The Autobots plowed through, taking quite a bit of weapons fire! \u201cOptimus, I really must protest!\u201d argued the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMind your heads!\u201d warned Optimus. He opened his doors, tilted his seats so that the Doctor and William tumbled out, and transformed into robot mode, pulling out a giant rifle and firing at the Decepticons, blasting holes in their chests. The downed Decepticons faded to gunmetal gray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, when you said they were at war-!\u201d yelped William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was rather hoping to spare you the ugly reality of war,\u201d replied the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, I just meant I didn\u2019t think their war would be more brutal than any war humans have seen!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Frightening, isn\u2019t it? To learn there are others more versed in death than humans?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTerrifying, frankly!\u201d admitted William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSorry, Miss Rose,\u201d said Bumblebee, \u201cbut I need to start shooting back!\u201d Amy unbuckled and leapt out of Bumblebee as he transformed and fired his gun into the heads of several Decepticons. One of the Decepticons then shot Bumblebee in the shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBUMBLEBEE!\u201d called Amy as Bumblebee leaked a pink fluid and clutched at his wound in pain. She then leapt onto the offending Decepticon and caved his head in with her hammer. Ratchet arrived and transformed, beginning repairs for Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re not gonna be shooting with that arm anytime soon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m ambidextrous, remember?\u201d replied Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re also fuel-efficient,\u201d remarked Ratchet. \u201cI mean, you didn\u2019t lose a lot of your own reserves, but you still have enough Energon to function.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank Primus for being small,\u201d agreed Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll ask about Energon later!\u201d said Amy as she hammered a Decepticon\u2019s chest unit, caving it in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Doc, you don\u2019t intend to make her angry, do you?\u201d Bumblebee asked Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA hammer-wielding fleshling that can cave a bot\u2019s chest in? No thank you. Sounds too unhealthy!\u201d replied Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo don\u2019t make her angry. Important medical advice. Thanks, Ratchet.\u201d Bumblebee resumed shooting with his one good arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inside the bridge, Starscream was babbling in fear to a Decepticon with a huge gun on his arm. This was Megatron, the Supreme Commander of the entire Decepticon Empire. \u201cANDTHEDOCTORBUZZEDTHEFORCEFIELDSANDTHEPINKYTHENWENT\u2018ARGH\u2019ANDIWENT-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSTARSCREAM!\u201d roared Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, Lord Megatron?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Explain what happened again. Slowly.\u201d Megatron sounded annoyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Right.\u201d Starscream took a deep breath. \u201c\u2026The Doctor is on our ship and used a power fluctuation to free the Autobots! She\u2019s regenerated into a woman\u2019s body and now has a pink furball and a human with her!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWHAT?!\u201d shouted Megatron. It was at that moment that the Autobots burst onto the bridge with their organic friends. \u201cPRIME!\u201d shouted Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis ends today, Megatron!\u201d replied Optimus. The two leaders were about to fire\u2026then the lights cut out and all that escaped their guns were pathetic puffs of smoke and electronic warbles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, for-! I RECHARGED THIS THING!\u201d complained Megatron. \u201c\u2026Oh well, I always preferred getting up close and personal with you, Optimus Prime!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou really HAVE forgotten what you fight for, haven\u2019t you?\u201d replied Optimus as he got ready to fight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cENOUGH!\u201d shouted the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWHAT?!\u201d replied the two leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026We\u2019re all affected by these frequent blackouts,\u201d explained the Doctor. \u201cMy own TARDIS was taken out of the Time Vortex thanks to losing power briefly, hence why my friends and I are here. And these blackouts are affecting your weapons too. So, why not-?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDon\u2019t say it!\u201d hissed Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Doctor is correct,\u201d remarked Optimus. \u201cIf we-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou too!\u201d warned Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s the disadvantage in working together?\u201d asked William. Megatron groaned. He HATED the times he had to work with the Autobots\u2026and he especially hated when doing so was the only option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Very well,\u201d he finally decided. \u201cJust keep the insipid speeches behind your face plate, Prime!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By now, everyone was working hard. William and Amy were introduced to Jazz and Ironhide on the Autobot side and Shockwave, Thundercracker, Soundwave, and Octus on the Decepticon side. Octus was the only bot with six arms, yet he was pretty lazy! \u201c\u2026Aren\u2019t you gonna get off your metal butt and help?\u201d asked William at one point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd expend energy that could be put to better use? No thanks,\u201d scoffed Octus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDon\u2019t bother, William,\u201d grunted Thundercracker, the only Decepticon that bothered to learn the names of organic life-forms that weren\u2019t famous. \u201cHe\u2019s a glutton that thinks a passive rule would be better for the Decepticons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHardly passive when it\u2019s the simple order of things for people to serve their betters until death,\u201d replied Octus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd yet, I\u2019M higher than you in the pecking order on this ship,\u201d retorted Thundercracker. Octus then stood up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSpeaking of pecking order,\u201d he said, \u201cI DO recall that Megatron wanted me to look out for a planet to land on, should the power fluctuations make the situation that bad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Soundwave\u2019s the helmsman here! Get your aft back here!\u201d protested Thundercracker. Octus didn\u2019t listen, he just sauntered out of the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026You know, the more blas\u00e9 of our predicament he is,\u201d remarked William, \u201cthe more suspicious I am of him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was supposed to swing a punch at me for daring to remind him that he\u2019s the lowest on the bridge crew totem pole,\u201d said Thundercracker. \u201cYou\u2019re right to be suspicious of him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of the crew, the power fluctuations were becoming more frequent. \u201cAll reliable indicators,\u201d said Shockwave as he, Ratchet, and the Doctor worked in the lab, \u201cdictate that the power fluctuations will affect all capabilities, aside from speech and movement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo, no guns, no fancy attachments, and no transforming,\u201d the Doctor summed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI believe I just said that,\u201d replied Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s gonna affect first aid,\u201d remarked Ratchet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, guys,\u201d called Amy as she entered the lab, \u201cSoundwave found the planet this ship was going to and believes the source of our situation\u2019s from there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026It would stand to reason that the closer we get to the planet, the more total the power loss,\u201d theorized Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have to risk it,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cShutting down whatever\u2019s on the planet that\u2019s causing this is our most expedient solution to permanently restoring power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAgreed,\u201d confirmed Shockwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Optimus and Megatron were told of the science team\u2019s suggestion to land on the planet. \u201cSoundwave,\u201d ordered Megatron, \u201cbegin a spiral descent on the planet. We still have Energon to mine there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs you command, Megatron,\u201d droned Soundwave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ship circled as it went through the planet\u2019s atmosphere. The heat shielding was still working, thank goodness. The planet looked like one huge desert with rocky crags and pits and sparse vegetation. The ship landed in a valley between two mountain ranges. There was some cloud cover in that part of the planet. Once the ship landed, Optimus and Megatron opened the doors. \u201cFan out and scout the area!\u201d Megatron ordered the Decepticons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026More annoyingly familiar surroundings,\u201d muttered the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Doctor, where\u2019s William?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd Thundercracker and Octus,\u201d remarked Optimus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOctus must have finally convinced Thundercracker to take a load off!\u201d grunted Megatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Megatron\u2019s guess could not be further from the truth. Thundercracker and William were currently sneaking up to a door. \u201cYou\u2019re sure you heard someone transforming in there?\u201d asked Thundercracker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPositive,\u201d replied William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo they assumed alt-mode as we were getting closer,\u201d guessed Thundercracker. He peered at the nameplate above the door. \u201c\u2026Hang on, that\u2019s Octus\u2019 quarters,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd so things get more suspicious surrounding him,\u201d muttered William. Thundercracker knocked on the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey! Lazy!\u201d he called. \u201cWe\u2019re all outside!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSorry,\u201d called Octus\u2019 voice. \u201cHad to go native before we suffered total power failure.\u201d The door slowly opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey! Prime! Over here!\u201d called Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat is it?\u201d asked Optimus as he, Megatron, the Doctor, and Amy joined with Bumblebee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOver there! I see the spire of a city!\u201d explained Bumblebee. The city itself was obscured by rocks nearby, but the spire could be seen clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Octus glided out in his new alt-mode. William blinked at the sight. He looked like some sort of tank with a globe-studded travel skirt, a dome with a camera eye on a stalk, a pair of dome lights, a neck section with rings, a toilet plunger making a manipulator arm on the right, and an elongated egg whisk with a hollow barrel on the left. \u201cLike I said, had to go native,\u201d explained Octus. Every time he spoke, the dome lights flashed on each syllable. Thundercracker stepped back as he realized what Octus had done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026No!\u201d whispered the blue jet Decepticon. \u201cNo, you didn\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group rounded the bend and saw the city that the spire was part of. The instant she clapped eyes on it, the Doctor recognized the architecture immediately, her hearts stopping in terror. \u201c\u2026They rebuilt it!\u201d she said. \u201cThey brought it back! \u2026No! Megatron-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, I swear on my Spark,\u201d replied Megatron, \u201cI\u2026didn\u2019t\u2026know!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWh-why\u2019s everyone scared?\u201d asked Amy. \u201cWhat planet is this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSKARO!\u201d shouted Thundercracker in absolute terror as he pointed an accusing finger at Octus. \u201cYOU TRICKED US INTO LANDING ON SKARO!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is better to serve the Destroyer than stand in its way,\u201d replied Octus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy is this Skaro so scary for you guys?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause this is a dangerous world! For all life!\u201d explained the Doctor. \u201c\u2026This is the homeworld of the Daleks!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLife forms detected!\u201d barked a harsh, grating, metallic voice. \u201cThe survivors will be put to work as slave labor! All extraneous Cybertronians will be exterminated!\u201d Mechanical beings shaped like Octus\u2019 alt-mode, but only standing at 1.7 meters tall, glided into the valley!
