On a forested, mountain planet, in the Outer Rim of its galaxy, there was a mountain. Inside that mountain was a base for genetic research. This was Tantiss Base, the Wayland Facility within Mount Tantiss, a base for the Imperial Cloning Program and its top project, Project Necromancer. Awaiting the arrival of a shuttle was a man in a black coat and pants with a white eye on his lapels. The eye had a lighting bolt going through it. The man himself had thin hair, sharp eyes, and pale skin. The shuttle arrived and a man in black robes exited. \u201cDr. Hemlock,\u201d greeted the man on the landing bay. \u201cThis is an unexpected pleasure. We\u2019re honored by your presence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou may dispense with the pleasantries, Professor Yarvelling,\u201d dismissed Dr. Royce Hemlock. \u201cI am here to put Project Necromancer back on schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI assure you, Dr. Hemlock,\u201d soothed the man, Professor Yarvelling, \u201cLurra Rus and I are working as fast as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPerhaps I can find new ways to motivate her,\u201d remarked Hemlock. Yarvelling then stood in front of Hemlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI tell you, Project Necromancer will see fruition as planned!\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Emperor does not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation,\u201d replied Hemlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut he asks the impossible! I need more test subjects!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPerhaps you can explain that to Lord Vader when he arrives tomorrow.\u201d Yarvelling balked at that threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cV-Vader is coming here?!\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat is correct, Professor,\u201d replied Hemlock. \u201cAnd he is most displeased with your lack of progress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe shall double our efforts!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI hope so, Professor, for your sake. Lord Vader and the Emperor are not as forgiving as I.\u201d With that, Hemlock and Yarvelling entered the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the mountain\u2019s base, a noise filled the air. A blue box then appeared out of thin air. The noise stopped and the Doctor and Amy stepped out. \u201c\u2026Doctor,\u201d said Amy, \u201cthis ISN\u2019T the water world you said the Octarians live on in my time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cErm, no,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cIn fact\u2026this isn\u2019t even the intended galaxy or time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Are we too far forward or too far back in time?\u201d asked Amy, arching an eye ridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cErm\u2026back,\u201d admitted the Doctor. \u201cPut simply, we\u2019re a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe encountered turbulence! I can\u2019t-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFREEZE!\u201d called a voice through a radio. The Doctor and Amy looked to see that they were surrounded by men in white armor and white helmets. The men were aiming laser weapons at the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh dear,\u201d muttered the Doctor. \u201cImperial Stormtroopers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a restricted planet!\u201d snapped one of the Stormtroopers. \u201cShow me your identification!\u201d The Doctor pulled out a wallet and handed it over. The Stormtrooper looked at the paper and appeared to stiffen. \u201c\u2026M-My apologies, Dr. Smith,\u201d he said, suddenly being much more polite. \u201cI had no idea you were conducting a test for the Emperor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd thanks to you lot, you botched that test!\u201d hissed the Doctor, thinking quickly. \u201cThis young lady and I were testing the stealth capabilities of Project Time Walker and you decided to bungle it! We can\u2019t exactly deal with Rebel Scum with these results! Take me to the one in charge here! I intend to lodge a formal complaint against you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cY-Yes, Dr. Smith!\u201d replied the Stormtrooper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd bring the TARDIS with you!\u201d The Stormtroopers followed the Doctor\u2019s orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Doctor and Amy were brought into Tantiss Base. The Doctor looked around in surprise. \u201c\u2026Tantiss Bass on the planet of Wayland,\u201d muttered the Doctor. \u201cAnd judging by the fact there are still Stormtroopers, I\u2019d say we\u2019re in the year 18 BBY.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBBY?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBefore the Battle of Yavin,\u201d explained the Doctor. \u201cThat\u2019s 18 years in the future. Right now, there\u2019s a scientific project going on called Project Necromancer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat, to raise the dead?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, but they might as well. I\u2019ll explain more when we\u2019re in our quarters.\u201d Speaking of which, they arrived in front of a set of quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll inform Dr. Hemlock of your arrival, Dr. Smith,\u201d said the Stormtrooper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, yes, you do that,\u201d replied the Doctor dismissively. The doors shut and someone gasped. The Doctor and Amy looked to see a blue-skinned woman with two head-tails instead of hair in scientist gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWho are you?!\u201d she demanded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo friend of the Empire, I can assure you, Miss\u2026\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Rus. Lurra Rus,\u201d introduced the woman. \u201cAnd you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, I\u2019m usually known as the Doctor. And this is my companion, Amy Rose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHi there,\u201d greeted Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd you\u2019re\u2026hang on, that\u2019s not safe to say yet, is it?\u201d guessed the Doctor. She tapped the walls, then opened a wall panel to find a device. \u201cAha! A bug problem!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo that\u2019s where it is!\u201d said Lurra Rus. The Doctor pinched the device, crushing it between her fingers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere, now we can talk and fill Amy in on what\u2019s happened in this galaxy,\u201d she said. \u201cMiss Rose, about a year ago, a man known as Sheev Palpatine from the planet of Naboo declared himself Emperor, sweeping aside the previous Republic in favor of the more fascist Galactic Empire. It was all part of a plan to eliminate a group of mystics called the Jedi. The Jedi used to be peacekeepers that carried laser swords and could tune in with this energy that organisms known as midi-chlorians utilized, giving them powers of levitation, telepathy, and other such powers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOf course, there are those that study the darker aspects of that energy, that which we call the Force,\u201d continued Lurra Rus. \u201cThat would be the Sith, the enemies of the Jedi\u2026and the victors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor the moment only, Miss Rus,\u201d said the Doctor. \u201cBut, yes, Amy, this whole Empire was to destroy the Jedi Order and Sheev Palpatine, excuse me, Darth Sidious, succeeded in destroying the original Order. He even corrupted a Jedi to become his Sith Apprentice. He was once known as Anakin Skywalker, now he\u2019s the cyborg Darth Vader.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Lord Vader? He used to be-?!\u201d asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, Miss Rus, the hero of the Clone Wars himself,\u201d confirmed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cH-How do you know this?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe\u2019s a Time Lord,\u201d explained Amy. \u201cHistory and the future are her backyard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA Time Lord?\u201d asked Lurra Rus. \u201cBut they\u2019re just a myth.\u201d As the Doctor was about to object, Dr. Hemlock arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was unaware of a new scientist coming,\u201d he said. \u201cPlease, accept my apologies for merely lumping you in with Miss Rus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s quite all right,\u201d assured the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTell me, what do you know about genetics?\u201d asked Dr. Hemlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI dabble in them on occasion, why?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen you should come with me and meet Professor Yarvelling.\u201d That name was a new one to the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLead on, then,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMiss Rus, kindly keep Miss Rose occupied,\u201d said Dr. Hemlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, Doctor,\u201d replied Lurra Rus. Dr. Hemlock and the Doctor then headed off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Why would you be here?\u201d Amy asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Midi-chlorian \u2018donation\u2019,\u201d replied Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two doctors arrived at the lab where Yarvelling was working. \u201cProfessor,\u201d called Dr. Hemlock. Yarvelling looked up and saw the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, Dr. Hemlock?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is Dr. Smith,\u201d explained Dr. Hemlock. \u201cShe will be assisting you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cVery well, Sir,\u201d replied Yarvelling. Dr. Hemlock left and Yarvelling and the Doctor were left alone. \u201cA pleasure to meet you, Dr. Smith,\u201d said Yarvelling. \u201cI am Professor Yar-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, I know you, Sir,\u201d replied the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Y\u2026You do?\u201d asked Yarvelling. It was then he noticed the fire in the Doctor\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh yes, I have my EYE on you,\u201d answered the Doctor. She pointed to the eye symbol on his lapels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Th-This is just a symbol from my home planet,\u201d assured Yarvelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour home planet of Skaro, yes?\u201d asked the Doctor. \u201cThat IS the symbol of the Kaled Elite, if I recall.\u201d By now, Yarvelling was puzzled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow do you know those words?\u201d he asked. He then goggled\u2026then snarled. \u201cYOU!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHello again, oh Dark Lord of Skaro!\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cOr should we stick to our names, eh Davros?\u201d It was then that the man dropped the fa\u00e7ade of Professor Yarvelling completely and allowed his real persona of Davros to come to the fore. The Creator of the Daleks snarled in fury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou DARE come to this time, Doctor?!\u201d he hissed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEntirely by accident, I assure you,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cSo, how are you enjoying having a full body again? Tell me, your voice sounds like it would before your synthesizer switches on. Is that what you looked like before the Thal shell?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was never my intention to regress to my pre-chair state!\u201d growled Davros. \u201cI point the finger of blame at YOU, Doctor!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMe?! YOU\u2019RE the one that swiped my regeneration energy last time we met, you lunatic! You should have known there would be consequences! I\u2019m surprised the Daleks didn\u2019t kill you for daring to tamper with their genetics like that!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe regeneration was supposed to keep me alive, not restore my old form!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, that\u2019s just the way the cookie crumbles!\u201d retorted the Doctor. \u201cIt\u2019s a lottery, regeneration! \u2026And speaking of genetics, I think I can guess why you\u2019re working on Project Necromancer.
