\u201cYes, finding DNA that isn\u2019t from your home planet is rather like finding your home star in a galaxy. You said you found the strand here on Monster Island?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, around Gojira\u2019s cave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGoji-? Oh, yes!\u201d The Doctor remembered the original Japanese name for the most famous Kaiju in existence. \u201cWell, that\u2019s a good place to-!\u201d She opened the lab\u2019s door and there was the tall woman pointing a gun at her. \u201cAh, how do you do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBack away, Time Lord,\u201d replied the woman. \u201cYou will listen to and obey my instructions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I don\u2019t believe I\u2019ve had the pleasure,\u201d remarked the Doctor. \u201cIt\u2019s terribly stuffy in here. I don\u2019t think you should carry something so heavy.\u201d She knocked the gun out of the woman\u2019s hand. The woman then tried to perform a knife-hand strike to the Doctor\u2019s throat, but the Doctor blocked and toppled the woman. The woman then tripped up the Doctor and reached for the gun, but Yoshimura took it away. The Doctor then pressed her thumb onto the back of the woman\u2019s neck. The woman started convulsing, then the skin split away to reveal another life form, humanoid with gray skin, black veins running up and down the body, and a faceless, angular head. Yoshimura and the Doctor gasped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cXilien!\u201d they said. Yoshimura then looked at the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou met them?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey were much more civilized before they allowed a computer to command their rulers,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cAnd I do believe her DNA has the same base pairs as our mystery DNA.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCouldn\u2019t hurt to check,\u201d mused Yoshimura. He went to get a slide prepared, but the Xilien sprang to life again and grabbed him by the throat, retrieving the gun and pressing it to his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWAIT!\u201d called the Doctor. A distorted voice then came from the Xilien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYoshimura\u2019s not my only hostage, Time Lord,\u201d she warned. \u201cYour three dark-skinned friends are with me. Unless you obey my instructions, this base will be painted gray. Brain matter gray. Understood?\u201d Well, that put the Doctor in a bit of a pickle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Very well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI knew you\u2019d see things my way,\u201d remarked the Xilien. \u201cCome with me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Sato walked through the EDF base, looking for Professor Yoshimura. As she looked, she accidentally bumped into Commander Takahashi. \u201cOh! Sorry, Commander!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was the one that wasn\u2019t paying attention,\u201d replied Takahashi. \u201cIt\u2019s my fault. Although, now that you\u2019re here, have you seen Commander Smith?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo. I was going to ask you if you saw Professor Yoshimura. He\u2019s not in his lab. \u2026Come to think of it, neither is that Doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd I haven\u2019t seen Dr. Smith or Dr. Davies either,\u201d remarked Takahashi. \u201cSomething\u2019s wrong.\u201d He activated a nearby wall-mounted comms unit. \u201cAll hands, this is Commander Takahashi. Our UNIT Europe allies, Professor Yoshimura, and the American civilian doctor are missing. I want this base searched from top to bottom.\u201d Soldiers and scientists all over began a search at that order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Xilien was using a jeep to transport her hostages to a huge mountain with a titanic-sized cave opening up. \u201cGojira\u2019s cave!\u201d whispered Yoshimura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs anybody home?\u201d asked Martha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s always resting in there at this time of day,\u201d replied Yoshimura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGot his naps mapped out, hm?\u201d chuckled the Doctor. The Xilien then pressed a button and the jeep\u2019s engine went quiet while still moving. \u201cDon\u2019t want to wake a slumbering titan, hm?\u201d guessed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s proven to be a useful watchdog, even if he\u2019s an unwitting one,\u201d replied the Xilien. The jeep then drove into the main cavern. There, slumbering on the cave floor with his head resting on a rock shelf, was a massive, charcoal-gray lizard with oak-leaf shaped dorsal plates running down to the tip of his tail. He had hands with massive claws on each fingertip and talons on each of his toes on his foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Godzilla,\u201d whispered William almost reverently. Yes, this was the King of the Monsters. Every time Godzilla snored, his lips curled back so one could see his sharp teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNever thought I\u2019d see him this close,\u201d shuddered Mickey. The jeep stopped by the rock wall near Godzilla\u2019s hindquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOut,\u201d ordered the Xilien. Her hostages got out as she revealed a hidden keypad. She typed a code in and part of the rock wall slid away to reveal an elevator. \u201cIn,\u201d she ordered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTeatime already?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor!\u201d protested Martha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTrust me, I know what I\u2019m doing,\u201d soothed the Doctor. She and her group entered the elevator. The Xilien then pressed the down button, the elevator doors closed, and the elevator went down. Unbeknownst to them\u2026Godzilla was not as asleep as they thought! He opened a blazing amber eye! He could sense a threat coming and the tiny gray one was leading the forces responsible for it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The base was searched from top to bottom. A Lieutenant spoke with Takahashi and Sato. \u201cSorry, Sir,\u201d he said, \u201cbut we can\u2019t find them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019re somewhere on this island,\u201d insisted Sato. \u201cThat blue box the Doctor travels in is still here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKeep up the search,\u201d ordered Takahashi. \u201cWe\u2019ll search the island after an hour if they\u2019re not here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, Sir,\u201d replied the Lieutenant. He saluted and left. Takahashi then looked to Sato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou UNIT people always vanish at the worst times!\u201d he complained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019re supposed to protect Earth from extraterrestrial threats,\u201d replied Sato. \u201cMaybe the Doctor found one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026If she did, she might have been kidnapped by said threat,\u201d muttered Takahashi. He called up the security room. \u201c\u2026Takahashi here. Are there cameras in the lab? \u2026Pull up recent footage. \u2026What?! Yuki?! \u2026A Xilien?!\u201d Sato\u2019s eyes widened behind her glasses when she heard the word \u201cXilien\u201d. \u201cAnd she has Professor Yoshimura as a hostage?! \u2026Can you see where she went?! \u2026That would account for the jeep missing! Where did it go?! \u2026I\u2019m sorry, the cave?! \u2026Get a team organized! We\u2019re going to the cave!\u201d He hung up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy would she take them to Gojira\u2019s cave?\u201d muttered Sato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhatever the reason is,\u201d replied Takahashi, \u201cit\u2019s not gonna be a good one. And if the Xiliens are here, they may summon that cyborg chicken of theirs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou are correct,\u201d said two women\u2019s voices in unison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWho said that?!\u201d yelped Takahashi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLook!\u201d called Sato as she pointed out two women, dressed as island priestesses and about two inches tall on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Shobijin?!\u201d gasped Takahashi. \u201cSo Mothra\u2019s getting involved?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe has no choice,\u201d replied the two tiny beauties, the Shobijin. \u201cHer greatest enemy is returning thanks to the Xiliens\u2019 control. Earth must be protected. She is bringing one who was once human and now lives as a plant Kaiju.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlant Kaiju?\u201d muttered Sato. \u201c\u2026Biollante?! She fought Gojira!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow the younger sister of Godzilla must fight with him and Mothra to defeat the Xiliens\u2019 servant. And Godzilla will have to work with the Kaiju of Time, the Timeless Child.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Timeless Child?\u201d asked Takahashi. \u201cNever heard of that Kaiju.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou met her, Takahashi,\u201d said the Shobijin. \u201cShe arrived in that blue box of hers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026The Doctor?\u201d asked Sato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of which, the Doctor and her group were led out of the elevator with other Xiliens in human disguises working various instruments. One of them, a male, looked over and saw the group. \u201cController, you brought humans here?!\u201d he protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cController?\u201d asked Yoshimura. \u201cOur kidnapper is your leader?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am,\u201d replied the Xilien woman. \u201cAnd to answer your question, Commander, that particular woman,\u201d she pointed to the Doctor, \u201cis a Time Lord.\u201d All Xiliens stopped their work to gawk at the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA Time Lord?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI thought the Daleks killed them all!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, my family\u2019s waited EONS for this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh dear, the memory of the Xiliens is rather long,\u201d muttered the Doctor. She turned to her companions. \u201cDuring the Dark Times, the Time Lords and Xiliens went to war. We devastated their home planet, practically boiling their seas\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWater is more precious than gold to us,\u201d explained the Xilien Controller. She then turned to a subordinate. \u201cRe-skin me.\u201d The subordinate typed in computer commands on his console, then a tube appeared from the floor. The Xilien Controller then stepped into the tube. The tube shut and light spilled out from its seams. After a minute, the light faded and the Controller, now wearing her old human disguise, stepped out. She was now wearing a leather trench coat as well as black military gear. \u201cMuch better,\u201d she said. A Xilien then handed her a pair of visor-style glasses. She put them on and grinned. \u201cWhat do you think?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCan you get on with the gloating, please?\u201d groaned the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd give you an opportunity to thwart me?\u201d scoffed the Controller. \u201cNo. I\u2019m saving my gloating for after we harvest you lot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHarvest us?!\u201d yelped William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
