Fanfare erupted from Trypticon City\u2019s Main Square. Starscream, His Mini-con partner Zapmaster, Skywarp, and Sunstorm were standing on a pedestal with a femme holding a crown. The femme had strange alt-mode kibble, parts of it were like a bullet train while other parts were like a shuttle. She held the crown over Starscream\u2019s head, only to think twice and pull it back. The trumpets still blasted, but Starscream became annoyed. \u201cGet on with the ceremony, Astrotrain!\u201d he snarled. The femme, Astrotrain, hesitated, then she raised the crown over Starscream\u2019s head, then she pulled it back once again. Starscream shot the trumpets out of the musicians\u2019 hands in frustration. Astrotrain took the hint and placed the crown on Starscream\u2019s head. He turned his head to check the weight, but it felt surprisingly light to him. He took it as an omen that ruling Cybertron was gonna be a breeze. He turned to the crowd. \u201cMy fellow Decepticons, as your leader, I-\u201d his speech was interrupted by the sound of two jets coming in for a landing! The jets barreled through the crowd, then stopped. \u201cWHO DISRUPTS MY CORONATION?!\u201d demanded Starscream. The two jets transformed into Thundercracker and Megatron. Thundercracker was easily recognized by Starscream and his Trine, but Megatron looked a lot different than last time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCoronation, Starscream?\u201d asked Megatron. \u201cThis is bad comedy!\u201d Starscream\u2019s optics flickered as he recognized the voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMegatron?\u201d he quizzed. \u201cIs that you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHere\u2019s a hint!\u201d Megatron activated both fusion cannons and fired at Starscream. Starscream smirked and batted the shots aside, making them explode harmlessly in the air!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDid you not think to secure the Heart of Cybertron after the crash?\u201d chuckled Starscream. \u201cI had it implanted in me while you were busy fighting the Autobots. Now, granted, I DO believe in moderation, so I won\u2019t tap into all of its power\u2026but even a fraction of its power is enough to best you!\u201d He proved his point as he fired magenta-colored lightning at Megatron from his hands. The bolt struck Megatron in the shoulder and sent him flying into a wall. Thundercracker dashed towards his Lord and helped him up. They then flew out of the coronation venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019re gonna try and leave Trypticon!\u201d called Deathsaurus. \u201cI\u2019ll give the order to pursue!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo,\u201d dismissed Starscream. \u201cPut your efforts into locating Optimus. Megatron returning to his faction in such a manner will weaken morale.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMegatron fought in the Pits of Kaon,\u201d argued Deathsaurus. \u201cHe\u2019ll recover and rally others to his cause.\u201d Starscream glowered at Deathsaurus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Matrix is more important than that badge Megatron parades around. Optimus has ways that can give him insight into us while Megatron only has a mere power enhancer. Put your efforts into locating Optimus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026At once, Lord Starscream.\u201d Deathsaurus headed off. The crowd dispersed and Skywarp and Sunstorm spoke to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe IS right, to a degree,\u201d remarked Skywarp. \u201cMegatron\u2019s good at public speaking. He\u2019ll definitely get more to his cause.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s only got crackpots on his side,\u201d replied Starscream. \u201cOptimus, meanwhile, he knows how to treat his men, making him a leader of integrity, unlike Megatron. If all goes well, the Autobots are still repairing one another.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell now, little microchip,\u201d Perceptor muttered to himself as he examined the microchip in his alt-mode\u2019s tray, \u201cwhat seems to be the matter with you today? Let me get a closer look.\u201d His holo-form adjusted the zoom lens and found the problem. \u201cHm, a blocked linkage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cQuit talking to that circuit and fix it!\u201d complained the owner of the microchip, Airazor, as they laid on a repair berth in robot mode. \u201cI can\u2019t remember a thing without it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, Perceptor, there\u2019s REAL work to be done around here!\u201d growled Grimlock in beast mode. Perceptor set aside the microchip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis IS real work,\u201d he remarked as his holo-form vanished while he transformed to bot mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReal work\u2019s crushing Cons, not fussing with chips!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf I didn\u2019t fuss with chips, you couldn\u2019t crush Decepticons.\u201d Perceptor placed the microchip into a machine and keyed a command into the nearby console. The machine then fired a stream of energy at the microchip, making it grow to a size where Perceptor had to hold it with both hands. Once the beam shut off, he took the chip and placed it onto a tray, then he fired a laser beam at the blocked linkage and started his welding job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, BAH! Any putz could do that!\u201d scoffed Grimlock. \u201cIt takes a real bot to actually fight!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey! Lay off him, Lizard Lips!\u201d snarled a woman\u2019s voice. Shahra came into the room. \u201cPerceptor\u2019s as important as any of us!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo where IS he when we\u2019re fighting?!\u201d argued Grimlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt takes more than muscle to fight,\u201d remarked Perceptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, it takes COURAGE! Or maybe that word\u2019s not in your fancy vocabulary!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLeave him alone, Grimlock,\u201d warned Shahra as she charged up her magic, \u201cor you\u2019re gonna tangle with me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, I\u2019m shaking in my proton boots!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStill blaming me for the goat incident?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou laughed at me before you turned me back!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou SHOULD be angry at Merlin! He\u2019s the one who turned you into it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s enough, all of you,\u201d called Optimus as he entered the room. \u201cShahra, Grimlock, we\u2019re rolling out. Perceptor, finish repairing Airazor, then both of you join us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut Prime, I can\u2019t go,\u201d replied Perceptor. \u201cI have too much to do here, such as setting up the food synthesizers for our organic allies!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHAH!\u201d scoffed Grimlock. \u201cThat\u2019s a good one!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right, Perceptor, stay with Tails,\u201d directed Optimus. \u201cHe\u2019s working on that project and could use some help since Swoop\u2019s joining us.\u201d Everyone then left the room, but Grimlock couldn\u2019t resist getting the last word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo long, hero!\u201d The door then closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team consisted of Optimus, Sonic, Shahra, Goldbug, Cliffjumper, Grimlock, Swoop, Rattrap, and Slash. \u201cWhat\u2019s the sit-rep, Prime?\u201d asked Goldbug as everyone was following Optimus at top speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAn energy discharge signature was detected at Trypticon City,\u201d explained Optimus. \u201cThe signature matched that of the Heart of Cybertron. If Starscream\u2019s using it, we need to stop him and lock that Heart up.\u201d Sonic gulped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat thing nearly toasted us on Gigantion!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
