The next day, everyone was at After Academy, awaiting Megumi\u2019s rift. As they waited, Megumi was thinking about a rousing speech when someone grabbed her arm. She gasped and whirled to see Kaede and Kaitlyn\u2019s concerned faces. \u201cYou ARE gonna remember your team, right Okaa-san?\u201d asked Kaede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Your father told you,\u201d said Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMama, that was reckless!\u201d snapped Kaitlyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe risk was well calculated!\u201d Megumi snapped her arm out of Kaede\u2019s grasp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSorry to say, but you were terrible at math at that point,\u201d remarked Kaede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou said it was for our freedom, well it would have been worthless without you,\u201d said Kaitlyn. \u201cI understand the sentiment and I\u2019m glad you want to keep us safe, but you have friends that want to keep you safe as well. At least take someone with you if you\u2019re planning on doing that again, please. Promise us.\u201d Megumi\u2019s eyes misted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026All right, girls. I promise.\u201d She hugged her daughters. The embrace ended in short order. \u201cNow, Kaede, we got work to do.\u201d The rift then opened. \u201cMinna! Ikuze!\u201d called Megumi. Her teammates then gathered. \u201cI\u2019ve missed saying this! CHARGE!\u201d The team charged straight into the rift, giving off various battle cries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rift deposited the team in a 21st<\/sup> century American town. Optimus, Glyph, and Sky Runner connected to the internet and got the location. \u201cWe\u2019re somewhere in the American Southwest,\u201d remarked Glyph, \u201cbut that doesn\u2019t explain the coastal city temperatures around here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLooks like electric cars are just beginning to take off here, but gasoline engines are still the norm,\u201d reported Sky Runner. \u201cWe should scan earth vehicles, Daddy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNot a good idea at this time,\u201d said Megumi. \u201cWe\u2019d lose precious time in finding vehicles to match your frames. We need to move quickly. Besides, it wouldn\u2019t be the first time aliens came here, if I remember the universe\u2019s identifier string right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cReally?\u201d asked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCheck the name of the area.\u201d Optimus\u2019 optics flickered, then he looked it up. His optics then widened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBellwood?!\u201d he asked. Megumi grinned. \u201cYou mean we\u2019re-?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLOOK OUT!\u201d cried a woman as she ran, bringing other townsfolk with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cINCOMING!\u201d warned Sora as he pointed to the sky. A big yellow ball was hurtling towards them. Megumi and her team dove out of the way as the ball hit the pavement hard, making a small crater. The ball bounced a bit before it unfolded into a broad-shouldered creature with a face set between his shoulders, an armored backside, and claws on his hands and feet. He had a black circle on his chest with a green hourglass symbol in the middle. The creature picked himself up and dusted himself off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou try and enjoy a Mr. Smoothie and then an alien warlord shows up!\u201d he grunted. He then glared at the symbol on his chest. \u201cAnd you\u2019re stuck with a watch that has a mind of his own! Omnitrix, I was trying to disable his suit! I really wanted Gray Matter!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBEN!\u201d called Megumi. The creature looked up and saw Megumi and her team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMegumi!\u201d he called back. \u201cLong time no see! How\u2019re you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoing fine! Who are you fighting?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTENNYSON!\u201d roared a voice. The owner of the voice then landed, making a crater on impact. It was a burly humanoid with green skin, a bald head, and a tentacle beard. He was dressed in alien armor and his red eyes were blazing with hatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNever mind, I can guess,\u201d said Megumi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cVilly, we really gotta do this?\u201d complained the round creature, Ben Tennyson as Cannonbolt. \u201cIt\u2019s dull now. You show up and say you\u2019re gonna kill me and take the Omnitrix, I fight you, I win, you get thrown in prison, you break out, rinse and repeat!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis time will be different, Tennyson!\u201d snarled the alien warlord, Vilgax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMr. Vilgax, you ever heard of the definition of insanity?\u201d asked Optimus. Vilgax got a good look at the group, then focused on the three Autobots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMore Transformers?\u201d he rumbled. He then grinned. \u201cGood! One of my partners will be eager to see you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, that\u2019s disconcerting,\u201d muttered Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWant some help, Mr. Ben?\u201d asked Arsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSure!\u201d replied Cannonbolt. \u201cWhat\u2019s your name?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m Arsha Royana, Queen of the Mid-realm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNice to meet you! Now, let\u2019s kick some squid butt!\u201d Cannonbolt folded into his ball form and launched himself at Vilgax. Vilgax caught him, but Megumi and her fellow Riders fastened their belts on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cVortex Driver!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCrysta Driver!\u201d Charline and Amelia each pulled out a phone and keyed in a code. The phones spoke the codes aloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cZero! Zero! Zero! Orange!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cZero! Zero! Zero! Green!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHenshin!\u201d the Riders announced. Charline\u2019s change consisted of orange light surrounding her before black Roman Soldier armor materialized around her. Amelia\u2019s was the same, but the light surrounding her was green instead of orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd the Vortex Riders arrive! Good!\u201d chuckled Vilgax as he shoved Cannonbolt aside. \u201cAnother associate of mine would like to meet you again! One I\u2019m sure you\u2019re familiar with! Wish to speak your catchphrases?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019ll humor you this once, Vilgax!\u201d hissed Royal. \u201cKamen Rider Royal! Evil will ultimately bow to me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKamen Rider Seeker!\u201d called Xiomara. \u201cIt\u2019s not gold I seek, but your end!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKamen Rider Shade,\u201d said Kaede. \u201cYou will be blinded by shadows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKamen Rider Herald O!\u201d called Charline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKamen Rider Herald G!\u201d announced Amelia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe bring news of your defeat!\u201d they said together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGet him!\u201d called Royal. Everyone charged at Vilgax. He fired lasers from his eyes, but it did no good. Everyone got out of the way. Optimus then grabbed him and threw him in the air. Arsha summoned her armor and leapt into the air before firing a magic blast at his back, sending him down. Cannonbolt then slapped the Omnitrix symbol, and he changed into a different creature. This time, he was a twelve-foot-tall, humanoid, dinosaur-like creature with brown scales and a tail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHUMUNGOUSAUR!\u201d he shouted. He then grew and expanded to nearly three times his original size and gained stegosaur plates along his back, then he punched Vilgax into the pavement a few times. When he stopped, Vilgax groaned in defeat. \u201cAnd that, as they say, is that,\u201d rumbled Humungousaur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cStill calling out your alien names, huh Ben?\u201d muttered Royal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cActually, that\u2019s the result of the Omnitrix,\u201d replied Humungousaur. Speaking of which, the Omnitrix symbol flashed red. \u201cThat\u2019s what I call timing!\u201d He then shrunk down into a young man with brown hair and green eyes. He wore a square-faced wristwatch on his left arm and his face had his usual cocky smirk. \u201cBack to Incarcecon with you, Squidhead.\u201d He slapped a pair of handcuffs on Vilgax\u2019s wrists. Vilgax then chuckled. \u201c\u2026Okay, that\u2019s always a bad sign!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt won\u2019t happen now,\u201d remarked Vilgax, \u201cbut my allies will come for you soon! You\u2019ll see!\u201d The cuffs then activated a teleporter and took Vilgax away. Ben then used the Omnitrix to call his friends in the Plumbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPlumber HQ, Vilgax mentioned something about a future breakout,\u201d he warned. \u201cBetter conduct all sorts of security sweeps.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis is Rook, message received, and I am preparing security sweeps,\u201d replied a man on the other end of the call. \u201cThat means you will be searched at times.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGood idea, Rook. Can\u2019t risk bringing in anything Vilgax could use. I\u2019ll be bringing in some old friends from other universes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnderstood.\u201d The call then ended. Ben then turned to Megumi\u2019s group with his usual grin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEnough about that, let\u2019s get some Mr. Smoothies!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unbeknownst to the team, they were being watched. A strange, purple sports car was idling in an alleyway. The driver, shrouded in the shadows of the cockpit, switched a radio on. \u201cMy friends, Vilgax is currently in Plumber HQ.\u201d he said in a rather young-sounding voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGood,\u201d replied a man on the other end. \u201cThen the plan is working. The breakout will keep our enemies out of our hair long enough for us to snatch and grab Life! Make your way to Plumber HQ at once!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019d advise you to remember that we\u2019re partners,\u201d warned the driver, \u201cnot master and flunky.\u201d He hung up and drove off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Khan saw the whole thing.
