\u201cI want to see good, clean shots to the head and the heart!\u201d Skrem said to his men. \u201cThink you can manage that, Trooper?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEasily, Sir,\u201d replied the Sontaran Trooper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBetter make that \u2018hearts\u2019 plural,\u201d interjected the Doctor. \u201cI\u2019m a Time Lord and we have two hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026She has a point, Sir,\u201d a Sontaran said to Skrem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIndeed. So, how do you want to do this?\u201d asked the Doctor. \u201cOne shot in each heart for me? Four in the head?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne shot in one of the hearts and a shot in the head during the regeneration process will suffice, Doctor!\u201d snapped Skrem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh, read up on when you lot invaded Gallifrey, huh?\u201d muttered the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJust a second, General!\u201d called Rook. \u201cThis is against the Galactic Code of Conduct! Who among you has claimed us as your execution targets? Benjamin Tennyson is the object of Vilgax\u2019s vengeance!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOf course!\u201d recalled the Doctor. \u201cArticle 7, Section 4, Subsection 6, Paragraph 3!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Paragraph four, actually,\u201d corrected Rook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe young Plumber and the Doctor are correct,\u201d said Vilgax. \u201cYou would kill the Doctor, I would kill Tennyson. That was the agreement in accordance with Article 2, Section 3, Subsection 4, Paragraph 2.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh, but Paragraph 5 dictates that, in the event of evasion of capture, all targets are viable,\u201d replied Skrem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDo you see them evading capture?!\u201d snarled Vilgax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, who cares about the rules!\u201d complained Psychobos. \u201cJust do the smart thing for once and k-k-k-kill them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd wound Sontaran honor? Never,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cRook, it\u2019s been a while since I read the Galactic Code of Conduct. Which part of it concerns surrendered prisoners?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cArticle 2, Section 1, Subsection 1, Paragraph 1!\u201d answered Rook. \u201cVilgax, Skrem, Psychobos, we all surrender in accordance with all that I have outlined!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou little-!\u201d snapped Skrem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoc, Rook, what are you two doing?!\u201d protested Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, you better have some sort of plan!\u201d hissed Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, but I have breathing space to make one,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cSontarans have two basic weaknesses. One is the probic vent on the backs of their necks, the other is their love of military protocol. Rook selected rules concerning surrendered prisoners and those rules are a little more involved than the ones involving fugitive combatants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAh, the ol\u2019 tie-them-up-in-red-tape trick!\u201d realized Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019ll kill us once they figured out that particular knot,\u201d said the Doctor, \u201cso let\u2019s keep adding more. Rook, do you have any electronic form of the Galactic Code of Conduct?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, right in my-!\u201d Rook\u2019s smile faded as he remembered. \u201c\u2026Oh\u2026 Bralla Da! It\u2019s in my quarters in Plumber HQ!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right, new plan,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cFollow my lead.\u201d She cautiously led everyone out of the brig as Skrem and Vilgax loudly discussed the finer points of the Galactic Code of Conduct while Psychobos tried to shut them up about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Doctor and her friends approached the bridge\u2019s doors. A few guards were at the doors. \u201cBlast. Knew it was too easy,\u201d grumbled the Doctor. The robots spotted them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIntruders!\u201d shouted one. \u201cPut your two hands behind your backs!\u201d Ben grinned, then selected an alien. He slid the Omnitrix\u2019s cover back and pressed the core down. Green light surrounded him and he grew while gaining another set of arms. The light faded and in his place was a four-armed alien with four eyes and red skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFOUR-ARMS!\u201d he shouted. He put his right arms behind his back and used his left arms to punch the robots hard enough to scrap them. The Doctor blinked at the brutality. \u201c\u2026What?\u201d asked Four-Arms. \u201cI put two hands behind my back like he said!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat name\u2019s on the nose,\u201d remarked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, it\u2019s Four-Arms,\u201d corrected Four-Arms. \u201cI don\u2019t have an alien called On the Nose, not yet at least. If I did, I\u2019d shout ON THE NOSE!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy DID you shout that name anyways?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTo strike fear into those rust buckets!\u201d replied Four-Arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBelieve me,\u201d sighed Gwen, \u201cit was bliss when you stopped doing that, Doofus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, whatever, Dweeb!\u201d scoffed Four-Arms as he used all four of his hands to tear the door off\u2026and he immediately got shot at from the robots already on the bridge. \u201cOW! HEY! THAT\u2019S DIRTY FIGHTING!\u201d protested Four-Arms as he tore through the robots. Once the bridge was cleared, the Doctor got to work. \u201cDoc, whatever you have planned, probably wanna be quick about it,\u201d warned Four-Arms. \u201cVilgax and his goons are sure to come here soon!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI need to find the ship\u2019s archived monitor data,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe what?\u201d asked Kevin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBlack box, flight recorder,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cProfessor Paradox said Skrem\u2019s after the Hand of Eon to undo a victory I gained over his clone ancestor, Staal, the original General of the 10th<\/sup> Sontaran Fleet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhen was that?\u201d asked Max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c2009. They were responsible for the ATMOS crisis. While the devices DID reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the cars they were installed in, the Sontarans\u2019 purpose for them was to use them to introduce clone feed into Earth\u2019s atmosphere, turning it into a cloning world, where they would make new Sontarans to fight against the Rutans. I managed to stop him by igniting the clone feed introduced into the atmosphere. \u2026So why would a Clone Descendant use time travel to undo that? Sontarans have strict codes of honor against that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI think the question is why is he so desperate?\u201d asked Kevin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026You\u2019re quite right,\u201d remarked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUm, guys!\u201d warned Amy as she pointed out the screens displaying the footage outside the bridge. The comms activated. \u201cI will speak to General Skrem in accordance with Jurisdiction 2 of the Intergalactic Rules of Engagement!\u201d The camera footage showed Skrem step towards the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnder Convention 5,\u201d he said, \u201cthat will be the last bit of protocol you and your friends will ever spit at me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s agreeable,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cI never liked red tape in the long run. So, tell me, General Skrem\u2026since when did the 10th<\/sup> Sontaran Fleet become a pack of cowards?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHOW\u2026DARE YOU!!!\u201d roared Skrem. \u201cDoctor, you impugn my honor!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m glad you chose the words Staal used. Because if you said \u2018belittle\u2019, I\u2019d have a field day. But time travel to undo a defeat? Sontaran High Command branded that to be the action of a desperate coward and you know there\u2019s a good reason for that. Skrem, you\u2019ve got an entire fleet at your command, with all the bells and whistles, yet you want to use time travel to undo a defeat and kill Earth in the past! Where\u2019s the fight in that?! Where\u2019s the honor?! \u2026Or, is there a reason behind such desperation? This isn\u2019t the usual Sontaran warfare. How would this contribute to Sontar\u2019s war effort?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIf only we were permitted to contribute to the war effort, then we wouldn\u2019t be so desperate!\u201d The instant Skrem finished that sentence, the Doctor laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo,\u201d she said, \u201cthe sins of the father are visited upon the son, eh?! Exiled from not only Sontar, but the entire war! That\u2019s how much of a setback the terraforming project of \u201909 was!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat war?\u201d asked Ben. \u201cI didn\u2019t get that when I was Trohll.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe war between the Sontarans and the Rutans,\u201d explained Amy, remembering what the Doctor said. \u201cWho knows who started it and who really cares? All we want to know is how it ends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt will end with Sontaran victory once I undo Staal\u2019s defeat!\u201d insisted Skrem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd the Hand of Eon will give you that mastery over time?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNaturally. \u2026Failing that, though\u2026a Chronosapian\u2019s temporal mastery will serve!\u201d Skrem\u2019s ominous statement made Ben back up a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c\u2026Ben, why are you so scared?\u201d asked the Doctor, worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cJust a minute, Skrem!\u201d snarled Vilgax. \u201cWe had a deal! You don\u2019t need the Omnitrix\u2019s power!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNot its full power, no,\u201d replied Skrem, \u201cbut the DNA sample of a Chronosapian will suffice!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHold on, there\u2019s Chronosapian DNA in that thing?!\u201d the Doctor asked Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe form\u2019s called Clockwork,\u201d replied Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAzmuth made an agreement with the Time Lords!\u201d hissed the Doctor. \u201cAll temporally-sensitive life-forms will be locked unless in dire circumstances! How often have you used Clockwork?!\u201d Ben was denied the chance to answer. Vilgax and Psychobos were thrown through the door, smoking all over their bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou pitiful, barely sentient root v-v-vegetables!\u201d snarled Psychobos. \u201cAnd I use the term loosely!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou will regret crossing me, Skrem!\u201d promised Vilgax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI very much doubt it,\u201d replied Skrem. \u201cI will fade from this timeline, as will the rest of the 10th<\/sup> Sontaran Fleet as it stands, but Staal will make the original iteration of the fleet more powerful and more honorable with its victory through our sacrifice!
