\u201cKIRBY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!\u201d protested the Doctor as Kirby inhaled the excess regeneration energy. \u201cTHAT\u2019S NOT SAFE FOR YOU!\u201d Rassilon\u2019s glowing then died off and Kirby stopped inhaling. He then flipped in the air and a skull cap appeared on his head with a collar that wrapped around where his shoulders would be and a semi-circle grew above his head at the back. A curve then sunk in at the top of the semi-circle. The strange collar and skull cap turned scarlet while scarlet fabric covered Kirby\u2019s body. \u201c\u2026He\u2026He turned the regeneration energy\u2026into a combat form!\u201d breathed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe has become Time Lord Kirby!\u201d announced Meta Knight. Everyone looked at the adult Star Warrior. \u201c\u2026Don\u2019t ask,\u201d he mumbled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd he\u2019s wearing Prydonian robes!\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cThat\u2019s my chapter!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOoooggghhh!\u201d moaned a new voice. There was a new woman in Rassilon\u2019s dress and she was collapsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRassilon!\u201d yelped the Doctor. She caught the newly regenerated Rassilon in time. The hat tumbled away to reveal curly brown hair that went to her shoulders and lightly-tanned skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat regeneration must have drained a lot of her energy upon release,\u201d remarked a voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHoly crap! Move aside!\u201d called William. He brought out his stethoscope and listened to Rassilon\u2019s hearts-beat. \u201c\u2026Okay, it\u2019s stabilizing, but we gotta get her out of here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight,\u201d agreed the Doctor. She got Rassilon to wrap her arms around hers and William\u2019s shoulders. \u201cKirby, Amy, think you two can scout ahead? Make sure there aren\u2019t any Weeping Angels?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSure thing!\u201d said the two pink people. \u2026Amy goggled when she heard another voice agree with her. She slowly turned to Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Was\u2026that you?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I think it was!\u201d replied Kirby. \u201cAmazing! This new form not only gave me the intelligence and abilities of the Time Lords, but the speech of them! I can say things besides \u2018Poyo\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cErm, Kirby, laudable,\u201d said the Doctor, \u201cbut could you please hurry?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, the new Rassilon\u2019s not getting any lighter,\u201d said William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight, sorry!\u201d replied Amy. She and Kirby looked outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOof! That\u2019s bright!\u201d said Kirby as he blinked hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re telling me!\u201d agreed Amy. Once their vision cleared, they looked around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I\u2019m not seeing any Angels,\u201d said Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNor am I,\u201d said Amy. She called to everyone. \u201cWe\u2019re good!\u201d Everyone rushed out into the sunlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStill a sunny day,\u201d remarked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, days are a bit longer on Popstar,\u201d replied Kirby. \u201cNow, we need to get to your TARDIS. I think I have an idea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCan you tell me telepathically?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSure. It\u2019s a bit involved anyways,\u201d said Kirby. \u201cContact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cContact.\u201d Kirby and the Doctor shut their eyes and concentrated. After a few seconds and some walking, the Doctor grinned. \u201cThere\u2019s an idea!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThink it will work?\u201d asked Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll need the fourth segment to be sure,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat are you planning?\u201d asked Meta Knight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to make the Weeping Angels gorge themselves on potential time energy,\u201d explained Kirby. \u201cBut we need the segments of the Key to Time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThree\u2019s probably enough to make it work,\u201d said the Doctor, \u201cbut four would really make it a certainty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHang on,\u201d said Amy as she checked Rassilon\u2019s dress. \u201cThe tracer should be around here! Aha! Here it is!\u201d Amy pulled the tracer out of Rassilon\u2019s sleeve and pointed it in different directions. It crackled louder when it was pointing at what looked like a tomato plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026The Maxim Tomato patch?\u201d asked Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaxim Tomato?\u201d asked William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhenever someone eats one raw,\u201d explained Kirby, \u201cit restores them to full strength.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRaw?! Ugh!\u201d shuddered William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDon\u2019t knock it!\u201d said Bandee. \u201cIt works!\u201d The group approached the Maxim Tomato plant. Upon closer inspection, William could see that there were big, black M\u2019s on the tomatoes themselves. Amy waved the tracer near the Maxim Tomatoes until it crackled at its fastest frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat one!\u201d said Amy as she touched the tracer to it. The Maxim Tomato then turned into its natural form as a segment of the Key to Time and fell to the ground. By then, Rassilon groaned. Her eyes fluttered open and revealed themselves to be blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy head!\u201d she groaned. She then breathed deeply. \u201c\u2026Okay, recap. I landed on Popstar with the Doctor. We were cornered by Weeping Angels. We were thrown into prison by King Dedede acting on the Angels\u2019 orders. I then used my regeneration to blow a hole in the wall.\u201d She then looked around. \u201c\u2026And it worked.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRassilon?\u201d asked William. \u201cHow are you feeling?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Sore all over, Dr. Davies,\u201d replied Rassilon. \u201cBut I should be able to walk. \u2026Where did Kirby-?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour excess regeneration energy,\u201d explained Kirby, \u201cgave me this new Copy Ability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026So you\u2019re a Time Lord?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, in the loosest sense of the title, yes. I can\u2019t regenerate, only come back to life twelve times.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwelve?\u201d asked Amy. \u201cThat makes thirteen lives in total.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, the Doctor and I,\u201d explained Rassilon, \u201care special cases. We can regenerate ad infinitum, but when I gave that ability to the others, I made it so the average Time Lord is limited to thirteen lives. Didn\u2019t want Gallifrey to be overcrowded.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey!\u201d called Dedede\u2019s voice. The King then ran up to them. Meta Knight and Bandee drew their weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHang on!\u201d called Kirby. \u201c\u2026King Dedede?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Kirby?!\u201d yelped Dedede. \u201cWhen did you start talking?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a Copy Ability thing. What are you doing here?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI saw you guys escaping and realized I was tired of listening to statues,\u201d explained Dedede. \u201cThose things killed my Waddle-Dees! I won\u2019t stand for it! Doctor, you said you can get rid of them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd thanks to Kirby\u2019s new Copy Ability, I can make good on that promise,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cBut we\u2019re going to need a show of good faith from you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, Dedede\u2019s just misguided at times,\u201d said Amy. \u201cThe only time he was evil was when he was mind-controlled.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Well, there WAS my first encounter with him,\u201d said Kirby, \u201cbut that\u2019s neither here nor there. The point is, Doctor, we could use his help. He\u2019s more of a hero than you realize.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKirby speaks the truth,\u201d said Meta Knight. \u201cHe\u2019ll pull through when push comes to shove.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe kept the Beast Pack from the Forgotten Land off our backs so we could escape and defeat an eldritch horror,\u201d said Bandee. \u201cHe\u2019s a hero where it counts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd if saving the life of even one of my loyal subjects means my sacrifice,\u201d promised Dedede, \u201cthen I choose to die a King!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I appreciate the sentiment,\u201d said the Doctor, \u201cbut no one else is dying to feed the Angels today. Kirby, your Warp Star! We have to get to the TARDIS!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight!\u201d replied Kirby. He summoned the Warp Star and it took everyone back to Kirby\u2019s house. Dedede blinked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat is your TARDIS, Doctor?\u201d asked Meta Knight. \u201cI thought it would blend in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBroken Chameleon Circuit,\u201d explained the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLooks kinda small,\u201d remarked Dedede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf I got my new intelligence right,\u201d said Kirby, \u201cit\u2019s not as snug as it looks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To say Dedede was gobsmacked about the inside of the TARDIS would be an understatement. Bandee was just as surprised. Meta Knight, having heard about a TARDIS before, wasn\u2019t AS surprised, but was honored to be allowed inside one. \u201cH\u2026HOW?!\u201d spluttered Dedede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDimensional transcendentalism,\u201d replied Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2026It\u2019s\u2026bigger on the inside!\u201d whispered Bandee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLike I said, dimensional transcendentalism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKirby, we have a lot of work to do,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cCould you run your plan by Rassilon?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSure thing. Rassilon? You good for pooling our experiences?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou can do that?\u201d asked Rassilon. \u201cI think your new Copy Ability is a bit overpowered.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, I\u2019ll be giving it up when all this is over,\u201d promised Kirby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight, well,\u201d sighed Rassilon, \u201cwe better get started. Contact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cContact.\u201d The Star Warrior and the Time Lord spoke telepathically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Amy, you think the Doctor and Miss Tarae did that concerning the roboticized TARDIS?\u201d William asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProbably. They were in there for a short time,\u201d said Amy. \u201cToo short for a verbal workshopping of the plan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cKirby, that\u2019s a great idea!\u201d said Rassilon once she and Kirby were finished. \u201cBut we have to work fast. Doctor, where\u2019s the parts storage?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWilliam, take Rassilon to the parts storage,\u201d directed the Doctor. \u201cWe have until the evening, considering the Angels like darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat can we do in the meantime?\u201d asked Meta Knight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou all can act as watchmen,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cDon\u2019t engage the Angels, you hear? You come back inside the instant you see a wing!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGot it!\u201d replied Dedede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The work was taking a good chunk of the day. Night was starting to fall. King Dedede and Amy were outside with Bandee and Meta Knight standing at the door. By now, it was getting dark enough to risk flashlights. \u201c\u2026Why the heck does the Doctor call these things torches?\u201d asked Dedede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s a British thing,\u201d replied Amy. She then saw his confused face. \u201c\u2026From Great Britain, on Earth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow big IS Earth?\u201d muttered Dedede. \u2026His light then flickered. \u201cErm, Amy!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
