. Rouge almost fell off before she flapped her wings and caught herself. Unfortunately, she dropped the Emerald. Sonic snatched it up as the Autobots transformed and everyone prepared for a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019d say it was a nice shot,\u201d remarked a voice, \u201cexcept for the fact that I missed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019ll have plenty of opportunity to correct that, my dear Clench,\u201d replied Megatron\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause, of course, you guys would be after them!\u201d growled Optimus as everyone turned to see Megatron, Ratbat, Onslaught, and Clench. \u201cI see you\u2019ve got a Mini-con on your side now.\u201d Grimlock\u2019s face betrayed surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cClench?!\u201d he yelped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know the little guy?\u201d asked Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMegatron, you\u2019re playing with fire!\u201d Grimlock continued. \u201cCyclone Mini-cons can\u2019t be trusted! Take it from someone who worked with that specific Cyclone!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo your cure was gonna cost a few lives, big whoop!\u201d answered Clench. \u201cYou still need me to control your beast mode.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cActually, runt, I don\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Say what?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOptimus and his team cured me. I can transform normally again!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Well, scrap.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOptimus, I\u2019m going to make myself very clear!\u201d called Megatron. \u201cThat Emerald is ours!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMolon labe!\u201d challenged Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Clench, you don\u2019t mind taking care of the organics, do you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot at all, Lord Megatron,\u201d answered Clench. \u201cNeed to start small before I take care of the big guys. Just as long as we try that \u2018trick\u2019 during the fight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs you wish! Decepticons, ATTACK!\u201d Megatron and Optimus charged at each other as Onslaught transformed and fired on Grimlock while Ratbat buzzed Scattershot and Stormclash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSCRAM!\u201d shouted Stormclash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMake me!\u201d taunted Ratbat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSTORMCLASH, TRANSFORM!\u201d Stormclash\u2019s transformation was similar to Vortex\u2019s, even down to a similar helicopter alt-mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRATBAT, TRANSFORM!\u201d Ratbat turned into his hover-bike alt-mode and moved in an erratic pattern to stay out of her line of fire. \u2026He forgot Lansworth. Lansworth pounced on him and wrapped her tail around him. \u201cGET OFF!\u201d shouted Ratbat as his holo-form vanished. Lansworth then grabbed the handlebars and yanked hard to the left, crashing him into Clench as she leapt off. The two Mini-cons picked themselves up and returned to the fight. Sonic and Rouge fought with Clench. Like Rouge, Clench usually attacked with kicks. The only difference between them was that Rouge could fly. However, Clench was nothing if not resourceful. After throwing Sonic a good distance away, he found his aerial target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCLENCH, BURNOUT!\u201d Gun barrels then swung from the back of his legs as his arms folded to his chest to give his alt-mode\u2019s tires a chance to touch the ground while his leg assembly swung to the back as a canopy covered his head. He turned into a buggy with twin-mounted cannons on top and targeted Rouge. \u201cSay good night, you lame bird knock-off!\u201d He fired a concussion blast and knocked Rouge out of the sky, making her crash into Sonic and making him drop the Chaos Emerald. Clench transformed back into robot mode and dove for it, successfully grabbing it! \u201cCome to Papa!\u201d he cheered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHand it over, pipsqueak!\u201d called a voice similar to Optimus\u2019. Purple energy then knocked the fighters down. Clench sat up to see Nemesis Prime standing over him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Er, some \u2018dark\u2019 form, kid?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m from another universe, fool!\u201d snarled Nemesis. \u201cUnicron saw my talent and wisely recruited to restore him in this one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhoa, whoa, WHOA! Saying his name?! Are you nuts?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI already said it before. Now, the Chaos Emerald! I won\u2019t ask again!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSlag off, Bulk!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHave it your way, runt!\u201d Nemesis raised his foot to step on him, but Optimus tackled him to the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe situation was bad enough WITHOUT you, Nemesis! Leave!\u201d demanded Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI won\u2019t return to Unicron empty-handed!\u201d snarled Nemesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHardly your choice now! OPTIMUS PRIME, SUPER MODE!\u201d Optimus\u2019 trailer appeared and turned into its battle-frame configuration, then Optimus slotted himself into it as the chest armor folded down and a larger helmet covered his head. He deployed his mask and punched Nemesis HARD! Nemesis picked himself up and goggled at Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow long have you had that?!\u201d he demanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince I landed on Mobius!\u201d Optimus charged at Nemesis, forcing him to roll out of the way. As the two brawled while everyone else held Ratbat and Onslaught at bay, Clench scurried towards Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow\u2019s that phrase go, \u2018two birds with one stone\u2019?\u201d he asked the Decepticon Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026A capital idea,\u201d rumbled Megatron. \u201cDo you still have the Emerald?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight here!\u201d Clench fished the Chaos Emerald out of his subspace pocket and handed it to Megatron. The taller bot accepted it and put it into his own pocket. \u201cNow, just say that wonderful phrase!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs you wish. Clench, POWERLINX!\u201d Clench\u2019s transformation completed itself above the waist, but his legs only came together and deployed the gun barrels. He then attached himself to Megatron\u2019s Fusion Cannon, the barrels lining up with each other, and Megatron leveled his arm at the two Primes. He clenched his fist and fired his cannon while Clench\u2019s guns gave off rapid-fire rounds. Optimus and Nemesis were knocked back and Megatron swung his arm across the battlefield while still firing. The Autobots and their allies scattered. \u201cOnslaught, bridge us back!\u201d ordered Megatron. Onslaught pulled out a device and pressed a button, making a Bridge portal open and the Decepticons retreated with Megatron covering the rear. When they all went through, the Bridge closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Did he just\u2026yeet himself out of here?!\u201d snarled Nemesis. \u201cWith MY Emerald!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUnicron ain\u2019t draining them!\u201d declared Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt least your Spark will make a nice consolation prize!\u201d Nemesis charged at Optimus, a look of insanity in his optics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTeletraan! Ground Bridge! Now!\u201d The Ground Bridge portal opened. \u201cAutobots, fall back!\u201d Optimus covered the rear as Nemesis was pelted with laser fire. \u201cOh, by the way\u2026\u201d Optimus got a wicked grin before he leaped into the portal. \u201cYEET!\u201d The portal closed, leaving Nemesis Prime alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Unicron\u2019s gonna have my aft for this!\u201d he gulped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Below Mobius\u2019 crust, a primordial evil bellowed. It was angry and knew of Nemesis Prime\u2019s failure. \u201cNEMESIS, YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED FOR THIS!\u201d it promised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
