She made sure the bodice revealed her cleavage, but still obscured her nipples. She floofed the petticoats in her skirt and checked to make sure her midriff wasn\u2019t obscured, then she checked her makeup. Perfectly spooky for the upcoming month and the party. Lord Dravis Goodblood and his wife were attending and she wanted them in her bedchambers. All that was left was her hat. It was a traditional witch hat. She tilted it so that her hair flower was still in view. \u201cThere we go,\u201d she purred. She then heard a knock on her door. \u201cCome in,\u201d she said. Sanliel then came in. She was dressed as a sexy vampire with a skirt, hair rose, bodice, and cloak. \u201cAh, a Vampire Elf maiden, hm?\u201d purred Ssylphiel with approval. \u201cBut why the worried face? Afraid I\u2019ll hoard Dravis and his wife? They asked after you. I think they\u2019d approve of an Elf maiden in our chambers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, this costume was a gift from Lord and Lady Goodblood, and I\u2019m glad to hear I\u2019m invited for a little bedtime fun with them and you,\u201d said Sanliel, \u201cbut that\u2019s not why I\u2019m worried.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen what troubles your mind, my little Sanliel?\u201d cooed Ssylphiel as she started coiling the Elf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s\u2026well it\u2019s not exactly a sexy matter,\u201d replied Sanliel. She pulled out a rock. \u201cI finally teased out why your blessing box had this. It\u2019s from my cousin, Benvar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe soldier boy? I remember him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m sure you had fun with him, but this is gonna make you want to stay away from him. It\u2019s a cursed rock and he wants you to bless it with a cage of iron.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, he wants me to undo a curse? \u2026Iron doesn\u2019t exactly stop curses, but Ancestral Silver-\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, he wants you to enhance the curse\u2019s potency.\u201d Ssylphiel arched an eyebrow in confusion. She took the rock from Sanliel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t normally do something like that,\u201d she muttered as she coiled Sanliel up to her chest, pinning her arms to her sides. \u201cCome to think of it, why would he want any Divine Being to enhance this thing\u2019s curse?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cElven beliefs,\u201d explained Sanliel, \u201csay that if you can get someone to accept a cursed item as a gift, the curse will transfer to the person.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know, I think I\u2019ve seen that in action,\u201d mused Ssylphiel. \u201cBut\u2026what kind of curse could be on a rock?\u201d Sanliel hesitated in answering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026That rock\u2019s from the Battlefield of Eternal Tears,\u201d she finally said. Ssylphiel threw the rock across the room and slithered at top speed to a corner the furthest away from the rock! That battlefield was the site of the bloodiest battle in the history of the world and was aptly named!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJust why would your cousin want to pass that kind of hot karma on to someone else?!\u201d she yelped. \u201cA cursed rock from that place doesn\u2019t NEED enhancing!\u201d She heard gasping and realized she tightened her tail\u2019s grip on Sanliel\u2019s neck, cutting off her air! She relaxed her coils and Sanliel caught her breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBenvar\u2026\u201d she gasped, \u201chad a childhood buddy. \u2026They turned on each other over a woman that turned them both down. They\u2019re both active-duty military and his former friend\u2019s unit is about to deploy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Have you summoned the Tree Guard?\u201d asked Ssylphiel. \u201cBecause I\u2019m NOT blessing this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDid so the instant I got the details. Benvar\u2019s been arrested for stealing from a historical site and the Tree Guard, last I heard, is about an hour away from our northern borders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tree Guard arrived at the palace gates in two hours. They were a combined Elf and Dryad unit dedicated to preserving historical sites. Ssylphiel slithered out of the palace and approached the Guard. \u201cWho\u2019s in charge?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are,\u201d called an Elf man as he and a Dryad arrived. \u201cWe were informed that a rock was taken from the Battlefield of Eternal Tears and, by our oath, we are here to retrieve-!\u201d He didn\u2019t finish his usual spiel as Ssylphiel practically shoved the rock into his hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know the reason behind the theft?\u201d asked Ssylphiel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cY-Yes, we are,\u201d replied the Dryad commander in confusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI only have two requests for you,\u201d said Ssylphiel. \u201cOne, tell Benvar \u2018Blessing refused\u2019. Two, get that rock out of my territory and put it back where it came from! No one wants it here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
