Right now, late in the night, a Nebulan woman, Llyra, was working in her office with her future father-in-law, Stylor, and a friend of hers, a woman named Kari. As they worked, her fianc\u00e9, Galen, and a woman, Marita, stormed into the room. \u201cGive me one good reason not to use Cerebros to take them out!\u201d he snarled to Llyra. Llyra simply arched her eyebrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026If you didn\u2019t know the answer, you wouldn\u2019t have thought to ask,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDon\u2019t play that game with me, Llyra! I\u2019m serious!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t have hard evidence that Hi-Q\u2019s Industrial Research Complex has committed any crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, come on! Detonating a mechano-toxin bomb in our planet\u2019s atmosphere to poison the Transformers the instant they touch down, regardless of faction?! Leaving us to be unaffected?! How else should people read that?! We\u2019ve benefitted from Transformer technology before, and we\u2019re prospering more as Autobot allies than Decepticons! \u201cThen maybe,\u201d interjected Kari, \u201cyou lot should put more energy into proving it and less into acting like a bunch of over-powered stormtroopers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t recall asking you for your opinion, Kari!\u201d snarled Galen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo? How about when you guys and the Council recruited me as a mole within Hi-Q\u2019s inner circle, against my will, I might add, and also gave me the job of keeping you guys from taking rash actions against Hi-Q?! You had me take up my dual mantle to keep both parties honest, according to Llyra\u2019s disgraced predecessor!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDo I look like Zarak to you?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the moment,\u201d remarked Stylor, \u201cyou kinda do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLook, kid,\u201d interjected Kari, \u201ctake it from someone who works under him; Hi-Q\u2019s a piece of garbage and Hi-Test and Rev are the worst of his flunkies, but this ISN\u2019T the way to stop them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe must also consider the possibility,\u201d continued Llyra, \u201cthat the Industrial Research Complex has every right to be afraid of mages and Transformers-\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWHAT?!\u201d shouted Marita as her hair became hair-shaped fire and her fists were surrounded by fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c-and there is strong evidence that they have legitimate connections to the Council.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaybe to some rogue faction of our colleagues!\u201d argued Galen. \u201cThe whole Council wouldn\u2019t get involved in anything like this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey!\u201d called Kari. \u201cI\u2019m the only one in this room without superpowers of any kind, be they technological or magical, and let me tell you; you guys SCARE me! What if you superpowered guys decide to go out there and take care of whoever you think is guilty?! Who could stop you, me?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo you WANT the government to have a bunch of anti-Transformer and anti-mage weapons just to keep us in check?!\u201d asked Marita as her fire snuffed itself out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince there\u2019s a mage here who\u2019s in a place of power,\u201d Kari gestured to Llyra, \u201cwho has urged the implementation of limits on people with power, then yeah, I do!\u201d Her \u201cyeah\u201d echoed within everyone\u2019s heads. She sighed before continuing. \u201cLook, I\u2019m an Inner-ringer. You guys in the government need to do for averages citizens like what we can\u2019t do for ourselves. We sure can\u2019t protect ourselves from the likes of superpowered people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLook, we\u2019re not talking about the government!\u201d interjected Galen. \u201cWe\u2019re talking about a shadow cabinet that\u2019s taken it upon themselves to eliminate us! They came after us; we have to hit them back HARD!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of your mother\u2019s sayings leaps to mind, boy,\u201d remarked Stylor. \u201cYou know, the one about an eye for an eye leaving everyone in the universe blind?\u201d Galen was about to interject when an alarm rang through the office. Llyra pressed a button on her desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s going on?!\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSupreme Councilor!\u201d replied the person on the other end. \u201cA quartet of ships has entered our solar system! One of them is the Decepticon Flagship, the Nemesis<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRaise defenses, but do NOT fire unless we\u2019re fired upon!\u201d After ending the call, she got up and turned to her future husband and his dad. \u201cYou two better get to your partners.\u201d She then took Marita and Kari with her as Galen and Stylor headed off to meet with their binary-bond partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou\u2019re absolutely sure about the atmospheric readings?\u201d Megatron asked Shockwave as they met in his ready room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt about it,\u201d replied the Decepticon scientist as she presented her findings. \u201cThere\u2019s a large mechano-toxin density in the atmosphere. Organics are unaffected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cScrap!\u201d Megatron thumped his chair\u2019s armrest in annoyance. \u201cThe only organics we have are Morgane and Eggman! We can\u2019t afford to send troops down there!\u201d They left the ready room and returned to the bridge. \u201cRavage, open a channel to the fleet,\u201d he ordered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAt once, my Lord,\u201d replied Ravage as he keyed in a command. Soon, Eggman, Morgane, and Thundercracker appeared on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEveryone, I have bad news,\u201d began Megatron. \u201cThe Nebulans have made the atmosphere of their world toxic to mechanical life-forms. Only organics are able to thrive in it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo send us down!\u201d urged Eggman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOut of the question.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy\u2019s that, Lord Megatron?\u201d asked Thundercracker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTheir size makes it hard to get supplies in any reasonable time. They\u2019ll be discovered within an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen what are we to do?\u201d asked Morgane. \u201cAre there agents on the planet?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMost likely not, not after the last time I visited Nebulos.\u201d Megatron then recalled something. \u201c\u2026I\u2019m a fool! There ARE agents, just on Animatros!\u201d He turned to Ravage. \u201cContact Animatros. Get them to send Scorponok and his fellow Headmasters here to assist us.\u201d The Decepticons and Eggman stared at Megatron in horror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cScorponok?!\u201d yelped Thundercracker. \u201cYou\u2019re MORE than a fool, your resurrection must have caused a neural cluster to blow a massive fuse!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOn the contrary,\u201d replied Megatron, \u201cbringing them here will give us the means to carry out our plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCould someone explain what is meant by \u2018Headmaster\u2019?\u201d asked Morgane. \u201cI don\u2019t believe I\u2019m familiar with that type of Transformer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHeadmasters,\u201d explained Eggman, \u201care Transformers that are larger than the ones we know with a cyborg partner that turns into the head when they go to robot mode.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe technology,\u201d continued Megatron, \u201cwas reverse-engineered from two Metrotitans, Transformers with a city alt-mode and a smaller emissary body that they can control\u2026or are partners with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo the emissaries of these particular \u2018Metrotitans\u2019 turned into the robot\u2019s heads?\u201d asked Morgane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCorrect. However, two emissaries, Cerebros and Black Scar, gained a Nebulan partner that transform into their heads. The Metrotitans have two partners now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd it\u2019s Scorponok\u2019s partners I\u2019m afraid of!\u201d argued Thundercracker. \u201cOkay, yes, the Headmasters should have enough of an organic element to safely process the mechano-toxin, but Scorponok\u2019s mannerisms make him too deadly a force to keep on Nebulos.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOh, I\u2019m not suggesting that Scorponok himself assume robot mode on the planet\u2019s surface, I\u2019m merely suggesting that he send the smaller Headmasters and their partners to run interference.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEven so, Scorponok and the Headmasters are forbidden from leaving their current sanctuary!\u201d argued Ravage. \u201cThe Tripredacus Council\u2019s impounded them on Animatros!\u201d At this point, Megatron lost patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNot at this time! The Predacons and their ruling body are members of the Decepticon Empire, meaning I can override their decision in times of war! Now, bring Scorponok and the Headmasters here! If Ram Horn has a problem, refer him to me!
