Within that workshop worked a strange creature. It had pointy ears, yellow fur on its young, humanoid body, white fur on its torso and muzzle, and, most interestingly of all, two fox tails! The creature called itself Miles Prower, Tails to his friends. He was pouring over the blueprints of a biplane, trying to see if he can make it better. \u201c\u2026Maybe the Chaos Engine\u2026no, that\u2019s already been overhauled. \u2026What about the Turbo\u2026no. \u2026Dang it! What do I need to do to make the Tornado better?!\u201d he snapped. He was about to throw a wrench in frustration when he saw something pop up on his radar. The icon looked like a fat man\u2019s face with a terrible moustache. \u201c\u2026Now what are you up to, Eggman?\u201d muttered Tails as he examined the readings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TARDIS, a wonderful machine that can take anyone to any place in any time zone. Right now, the owner of the craft, the Doctor, was sitting in a nice chair and reading a book in her library. William was reading as well. \u201c\u2026When you said leisurely,\u201d William finally muttered, \u201cyou weren\u2019t kidding. How long have we been in the time vortex?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCouple hours,\u201d replied the Doctor. She closed the book she was reading and got up. \u201cNothing like a little downtime after all the adventures we just had.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTrue that,\u201d agreed William. \u201cMy part of human civilization seems to value overworking themselves to death over proper rest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou\u2019ll all grow out of that; I can assure you.\u201d The Doctor climbed a ladder to put the book back on its shelf. \u201cIt WILL take a while, but you will.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe fact that you said we grow into an interstellar superpower somewhat gives me hope that we still survive and learn.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s why I like humans. You always evolve and change, discover new things! The Time Lords forgot that during our long existence.\u201d She then gasped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDoctor?\u201d asked William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOh no!\u201d whispered the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?!\u201d William was more concerned now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe <em>Twilight<\/em> series by Stephanie Meyer!\u201d explained the Doctor. \u201cWhat are these books doing in my library?! One of my enemies must have snuck them in here when they managed to gain access to the TARDIS! Their wickedness knows no bounds!\u201d She took all the <em>Twilight<\/em> books off the shelves, put them on a table, then keyed in a computer command. The books then vanished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDid you vaporize them?\u201d asked William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, the bibliophile in me would weep at the burning of books,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cI simply had them moved to the forbidden section of the TARDIS library.\u201d The TARDIS then made its arrival thud. \u201cAha! We\u2019ve landed!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Doctor and William returned to the Console Room and the Doctor checked some readings. \u201cAtmosphere\u2019s earth-like\u2026time zone\u2019s roughly five\u2026six million years into your future\u2026gravity\u2019s earth-like\u2026radiation\u2019s good\u2026let\u2019s see what the scanner says.\u201d The scanner switched on to reveal a grassy plain with stone loops. \u201cAha! Mobius!\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cA million years ago, this current time frame, Earth gets roasted after the sun blows up. The last vestiges of humanity\u2019s cradle is gone. But there are colonies out there among the stars, some taking on weird properties. You see, three million years ago, this planet, Mobius, was bombarded with radiation that mutated select animals into humanoid shapes and brain patterns. Some of them even developed special powers. I\u2019ve never been here before, so let\u2019s go exploring!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWow, a first for the both of us!\u201d chuckled William. The two of them headed to the door\u2026then the TARDIS lurched thanks to something hitting the exterior dimensions hard! The Doctor and William were knocked to the floor from the impact. \u201cWhat was that?! Did something hit us?!\u201d yelped William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSure seems like it,\u201d said the Doctor once she pulled herself up using the console to steady herself. She checked the readings again. \u201c\u2026Yep, something hit us at a speed fast enough to create a sonic boom,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s\u2026still by the TARDIS. \u2026Rassilon\u2019s beard! It\u2019s a Mobian Hedgehog! It\u2019s badly hurt!\u201d William wasted no time in grabbing the TARDIS medical kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Doctor and William had brought the Hedgehog to the TARDIS medical room. It was a male about three feet tall, blue, wore red shoes and sneakers, and his eyes were connected to each other. The hedgehog groaned after a while and rubbed his head. \u201cMan,\u201d he groaned, \u201cwhat did I run into?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMy ship,\u201d explained the Doctor nearby. \u201cWe accidentally set ourselves on your path. I do apologize, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOogh, my head!\u201d complained the hedgehog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou ran into it pretty fast,\u201d remarked William as he brought over painkillers and water. The hedgehog slowly accepted them, popped the pills in his mouth, and washed them down with the water. \u201cOur sensors,\u201d continued William, \u201csaid that you ran at us at sonic speeds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHeh, that\u2019s how I roll,\u201d replied the hedgehog with a weak smile. \u201cGotta go fast. \u2026Hey, the headache\u2019s going away fast.\u201d The hedgehog was now looking visibly better, his eyes now totally taking in his surroundings. \u201c\u2026Definitely not a Mobian ship,\u201d remarked the hedgehog. \u201cYou guys aliens?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe\u2019s the alien,\u201d replied William as he pointed to the Doctor. \u201cI\u2019m a human, just not from Mobius.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOne of the colonies, then?\u201d asked the hedgehog. \u201cWhat\u2019s this ship called, anyways?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTARDIS,\u201d answered the Doctor. \u201cTime and Relative Dimensions in Space.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026Time? Like\u2026time travelers from the future?\u201d quizzed the hedgehog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t know what time she\u2019s from,\u201d remarked William, \u201cbut I\u2019m from Earth circa 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think we\u2019re all forgetting something here,\u201d interjected the Doctor. \u201cI\u2019m the Doctor. This is Dr. William Davies. You are\u2026?\u201d The hedgehog grinned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m Sonic!\u201d he said. The Doctor\u2019s eyes widened in joyful surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSonic the Hedgehog himself!\u201d she whispered. She turned to William. \u201cSonic\u2019s saved Mobius millions of times from a deranged scientist,\u201d she explained. \u201cHe\u2019s a hero on this planet!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYep! Fastest thing alive!\u201d boasted Sonic as he got off the bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHey, whoa there!\u201d yelped William. \u201cThere\u2019s no way you\u2019re fit yet!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI wouldn\u2019t worry,\u201d assured the Doctor. \u201cMobians have a quicker healing rate than humans. It takes a lot of damage to put a Mobian out of action for long periods of time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAin\u2019t that the truth,\u201d confirmed Sonic. \u201cThanks for the help, but I gotta meet Tails. That scientist I always fight is starting something again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhy don\u2019t we come with you?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSure, if you can keep up,\u201d chuckled Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trio left the TARDIS after one last checkup for Sonic (William\u2019s insistence). \u201cCome on, you heard Doctor\u2026Doctor\u2026um, Doctor who?\u201d asked Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust the Doctor,\u201d replied the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s seriously how people address her,\u201d said William. \u201cAnd I couldn\u2019t take the chance. Sometimes people with good healing factors have bad days. And I speak from experience. I once had to visit Charles Xavier\u2019s School for Gifted Youngsters (a really popular haven for anyone in my time nowadays) and treat Wolverine. Woo! He was a tough patient!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell, it\u2019s nice to\u2026to\u2026\u201d Sonic trailed off when he saw the exterior of the TARDIS. \u201c\u2026H-Hold on.\u201d He went back inside, then went outside again and walked around the TARDIS. \u201c\u2026It\u2019s\u2026It\u2019s\u2026bigger on the inside?!\u201d yelped Sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIs it?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe hadn\u2019t noticed,\u201d chuckled William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut\u2026HOW-?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s just a headache for us non-Time Lords,\u201d interrupted William. \u201cNow, your friend\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOh, yeah!\u201d recalled Sonic. \u201cCome on! This way!\u201d Sonic took off, leaving a trail behind for the Doctor and William to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u2026I guess we\u2019re running,\u201d sighed the Doctor. She and William followed Sonic\u2019s trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over in a city of machines, one of now two organic life-forms cackled. This was an overly obese human man with a beaky nose, a terrible moustache, glasses, goggles on his scalp, a red and white jacket, and black pants and boots. This was Sonic\u2019s main enemy, Dr. Julian Ivo \u201cEggman\u201d Robotnik. \u201cOh, this is just too rich!\u201d he cackled. \u201cThat blue box appeared right as you said it would! There\u2019s no denying it now! The secrets of time shall be mine! And I have you to thank for that, my dear!\u201d Eggman was talking to the other organic life form, a human-looking woman with platinum blonde hair and dressing in a pink and white Lolita outfit, complete with wide skirt laden with petticoats and a frilly headband. She looked terrified. \u201cMetal Sonic!\u201d called Eggman. Sonic\u2019s robotic duplicate stomped into the room, his optics surveying the place. \u201cGet our guest ready!\u201d Metal Sonic then grabbed the woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo! Wait!\u201d pleaded the woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNow, now, Miss Tarae, it\u2019s all very simple!\u201d cackled Eggman. \u201cI use you and Miss Rose as bait for both Sonic and the owner of that box, they surrender, and the secrets of time and space are mine to command!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou better let us go, Egg-breath!\u201d snapped another woman\u2019s voice. This woman was a pink hedgehog with a red dress, boots, and headband, Amy Rose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd why, pray tell, should I do that?\u201d cackled Eggman. \u201cTime and space are now mine for the taking!\u201d He cackled as another robot grabbed Amy and carted her away in the general direction of Miss Tarae.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a grassy field stood a workshop.
