\u201c\u2026I think that island to the southeast might take you up on that,\u201d said Hot Rod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMisty Island? Why do you say that?\u201d asked Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause there\u2019s some sort of repeated explosions happening there.\u201d Hot Rod pointed to the island and Megatron activated his optics\u2019 zoom function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026It\u2019s another cannon, aimed at the large Dark Eco Silo below,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2026But that\u2019s not Lurker technology. I can\u2019t make out the cannon operators. Maybe I can get a look at the shores.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHang on,\u201d said Kiera, \u201cthe warp gate\u2019s activated again.\u201d What came out of the warp gate wasn\u2019t Jak and his group, but a purple, primate looking creature in dark colored robes. It had glowing yellow eyes, a large mane, and skin colored spurs along its jaw line. It wore a pair of glasses and thick gloves. Kiera smiled. \u201cDrebber!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy dear Kiera!\u201d replied the creature, the current Dark Eco Sage, Drebber the Babak Lurker. \u201cIt\u2019s so good to see you again!\u201d He then saw the people with her and adjusted his glasses. \u201c\u2026I didn\u2019t realize you were hosting a party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was quite impromptu for all parties,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh, so you had business and it was happenstance that had you and your group cross paths?\u201d guessed Drebber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSomething like that,\u201d replied Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, I\u2019m sorry to say that this isn\u2019t a social call either,\u201d sighed Drebber. \u201cRecently, my home was contacted by a race of machines. They weren\u2019t exactly KG-built nor was any Metal Head or Dark Maker technology detected, but they demanded access to the Dark Eco Silo. Naturally, I said no, but then they threatened to kill us if we didn\u2019t comply.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWere they machines like us?\u201d asked Galvatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, they were just a few inches shorter than Kiera. They seemed to have a plunger and an egg whisk for weapons, and they had lights on their dome that flashed on every syllable whenever they spoke. I think they called themselves-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDaleks!\u201d hissed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDaleks? Wanting Dark Eco?\u201d Megatron looked out to Misty Island again, reactivated his zoom function, and focused on the cannon. \u201c\u2026I knew I recognized the technology! It\u2019s definitely Dalek built!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMr. Drebber, you need to evacuate your home!\u201d insisted the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat?!\u201d protested Drebber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know what the Daleks want with the Dark Eco Silo, but it can\u2019t be good and they will exterminate every single inhabitant of this planet to get their way!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cListen to her,\u201d urged Megatron. \u201cThe Doctor has fought the Daleks for millennia!\u201d As they talked, Jak and his team returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right, now that we\u2019ve got that out of the way,\u201d he said, \u201cit\u2019s time to\u2026Drebber?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh, Mr. Jak! Excellent!\u201d said Drebber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJak, did you find anything on Geyser Rock?\u201d asked the Doctor. \u201cAnything at all?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Now that you mention it, we DID find some sort of tech,\u201d said Jak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t Precursor tech OR Dark Maker crap,\u201d supplied Daxter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSam called it \u2018Skarosian\u2019,\u201d said Farmee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt looked like a Dalek communications hub, Doctor,\u201d explained Sam. He pulled out his phone and showed the Doctor the pictures he took.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I hate it when someone is right like that, especially concerning Daleks,\u201d she sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHere\u2019s something that confused me, though,\u201d continued Sam. \u201cThe hub was abandoned. No Daleks whatsoever on Geyser Rock.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh?\u201d asked the Doctor. She then stroked her chin. \u201c\u2026Well, no sense in letting this opportunity go to waste!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor?\u201d asked Farmee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFarmee, Sam, Jack, I think we better go to Geyser Rock and check out that communications hub,\u201d declared the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRunning interference, eh?\u201d guessed Farmee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlways a good thing to do, concerning the Daleks. Come on!\u201d The Doctor, Farmee, Sam, and Jack went in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWait, you don\u2019t-!\u201d protested Jak. He rolled his eyes when they all went through. \u201cFor Precursors\u2019 sake! Come on, Dax!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWait a minute, we\u2019re going back there?!\u201d argued Daxter. Jak took Daxter through the warp gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everyone arrived on an island with tall rock faces, geysers, and grass growing everywhere. \u201cAll right, whereabouts is the communications hub?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy an old Precursor door up the rocks,\u201d replied Jak. \u201cJust opposite of a Blue Eco Vent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBlue Eco?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019ll see along the way,\u201d said Farmee. The team headed up the giant rock faces. Along the way, the Doctor saw the giant, insect-faced robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAny clue as to where they came from?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Precursor robots?\u201d asked Jak. \u201cThey were initially created by the Precursors as a means of defense against their enemies, like the Dark Makers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat ARE the Dark Makers?\u201d asked Farmee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019re basically Precursors, but evil,\u201d replied Daxter. \u201cLet me tell you, I kind of got a bit of Dark Maker in me, thanks to the Aeropans\u2019 Dark Warrior program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA more successful version of Haven City\u2019s Dark Warrior program,\u201d growled Daxter. \u201cThe idea is to pump a person full of Dark Eco to make the perfect warrior. I was the only one to survive the Haven City version and Duke Skyheed of Aeropa managed to turn everyone into people like me.\u201d Jak then jumped and jumped again when his first jump reached its apex, making him go higher to reach the ledge he was aiming for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat the?!\u201d yelped the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow did you-?!\u201d spluttered Jack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not limited to him,\u201d said Farmee. \u201cIt\u2019s called a double-jump. Watch.\u201d Farmee then double-jumped to the ledge! The Doctor tapped her chin, then double-jumped to the ledge as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaybe the gravity\u2019s lighter here,\u201d mused Jack as he double-jumped to the ledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt sure feels that way,\u201d remarked the Doctor. \u201cSo that\u2019s jumping, what about-?\u201d She didn\u2019t look where she was going and stepped onto a spike in a shallow pit! She yelped in pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou okay?\u201d asked Sam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJust a prick of the foot,\u201d she replied, hopping on one foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a fix for that just up ahead,\u201d said Daxter. He pointed to a few droplets of a green, glowing substance. \u201cThere it is! Sweet, sweet Green Eco!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGo on,\u201d Jak instructed the Doctor. \u201cTouch it.\u201d The Doctor did so and\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026It\u2019s gone!\u201d she said as she examined her foot. \u201cMy injury\u2019s gone!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGreen Eco is known as the Eco of Life,\u201d explained Jak. \u201cIt can restore health, act as a limited cure to Dark Eco Corruption, and heal injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFascinating!\u201d said the Doctor. \u201c\u2026But this doesn\u2019t seem like an Eco Type the Daleks would care about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAre these Daleks really that bad?\u201d asked Daxter. \u201cI can take them on by my-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, you can\u2019t,\u201d interrupted the Doctor. \u201cThe Daleks are ruthless, pitiless killers. All Non-Daleks, from children to adults, are exterminated. I\u2019ve seen them wipe out entire galactic empires in their war against life. You\u2019d be dead if you continued with that kind of false bravado, Daxter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Charming,\u201d muttered Jak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight, enough of that,\u201d said the Doctor as her attention was grabbed by crackling, blue energy ahead. \u201cWhat\u2019s that over there?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBlue Eco, the Eco of movement,\u201d explained Jak. \u201cYou touch that stuff and you\u2019ll be able to move faster, jump higher, and open certain Precursor doors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy is it that blue is associated with speed?\u201d mused the Doctor. She then went over and touched it, then her brain began thinking faster as her body moved faster! \u201cAmazing!\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m feeling no ill effects!\u201d She pretty much led the way to a door.
