\u201cBut Galvatron,\u201d argued Goldbug, \u201cour friends might be assimilated! We gotta reverse the process now!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Decepticons have a long history of going into situations half-cocked, my own father\u2019s schemes being the more recent examples that YOU, of all bots, should know, and I refuse to repeat those mistakes unless there\u2019s no other alternative. If we attack now, without any knowledge of their weaknesses, the Borg will adapt and assimilate us. I won\u2019t help on that kind of suicide run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat about the Chizarans or the Tarlaxians?\u201d asked Arsha. \u201cThey have ships.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd the Borg ships have a vinculum at the hearts of their vessels that suppress all individual thoughts and keep each drone connected to the Collective,\u201d mused Optimus. \u201cIf we can distract the Borg enough to upload that virus into multiple vinculums, it could create enough damage to the Collective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat still depends on what the virus will do,\u201d remarked Goldbug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA feedback loop,\u201d said Optimus. \u201cThe virus should tell the drones of each ship that it\u2019s time for their regeneration cycle. They\u2019ll beam aboard and begin the regeneration process, disabling their electromagnetic field and put them at minimal power. With every drone regenerating, it will cause the power net to feedback on itself and trigger a self-destruct sequence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat kind of virus won\u2019t last a long time,\u201d remarked Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt should be enough for our ships and allies to swoop in and save them,\u201d replied Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIronhide died because of an acolyte of our destroyer and Chromia died of metal fatigue. Neither death was the result of Megatron or his men.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I guess I\u2019m still bitter about what his men did when they first visited the Realms.\u201d Optimus winced at that. There wasn\u2019t anything he could say. \u201cI\u2019ll work with him to free Beyond City from the Borg, but I\u2019m not sure I can forgive or forget.\u201d Arsha left to assist in the preparations. Optimus sighed. He had a feeling that Megumi would have similar feelings for Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Optimus, Arsha, and Megatron were standing by the Gateway as the Brigadier began calling an ally. \u201cThis is Vorton on the Emergency Channel, calling Castle Spectrum on Chizara Prime. Chizara Prime, do you read?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is Rosadera, reading you loud and clear, Brigadier,\u201d replied a woman\u2019s voice that they all recognized. \u201cDoes this trouble concern the loss of communications between us and Beyond City?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt does, Rosadera,\u201d confirmed the Brigadier. \u201cAnd we have allies that helped us find out what happened. Arsha and Optimus are back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight here, Rosadera,\u201d replied Optimus. \u201cThe Borg have invaded Beyond City.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter,\u201d answered Arsha. \u201cWhat matters is that we have a plan to get them out of there, but we need your help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were pink, purple, red, blue, and green and they all turned into different humanoid shapes. The pink light turned into a woman with pink hair, eyes, and a pink dress, as well as a woman in a red dress with red eyes. The green light turned into a woman with green hair, eyes, and a greed dress as well as a woman in orange with a rodent\u2019s tail. The blue light turned into a woman with the same hair, eyes, and dress color, but possessing hair that touched the floor, and it also turned into a man with Elven features, bright green eyes, and orange-toned skin as well as a woman with white hair, a blue dress, and a white monkey tail. The purple light revealed a woman with the same hair, eyes, and dress and revealed a woman with a yellow dress and lizard tail. The red light became a woman with the same hair, eyes, and dress and became three blue-haired women in cloud dresses as well as a man in a dress. \u201cGood to see you again, My Ladies,\u201d greeted Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tarlaxians\u2019 arrival took about half an hour. Three different humanoids appeared. One was a woman with scorpion features, another was a man with eel features, and the last was a man with lobster features. They were Scorpainia, Eelinape, and Lobstornias, the ruling family of the Tarlaxians. \u201cIs it true?\u201d asked Scorpainia when she and her family met everyone. \u201cThe Borg have invaded Beyond City?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m afraid so,\u201d replied Liam. \u201cWe\u2019ve got an idea on how to get them out, but we need a plan of attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI understand you have the plans for After Academy?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI do,\u201d confirmed Scorpainia. \u201cNormally, I wouldn\u2019t even consider showing you all, but the Borg\u2019s reputation is well-known among my people. What you\u2019re about to see does not go outside the confines of this room, is that clear?\u201d Everyone nodded. Scorpainia activated a holographic display of the school with its siege protocols enacted. \u201cThe shield wall is simply the first line of defense. There are numerous guns ready to pop out of the ground should it fail. With how the Borg can adapt, it\u2019s likely that it will fall quickly. Each gun modulates its energy frequency, but it\u2019s never been tested on how effective it is against Borg vessels, just the drones. There are also mines that can be deployed, both underground and in the air. We need to weaken the Borg\u2019s adaptability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s where our plan comes in,\u201d offered Optimus. \u201cIf we can get aboard a vessel, we can find its vinculum and introduce a virus that will trigger a self-destruct command on all Borg vessels in the vicinity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen we need a small strike team,\u201d said the Brigadier as he pulled up another holographic display, this time displaying the Borg Siege in real time. \u201cIt looks like there\u2019s a machine on the outskirts of the wall that matches all known descriptions of a Borg vinculum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat will make uploading the virus easier,\u201d mused Optimus. \u201cOnce the virus is uploaded and enough Borg vessels are destroyed, our ships swoop in and mop up the rest of the Borg.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
