On the bridge, the Doctor and Rassilon were still working out the anomalies. \u201cI haven\u2019t seen this much in quite a while,\u201d remarked Rassilon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe amount of potential time energy could rip Popstar in half,\u201d muttered the Doctor. Just then, a call came to the bridge through the comms unit. Meta Knight took the call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReport,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMeta Knight, it\u2019s Amy! We\u2019re being chased by a statue!\u201d The Doctor\u2019s eyes went wide. She pushed Meta Knight out of the way and took over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAmy, that statue, is it an angel?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes! It moves whenever-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTake William and get out of there! Don\u2019t take your eyes off it!\u201d urged the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, it\u2019s William!\u201d came William\u2019s voice. \u201cThat\u2019s gonna be a bit hard! The lights are flickering down here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJust do it! Hurry! If that thing touches you, I can\u2019t get you back, even with the TARDIS!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Down in the cargo hold, Amy and William made their way to the door with the angel statue appearing in a different spot every time the lights kicked back in. It was like an animal toying with its prey! William found the door controls and pressed a button. The door opened. He and Amy quickly left the cargo hold and shut the door just as the angel appeared in the spot they inhabited. William then picked up Amy and carried her over his shoulder. \u201cHEY!\u201d protested Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKeep an eye on the door!\u201d replied William. \u201cWe don\u2019t know how strong it is!\u201d He then took off with Amy looking behind at the door. She saw distinctive bulges like fists caving in the metal of the door on the other side! The lights then flickered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMust go faster! Must go faster!! MUST GO FASTER!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know! I KNOW!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Doctor stood at the bridge door, looking out for her friends. The lights started flickering. \u201cCome on! Where are you?!\u201d she begged her friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHOLD THAT DOOR!\u201d called William\u2019s voice. The Doctor saw William carrying Amy and reached her hand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHURRY!\u201d she said. She successfully grabbed William\u2019s hand and pulled him and Amy onto the bridge just as the angel statue was halfway down the hall. She then shut the door on the angel. \u201cThat won\u2019t hold for long, but it WILL give us enough time to sound the alarm!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, what-?!\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLater, I\u2019ll explain later! Right now, we need to evacuate this ship!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s one statue,\u201d remarked Meta Knight. \u201cWhat can it do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMeta Knight, the Weeping Angels are fast and can kill you before you got your hand on your sword!\u201d replied Rassilon. \u201cNow give the order to abandon ship!\u201d Meta Knight wasn\u2019t sure\u2026until the door started buckling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat thing\u2019s breaking through!\u201d yelped William. Meta Knight hit the ship-wide address button on the intercom system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll hands, this is Meta Knight. Abandon ship. Repeat, abandon ship. The Halberd<\/em> has been compromised. This is not a drill. Abandon ship.\u201d He saw on the security cameras that the Waddle-Dee crew were evacuating the ship. He then set the self-destruct. \u201cKirby! Your Warp Star!\u201d called Meta Knight. Kirby nodded, put his right arm out, and a giant, yellow, five-pointed star arrived, scooping everyone up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHang on tight!\u201d called Amy. The Warp Star then took its passengers out of the ship, just as it exploded! The star then brought everyone to the gates of a castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPoyo! Dedede!\u201d said Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, his Majesty must be informed!\u201d agreed Meta Knight. \u201cThere might be more of those statues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere most certainly will be more, but we have some breathing room,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoctor, what WAS that thing?!\u201d shuddered William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat kind of being has many names,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cThe Lonely Assassin, the Kind Murderous Psychopath, but all races know them as the Weeping Angels. They\u2019re quantum-locked creatures that feed on the potential time energy of their victims.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Weeping Angels,\u201d supplied Rassilon, \u201care statues when observed, even by members of their own kind. That\u2019s why they cover their faces. When unobserved, they\u2019re the fastest creatures in the universe. The way they get the potential time energy they need is by touching their victim and sending it far into the past so they can live out the rest of their lives in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026The Waddle-Dee,\u201d realized William. \u201cThe Angel on the ship sent him to the past!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDo they have anything to do with counting down?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOof, yeah, that\u2019s when an Angel is really sadistic,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cThe Angels have their own psychic powers. They can implant themselves into a victim\u2019s mind when observed. One of their examples of mental control is by having the victim count down the minutes until their death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMeaning that Angel fed well,\u201d remarked Rassilon. \u201cWe\u2019re not dealing with desperate Weeping Angels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDon\u2019t know if that improves our situation,\u201d muttered the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The group arrived at the throne room. Sitting on the throne was what looked like a humanoid blue penguin in red robes and a skull-cap crown with a pom-pom on it. He looked haggard, as Meta Knight said. \u201cYour Majesty!\u201d called Meta Knight. The Penguin looked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOh, hello, Meta Knight,\u201d he said. \u201cKirby. \u2026Amy Rose?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s me, King Dedede,\u201d replied Amy. \u201cIf I might say something, you look terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019ve\u2026got a lot on my mind, Miss Rose,\u201d answered Dedede. \u201cWhat brings you here? And who are your new friends?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYour Majesty, I\u2019m the Doctor,\u201d introduced the Doctor. \u201cAnd these are William and Rassilon. We come here on a quest to find something called the Key to Time, but your planet is besieged by creatures that can send a person to the past, condemning them to die in a different time zone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Weeping Angels?\u201d asked Dedede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen you know of the threat we face?\u201d asked Meta Knight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou could say that, Meta Knight,\u201d replied Dedede. He briefly turned the lights off, then switched them back on again to reveal that the throne room was filled with Weeping Angels!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou didn\u2019t!\u201d hissed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis ain\u2019t what you think it is, Miss Doctor,\u201d said Dedede. \u201cThey already took a few of my Waddle-Dees before my eyes and now they\u2019re using one of their voices!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe\u2019s right, you know,\u201d said a Waddle-Dee\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHey, wait! That\u2019s the Waddle-Dee that was in the cargo hold!\u201d yelped Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNo, that\u2019s the Angels using their victim\u2019s voice,\u201d replied Rassilon. \u201cSadists, the lot of you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s rich, coming from you, Lord President Eternal,\u201d mocked the Angels\u2019 voice. \u201cWe know you\u2019re after the Key to Time. You will surrender the means of tracking it to us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd if we don\u2019t?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe always wanted to try the potential time energy of a Time Lord. Dedede, we\u2019ll give them some time to decide. We trust you have accommodations for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026Guards, take them all to the dungeon,\u201d Dedede ordered his men, a face of regret on his beak. Waddle-Dees with spears then came in and escorted them out of the throne room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYour Majesty, I CAN help you!\u201d called the Doctor. \u201cPlease, just trust me!\u201d Dedede just sighed as they were taken away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The TARDIS crew, Kirby, and Meta Knight were all in the same cell as a Waddle-Dee wearing a blue bandana. The poor little guy looked miserable. \u201cThey got you too, Kirby?\u201d he mumbled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBandee\u2026\u201d replied Kirby as he patted the poor Waddle-Dee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re doomed now!\u201d wailed the Waddle-Dee, Bandee. \u201cThey\u2019re forcing the King to be a jerk again and now they kidnapped Kirby!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCome on,\u201d replied the Doctor, \u201cwhere there\u2019s life, there\u2019s hope. And\u2026Rassilon\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat is it, Doctor?\u201d asked Rassilon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHow long has your hand been glowing?\u201d Rassilon goggled and realized her hand was glowing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNo! Not yet! Please!\u201d she begged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat\u2019s going on with Rassilon?!\u201d asked William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s the regeneration process!\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cHer body had suffered fatal damage somewhere, so it\u2019s rewriting itself! Rassilon, how long have you been holding it back?!\u201d Rassilon sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSince you expelled Ginyu from my mind,\u201d she finally answered. \u201cIt caused enough damage to the brain that it triggered the process. Amy stumbled across it when I blundered into her room after that business with the Kamen Riders and Autons and I made her swear not to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhy are you holding it back?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBecause the Black Guardian set a limit to how many bodies I can have. Six bodies for six segments and I used five bodies in getting my bowship time-travel capable! The next body is the absolute limit. Once I waste it, I fade!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026Holding back a total regeneration for days,\u201d muttered the Doctor. \u201cI couldn\u2019t even do that. A few hours at most, and then I make the goofy and damaging mistake of practically exploding into a new body inside the TARDIS. She hates that, let me tell you.\u201d That was when the Doctor got an idea. \u201c\u2026Rassilon\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoctor?\u201d asked Rassilon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCan you channel your regeneration energy into the wall?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoctor!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019ll keep your next body from getting hurt fatally,\u201d promised the Doctor. \u201cRight now, though, we need to escape.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026I\u2019m going to hold you to that. Everyone, stand back!\u201d The Doctor herded everyone to a corner in the cell as Rassilon allowed herself to glow completely. \u201c\u2026All right, Rassilon. It\u2019s up to you,\u201d said the former Lord President Eternal. She then threw her hands towards the cell door, bending her head in the same direction, and golden light and energy erupted from her body! The energy destroyed the door and blew a hole in the wall.
