The heroes rushed to the main courtyard as Ganondorf and his forces engaged the Hylian soldiers and the delegates. Ganondorf was showing no mercy. \u201cThis is the best you can do, Zelda?!\u201d he laughed. \u201cI suppose, when you have Link, you\u2019re lax in training your men!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSays the guy that uses weak uglies!\u201d called Link as he pulled out what looked like a tablet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026This isn\u2019t the time for Candy Crush!\u201d protested the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m thinking\u2026Magnet Pile,\u201d replied Link. A holographic magnet then appeared and projected magnetic waves onto the broken metal door the enemy forces were standing on. He then raised the tablet and the door carried the Bokoblins up into the air. Link then maneuvered the door over Ganondorf, then twisted it so that the Bokoblins fell onto Ganondorf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cARGH! GET OFF ME!\u201d roared the dark sorcerer as he used his power to create a shockwave that flung the Bokoblins off him. He then flew at Link in a rage! Link leapt out of the way, drawing his sword and shield and (at least for him) slowed down time long enough to score multiple sword strikes on Ganondorf. The ability then died down and Ganondorf blocked the next sword swing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAre we really doing this song and dance again?\u201d taunted Link. \u201cYou know, for all your supposed mastery of the Triforce of Power, you never really win!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMock me all you want, boy!\u201d snarled Ganondorf. \u201cThroughout every timeline, I always return! You cannot defeat me that easily!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery timeline?\u201d muttered the Doctor. Amy then came to her rescue by slamming her hammer into a Moblin\u2019s skull! Rassilon then punched a Bokoblin\u2019s throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, this is not the time to be distracted!\u201d snapped Rassilon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got it! We\u2019ve got it!\u201d called another Bokoblin. The \u2018It\u2019 he was referring to was the TARDIS as he commanded a red-maned Lynel to haul the TARDIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOI! THAT\u2019S MINE!\u201d called the Doctor as she leapt onto the Lynel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHELP!\u201d called Zelda as a silver-maned Lynel carried her away. As Link was about to pursue, a blue-maned Lynel carrying Miss Tarae and Amy knocked him out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Link groaned as he woke up. He saw a stone ceiling. \u201c\u2026Not the Shrine of Resurrection, then,\u201d he mumbled. \u201c\u2026Memories are still there. Good. Now-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLay back down there!\u201d snapped William as he gently pushed Link onto the bed. \u201cYou\u2019re lucky you Hylians are similar to humans. That Lynel hit you good!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut Zelda!\u201d protested Link. \u201cAnd your friends-!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSidon is gathering the remaining Sages\u2026whatever they are. They\u2019re gathering armies for an assault on Ganondorf\u2019s castle. We\u2019ll get everyone back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLink, perhaps you can explain something to me,\u201d said Rassilon as she stepped into the room. \u201cYour arm, for a start.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was about to ask, that\u2019s not a normal Hylian arm, is it?\u201d asked William as he pointed at Link\u2019s right arm. It seemed to be covered in dark gray fur and had bronze arm attachments on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026It\u2019s King Rauru\u2019s arm,\u201d explained Link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRauru? The Zonai Leader?\u201d asked Rassilon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd Zelda\u2019s first ancestor,\u201d replied Link. \u201cIn this timeline, he was the one that sealed Ganondorf away, but Ganondorf released an avatar called Calamity Ganon. I beat that avatar and Ganondorf when he was fully resurrected, but his defeat opened my mind to the previous iterations of Hyrule.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo that\u2019s why there\u2019s so much temporal disturbance here,\u201d remarked Rassilon. \u201cThis world sits upon a rift that opens into the Time Vortex.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo far, there were five main timelines,\u201d explained Link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026You\u2019re in the sixth one, aren\u2019t you?\u201d asked Rassilon. \u201cThat\u2019s why the TARDIS was directed here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHm?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026We\u2019re looking for a segment of a powerful artefact called the Key to Time,\u201d explained Rassilon. Link\u2019s eyes went wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I think I know exactly who you\u2019re looking for,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Who?\u201d asked William, confused by Link\u2019s word choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Ganondorf\u2019s castle, the Doctor groaned as she rubbed her head. \u201cOof. Felt like I wrestled a Sontaran.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor!\u201d called Amy\u2019s voice. She ran up to the bed the Doctor was lying on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAmy! You\u2019re all right!\u201d said the Doctor as she sat up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, but Zelda\u2019s been taken!\u201d replied Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTaken? To where?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s not your concern, Time Lord,\u201d cackled Ganondorf\u2019s voice. Amy rolled her eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI should have known you\u2019d still go after Zelda!\u201d she hissed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStill?\u201d asked the Doctor. \u201cGanondorf, are you still obsessed with Zelda\u2019s power? That\u2019s so old! Clich\u00e9d, even!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is not a play, Doctor,\u201d purred Ganondorf, \u201cbut you could say it\u2019s the final curtain for you!\u201d The Doctor then collapsed, clutching her sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDOCTOR!\u201d yelped Amy. She ran over and turned the Doctor over\u2026then the Doctor\u2019s laughter echoed throughout the dungeon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCURTAIN! AHAHAHAHAHA!\u201d she cackled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSTOP LAUGHING!\u201d shouted a very slighted Ganondorf. \u201cDon\u2019t you realize your life and Amy\u2019s are in my hands?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHANDS! AHAHAHAHA!\u201d the Doctor continued laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cErm, Doctor, Ganondorf\u2019s not someone to take lightly!\u201d warned Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut of all the villains\u2026I had to face\u2026\u201d wheezed the Doctor, \u201cit had to be someone that uses such tired lines!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, it was either him or Miss Tarae over there,\u201d remarked Amy as she pointed at a very free Miss Tarae. The Doctor stopped laughing long enough to piece together what was going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReally?\u201d she asked the wicked Time Lord. \u201cYou didn\u2019t learn from Eggman?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, I didn\u2019t open with trying to hypnotize Ganondorf,\u201d replied Miss Tarae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, sure, THAT\u2019S the important lesson,\u201d scoffed Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDon\u2019t be critical, Miss Rose,\u201d chuckled Miss Tarae. \u201cI have to say, it\u2019s a good thing you\u2019re already wearing black. You won\u2019t need to change into funeral clothes when our plan unfolds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat plan?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTemporal coherence,\u201d said Ganondorf. \u201cOur world sits near a temporal rift that resets the timeline frequently with multiple incarnations of myself, Zelda, and Link in each one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow is Hyrule still here?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat do you know of Hylia?\u201d quizzed Miss Tarae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Isn\u2019t she one of the Toymaker\u2019s kids that rebelled against him?\u201d recalled the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIndeed. She didn\u2019t like her father\u2019s games, so she worked with the Golden Goddesses and was entrusted with an artefact called the Triforce. The Triforce then split into three fragments of wisdom, power, and courage. Link and Zelda each got the respective Triforces of Courage and Wisdom while Ganondorf here obtained the Triforce of Power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut Hylia interfered in a deeper way,\u201d said Ganondorf. \u201cShe reincarnated as the first Zelda with no memories of her time as a goddess and with severely limited power. She manages to keep watch as every iteration of Zelda, still unable to recall her first life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cChoosing to be a mortal,\u201d remarked the Doctor. \u201cThere\u2019s a gift I wish I had.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGift, my left-hand heart!\u201d scoffed Miss Tarae. \u201cIn any event, as this is the sixth timeline of her devising, that left a bit of a clue. After my escape from Eggman\u2019s lair, I crashed at the base of Death Mountain, northeast of Hyrule Castle, and found a bowship! Being interested in why an old Gallifreyan vessel would be here, I took a look and discovered it was Rassilon\u2019s bowship! The same one she used when you exiled her\u2026rather, HIM. I found records of when she stumbled across the Black Guardian and tasked her with finding the segments of the Key to Time and followed the journey right up until she intercepted your TARDIS in the Time Vortex. I then used my own TARDIS to follow your journey and requested Ganondorf\u2019s help in researching what the last segment could be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOr rather\u2026who, as our research indicated,\u201d chuckled Ganondorf darkly. \u201cAnd we found the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou did? \u2026Who?\u201d asked the Doctor, worried now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe current mortal incarnation of Hylia in this timeline, the SIXTH timeline!\u201d cackled Miss Tarae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Zelda?!\u201d whispered Amy fearfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOnce we learned what Zelda\u2019s true form is,\u201d continued Miss Tarae, \u201cGanondorf built up his forces to assault Hyrule Castle while I sent a message to various people to slow you down along your stops. \u2026But you just HAD to defeat them, didn\u2019t you, Doctor? Well, defeat those that actually received my message. Maleficent couldn\u2019t work technology without the MCP and Beerus was trapped by Frieza, the Autons were stuck in a time paradox of Tsukasa\u2019s design, the Weeping Angels only saw me as a food source, the only TRULY reliable allies were the Cybermen once I contacted their local CyberMaster.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026You put those obstacles in place!\u201d realized the Doctor. \u201cYOU are the reason why so many people knew about the Key to Time!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey played their parts well enough to slow you down long enough for Ganondorf and I to prepare for your arrival, so I faked being chased by Ganondorf.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd took advantage of Zelda\u2019s compassion!\u201d hissed Amy. \u201cAll so you can get her to become the last segment and take ours!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExactly. Now\u2026the tracer, Doctor.\u201d The Doctor then grinned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat tracer?\u201d she asked. \u201cDo you see any tracer on me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Doctor, I\u2019m no longer in the mood for flippancy,\u201d hissed Miss Tarae. \u201cWhere\u2019s the tracer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Contact,\u201d chuckled the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Very well. Contact,\u201d replied Miss Tarae. They then had a telepathic conference, then Miss Tarae ended it by sticking her hand through the cell\u2019s bars in an attempt to throttle the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d asked Ganondorf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRassilon has the tracer and she\u2019s still at Hyrule Castle!\u201d snapped Miss Tarae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
