\u201cThis is it!\u201d declared the Quad. \u201cYour dimensions are becoming one! Lord Vortech will reign supreme!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot as long as we draw breath!\u201d I countered. The Quad\u2019s response was to swing its sword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou are already too late!\u201d it said. \u201cOur work has been done!\u201d It summoned Vortexons and fired ice beams from Robin\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRobin,\u201d pleaded Batman as we fought off the Vortexons, \u201cif you\u2019re still in there, you must stop this!\u201d Unfortunately, Robin couldn\u2019t hear us. The Quad slammed its fists down, trying to crush us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe could really use some help!\u201d yelped Cyborg as he was surrounded by Vortexons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe need to get into the upper chest!\u201d Wizard pointed out as he slashed with his WizarSwordGun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAllow me,\u201d said Raven. Her hands then became shrouded in darkness. \u201cAzarath Metrion Zinthos!\u201d she chanted. She blasted a hole in the Quad\u2019s upper chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBatman, Gandalf, Wyldstyle, Ichig\u014d! With me!\u201d I ordered. \u201cWizard, get us in there!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m not letting you go alone!\u201d declared Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGuard, stay here with everyone else!\u201d I demanded. \u201cI need you to keep the enemy off our backs!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut\u2026!\u201d protested Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s an order!\u201d I snapped. Guard hesitated for a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBe careful in there,\u201d he finally said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo promises,\u201d I countered. \u201cWizard, if you please?\u201d Wizard flipped the levers and a familiar chant played before he cast levitate on us before returning to the fight. We landed in a room that was much bigger than I thought. There, held in an energy cage, was Ichimonji! \u201cGet him down from there!\u201d I shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGet away from that!\u201d demanded a voice. We turned and Gandalf recognized the figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCaan!\u201d he gasped. Caan was wearing his Dal Driver!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have a raging headache,\u201d snarled Caan, \u201cfrom all the timeline changes going on now! I will only say this once! If you do not allow Vortech to succeed, allowing him at least 3,724 rels to do so, you will be exterminated!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt would help if you didn\u2019t use Dalek units of time!\u201d I snapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right,\u201d hissed Caan, \u201cif you insist on using your inferior measurements of time, roughly 3 hours and 6 minutes. One rel is three seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m not giving Vortech even ONE second to succeed!\u201d I declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou now have 3.33 rels to reconsider,\u201d warned Caan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t require a third of a rel!\u201d I declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFinal warning, surrender!\u201d threatened Caan. \u201cConsider the chaos that will follow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to do what I can to prevent that!\u201d I said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAllocated surrender period has expired!\u201d declared Caan as he took out the Pure Dalek can. \u201cConsequence: extermination!\u201d He set the can into the Dal Driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPURE DALEK!\u201d announced the belt. He then turned the crank. \u201cARE YOU READY?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHenshin!\u201d said Caan. The suit formed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTHE UNSTOPPABLE KILLER!\u201d announced the belt. \u201cPURE DALEK! EXTERMINATE!\u201d Caan was now Kamen Rider Dal. He leapt onto me and delivered punch after punch to my face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou have been interfering for too long!\u201d he said in the Dalek\u2019s usual tone. Batman then grabbed one of his fists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI guess manners have been sifted out of the Daleks\u2019 genetic code!\u201d he snarled. \u201cDavros really screwed up on you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUNHAND ME!\u201d screeched Dal as he flung Batman aside. I took that opportunity to drive my knee into his crotch. He didn\u2019t even flinch. He just looked down with curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026No way!\u201d I said. Dal then flung me into a wall and punched me in the gut! I was briefly winded. Gandalf then whacked him with his staff. Dal turned to face him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t forgotten you!\u201d he droned. He then held out his left hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDAL GUN!\u201d announced the Dal Driver. His gun then appeared and he fired! We got out of the way and kept our distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAny suggestions?!\u201d I asked my teammates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI got one!\u201d declared Batman as he fired his grappled gun. Dal ducked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou missed,\u201d he droned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDid I?\u201d smirked Batman. The hook had latched onto the railing overhead and Batman tugged hard. The walkway tumbled down onto Dal and some rubble crashed onto the control panel, freeing Ichimonji! Something then tumbled out of a panel in the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cICHIMONJI\u2019S TYPHOON!\u201d called Ichig\u014d, identifying the device. While Dal tried to get the walkway off of him, Ichig\u014d fastened the Typhoon around Ichimonji\u2019s waist. Ichimonji managed to quickly regain his strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHongo?\u201d he asked. \u201cAm I glad to see you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s good to have you back, Ichimonji,\u201d replied Ichig\u014d. \u201cNow that we have you free, the Quad should be less effective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd we have a Foundation Element in our grasp again,\u201d cheered Gandalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou mean, my Typhoon?\u201d quizzed Ichimonji. \u201cWith all due respect, you have it all wrong. It\u2019s not my belt, it\u2019s Tachibana\u2019s pipe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWHAT?!\u201d yelped Ichig\u014d. \u201cI thought Mayu had it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrom what I\u2019ve heard,\u201d explained Ichimonji, \u201cShocker Rift attacked her home and stole the pipe away from her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDesecration!\u201d snarled Ichig\u014d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTachibana?\u201d I asked, needing a reminder. I know I heard that name before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cT\u014dbei Tachibana was my father figure after my parents\u2019 death,\u201d explained Ichig\u014d. \u201cHe had a habit of smoking a pipe and, subsequently, died of lung cancer. His granddaughter, Mayu, kept his pipe as a keepsake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd Shocker Rift stole it from her because it was a Foundation Element,\u201d I guessed, \u201cthe one from your world!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCorrect,\u201d confirmed Ichimonji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd, with that,\u201d barked a Dalek\u2019s voice as Dal stood up, \u201cyou have permanently twisted the future to YOUR desired end! So, it\u2019s up to me to put it back!\u201d He jumped out of the hole we made in the Quad and joined the fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll help!\u201d Ichimonji declared to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t have recovered that fast!\u201d I protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m a Kaizo Ningen,\u201d (modified human, Japanese phrase for cyborgs) smirked Ichimonji. \u201cI HAVE recovered that fast.\u201d He then faced the opening we made, then flung his arms to the side and rotated them until his left fist went upwards and his right fist pointed to his left elbow. \u201cHENSHIN!\u201d he announced before leaping into the fight down below. The shield on his Typhoon opened and his suit formed. His suit was built like Ichig\u014d\u2019s, but the helmet coloration was different. It was a lighter shade of green with a white stripe going between the eyes and going to the back of the head. The mouth-guard was silver as well. Other than that, you could easily confuse him for Ichig\u014d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYOU FREED KAMEN RIDER NIG\u014c!\u201d cheered Sengoku as he punched a Vortexon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat will do you no good!\u201d called the Quad. \u201cWe are still in command of all the gateways!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOkay, we need to take care of the MetalBeard bit!\u201d I called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf I may!\u201d shouted Cyborg as he fired into the right shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank you!\u201d I replied as my team headed into the shoulder. MetalBeard was in an energy cage like Nig\u014d was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOkay, I can see chroma discs,\u201d Wyldstyle pointed out, \u201cand the lock design,\u201d yellow circle, blue right L-shape, purple left L-shape, \u201cbut how do we get to them? They\u2019re behind energy shields.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPerhaps I can find a solution,\u201d replied Gandalf. He found a loose wall panel in the center of the energy shields and yanked it off with his magic. Behind the panel was a machine with a control panel. The machine had a pointer that indicated which shield should go down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll take care of it,\u201d remarked Batman. \u201cWyldstyle, you better get things started.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cChroma Keystone, activate!\u201d called Wyldstyle. \u201cChroma lock reveal!\u201d Batman then moved the pointer to the shield around the red Chroma Disc. \u201cChroma! Red! Gandalf!\u201d announced Wyldstyle. Gandalf went into the red paint and jumped into the left L-shape. Batman then moved the pointer to the yellow shield and the shield around that vanished while the shield around red went back up. The yellow disc was on a high ledge. Wyldstyle went up. \u201cChroma! Yellow! Wyldstyle!\u201d she called as she jumped into the paint, then into the circle. Batman moved the pointer one last time, allowing access to the blue paint and closing off access to the yellow. \u201cChroma! Blue! Ichig\u014d!\u201d Ichig\u014d jumped into the blue paint, then jumped into Gandalf\u2019s position before landing in the right L-shape. The Chroma lock then activated a lever by MetalBeard\u2019s cage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI got it!\u201d I announced as I yanked on the lever. The cage deactivated and MetalBeard was released!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cArr, ye did it!\u201d cheered MetalBeard. \u201cBut, ye gotta free the others! Being trapped in this thing is…arr!\u201d I presume he said that to replace whatever swear went through his mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe already freed Ichimonji,\u201d I revealed. \u201cHe\u2019s fighting the enemy down below. Would you like to join or go to safety on Vorton? Your call.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter being stuffed in this contraption?!\u201d growled MetalBeard. \u201cNay, I be joining the fight below!\u201d He charged out of the Quad through the hole we made and started attacking the Vortexons. We followed him and rejoined the battle. The Quad felt its power diminish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo!\u201d it protested in all four voices. \u201cWe are only a fraction of Lord Vortech\u2019s power! He shall rule over everything!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot as long as we exist!\u201d argued Touch\u00e9 as she swapped i.d. tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWyldstyle steel!\u201d announced her belt. She then built a massive cannon out of debris and fired it into the lower chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGet going!\u201d called Touch\u00e9. My team and I jumped into the chest and we found ourselves in a room where Frodo Baggins was being held!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis calls for the Scale Keystone,\u201d reported Ichig\u014d as he pointed to a vent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s broken, though!\u201d I pointed out. \u201cWhere are the patches?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSomeone call?\u201d asked Batman as he brought them down from the ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBatman, you\u2019re a life-saver!\u201d I cheered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s what I do,\u201d responded Batman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cScale Keystone, activate!\u201d announced Ichig\u014d. \u201cEnlarge scale of Ichig\u014d!\u201d He grew and attached the patches, then held up a dangling bit. \u201cEnlarge scale of Gandalf!\u201d Gandalf grew and held up another dangling bit. \u201cLessen scale of Royal!\u201d I shrank and traveled through the vent, messing with the electronics along the way until I heard the crackle of an energy cage deactivating. I got out of the vent to see Frodo picking himself up! \u201cNormalize scale of all!\u201d announced Ichig\u014d as we all returned to normal size. Gandalf rushed over to Frodo to check on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrodo, my boy!\u201d he called. \u201cAre you all right?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA little dizzy,\u201d muttered Frodo, \u201cbut I shall be fine, Gandalf.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGood to know,\u201d said Gandalf. He then turned to me. \u201cSee if Vorton can get him home,\u201d he asked me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo!\u201d countered Frodo. He then revealed Sting! \u201cI have a bone to pick with Vortech! Defeating his troops should help me get the message across!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c…Are you quite sure?\u201d quizzed Gandalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never been more sure in my life!\u201d affirmed Frodo. He went through the hole we made and jumped down into the fight, Sting flashing in the moonlight. \u201cFOR THE SHIRE!\u201d he called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur power will not be diminished!\u201d called the Quad as we leapt out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt looks like it IS!\u201d I replied as we fought the Vortexons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou cannot!\u201d rebuked the Quad. \u201cYou cannot free them from our bonds!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019d say,\u201d countered Wizard as he hefted a large stone, \u201cwe just did!\u201d He tossed the stone into the Quad\u2019s lower chest and made one last hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHold on, Robin!\u201d called Batman as we leapt in. There was a ledge that was on fire when we got inside and something that required electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cElemental Keystone, activate!\u201d announced Gandalf. \u201cElement of fire, Wyldstyle!\u201d Wyldstyle was surrounded in a red aura and leapt onto the ledge, deactivating part of the cage. \u201cElement of lightning, Royal!\u201d I fired a stream of lightning into a coil that powered a switch. Gandalf set it to the off position and the cage faded, releasing Robin. Batman went to check on his son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRobin, speak to me!\u201d he called as he shook his young ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSTOP SHAKING ME!\u201d shouted Robin. Batman stopped as he realized what he was doing. \u201cSheesh, Batman,\u201d commented Robin, \u201cI didn\u2019t know you cared!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, he\u2019s your dad,\u201d I responded, \u201cof course he does.\u201d Robin stared at me until he remembered something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s right, you\u2019re from a universe where we\u2019re fiction and our lives are lain bare,\u201d he remarked. Just then, an alarm sounded and our exit was blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUh oh!\u201d I yelped. I then called Vorton. \u201cGuys, we need an immediate evac! Lock onto to us and our allies! Get us to Vorton!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGot you!\u201d responded Elphaba\u2019s voice. \u201cI got your allies here, but you five are the only ones we can\u2019t get a lock on! There\u2019s a clear area deeper in the Quad! See if you can get there!\u201d We did as she asked, dodging rubble along the way. We got to the clear area to see the blob Vortech had used to make the Quad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, that looks like a bit of Vortech to me!\u201d called Wyldstyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI can almost taste the malevolence emanating from it!\u201d hissed Gandalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, IT\u2019S about to taste some justice!\u201d snarled Batman as he pulled out a batarang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHoly clich\u00e9s, Batman,\u201d remarked Robin. I then stared at Robin. He guessed what I was saying in my head. \u201cI was being purposefully ironic!\u201d he protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUh huh, sure,\u201d I replied. Batman tossed the batarang and it hit the blob. Just then, the place started to shake and things were being pulled into it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s collapsing in on itself!\u201d yelped Wyldstyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hadn\u2019t noticed!\u201d I roared, sarcasm not even bothering to be disguised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hope Vorton provides us with a means of escape soon!\u201d called Gandalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
