\u201cWe have to check,\u201d countered the Doctor. \u201cAnd given your history\u2026\u201d The Doctor let Magneto fill in the blanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Very well,\u201d he sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The person they went to was Mystique, a blue-skinned woman with yellow eyes and red hair. \u201cYou cannot be serious!\u201d she hissed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMystique, you must admit it would be your MO,\u201d remarked William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s my PAST, you dolt!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMystique, did you or did you not carry out such missions without question when I assigned them to you?\u201d asked Magneto. Mystique glared at the Master of Magnetism, then sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was nowhere near the area at the time of the stabbing,\u201d she said. \u201cI was at the west wing in the library, getting into an argument with Kurt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll check with him,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s this way,\u201d called William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWilliam!\u201d protested Lurra Rus as he made a wrong turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t get it!\u201d grumbled William. \u201cI have a better sense of direction than this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey!\u201d called a voice. Everyone turned to see a short man with big muscles and hair styled to look like a pair of horns with long sideburns. \u201cWhat are you guys doing, wandering the place?\u201d he asked gruffly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEveryone, meet Logan, better known as Wolverine,\u201d introduced William. \u201cAnd we\u2019re trying to confirm Mystique\u2019s story with Kurt, er, Nightcrawler.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe said she was busy arguing with Kurt in the library during the time of the thankfully non-fatal stabbing,\u201d explained the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe\u2019s telling the truth except for one thing,\u201d replied Wolverine. \u201cIt was a damned shouting match, not a normal argument. Anyways, I took a sniff in the air at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou did?\u201d asked the Doctor. \u201cDo you have super senses?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSure do, lady. The guy we\u2019re looking for ain\u2019t human in any capacity. His scent ain\u2019t exactly like yours or your friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut which one?\u201d muttered William. \u201cThe only ones I know about are Skrulls\u2026\u201d He trailed off when Wolverine nodded. \u201c\u2026You\u2019re telling us-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a Skrull here,\u201d replied Wolverine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA Skrull?\u201d muttered the Doctor. \u201cBut why? There\u2019s a peaceful Skrull colony here on Earth. And our Skrull apparently wanted a mutant to die.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat IS a Skrull, aside from being a shapeshifter?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, they\u2019re humanoid,\u201d replied the Doctor, \u201cgreen-skinned, pointy ears, bumpy chins, and are engaged in a war with the Kree. They use their shapeshifting powers to infiltrate a planet and take it over, usually. At least those that follow Queen Veranke.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd those that don\u2019t?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a colony of Skrulls that want to live peacefully with us,\u201d answered William. \u201cNot exactly popular with Veranke.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe need to find this Skrull,\u201d declared the Doctor. \u201cMr. Howlett, can you help us find a team we can trust?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow the hell did you-?!\u201d spluttered Wolverine, as he didn\u2019t reveal his surname. \u201c\u2026Never mind. Yeah, I can do that. Come on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wolverine gathered Storm and Professor X as well as a man with a ruby red visor and a man with three fingers, digitigrade legs, blue skin, pointy ears, yellow eyes, and a tail. The blue person was Kurt Wagner, Nightcrawler, and the man with the visor was Scott Summers, Cyclops. \u201cA Skrull?!\u201d asked Cyclops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey have an anti-mutant population too?\u201d quizzed Nightcrawler. He rolled his eyes. \u201cWunderbar. Such an advanced civilization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEven Wakanda has its racism problems,\u201d replied Storm. \u201cThe stories I could tell you about those who flat out said to T\u2019Challa\u2019s face that opening Wakanda\u2019s borders was a mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019d argue Gallifrey has worse, but that\u2019s neither here nor there,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy gather us specifically, Wolverine?\u201d asked Nightcrawler. \u201cProfessor X and yourself, I can understand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re a teleporter, so you can confuse the Skrull when it comes down to it,\u201d replied Wolverine, \u201cCyke\u2019s a tactician, and Storm can unbalance our Skrull with her weather abilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right,\u201d said the Doctor, \u201cwe\u2019ll need to-.\u201d Professor X then gasped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProfessor X?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s Magneto!\u201d replied Professor X. \u201cHe\u2019s got the same idea!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut probably not as peaceful!\u201d gasped Storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe gotta stop him!\u201d urged Cyclops as he grabbed the handles on Professor X\u2019s wheelchair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHurry, my X-Men!\u201d called Professor X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magneto and Mystique were accompanied by a man with a silver helmet and a black suit as well as a muscular man with razor sharp teeth and claws. The muscular man was snarling at a poor girl. \u201cAll right, Skrully!\u201d he said. \u201cDrop the act and no one gets hurt!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m telling you, I\u2019m not a Skrull!\u201d begged the girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have no patience for games,\u201d said Magneto. \u201cWe know there\u2019s a Skrull impersonating a student at this school. Now, kindly tell us who you are and-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMAGNETO!\u201d called Professor X. Magneto and his group turned to see Professor X, the Doctor, and their group arriving. \u201cWhat do you think you\u2019re doing?!\u201d demanded Magneto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd why\u2019d you smuggle Sabretooth and Avalanche here?!\u201d snarled Nightcrawler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese two were necessary for my search,\u201d replied Magneto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBrutal interrogations aren\u2019t the way to find the Skrull!\u201d hissed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe interrogations shall make this one more compliant,\u201d dismissed Mystique. \u201cEach suspect will be questioned and subjected to genetic testing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOr, here\u2019s a novel idea,\u201d said William, \u201cyou could just let Professor Xavier here read the person\u2019s mind!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSkrulls have developed anti-psychic technology,\u201d replied Magneto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDo you have ANY evidence that this young lady is a Skrull?\u201d asked Storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow can we have evidence,\u201d asked Avalanche, \u201cuntil we conduct our tests?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis school is supposed to be a haven for mutants!\u201d replied Cyclops. \u201cYou\u2019re subjecting them to what the Right would want to subject us all to!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe assumed you would welcome the assistance,\u201d said Magneto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMagnus, you need to stop before this gets out of hand as the Skrull most likely wants!\u201d insisted Professor X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have mutants to protect, Charles. Do not interfere.\u201d Magneto used his magnetic powers to make a knife float to his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot a chance!\u201d snarled Storm. She then used her own powers to create a small gale to knock Magneto and his Brotherhood off their feet. Magneto snarled when he picked himself up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cQUEEN ORORO, THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!\u201d he shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI agree,\u201d replied Storm, \u201cbut I am left with no choice. You\u2019re attacking an innocent student for all we know. Now, once more, leave her alone!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are your allies!\u201d insisted Magneto. By then, there was a familiar \u201cSNKT\u201d as Wolverine extended his claws!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy friend, you may want to stand down,\u201d warned the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you will not follow common sense,\u201d snarled Magneto, \u201cthen I will make you understand why you\u2019re in the wrong! ATTACK!\u201d The Brotherhood leapt at the X-Men and team TARDIS. Avalanche put his hands to the ground and made the earth shake. Nightcrawler vanished with a \u201cBAMF\u201d and vanished with a smell of sulfur, then reappeared and pounded on Avalanche\u2019s back. Cyclops raised his visor and unleashed a force beam that knocked Avalanche to the floor as Lurra Rus practiced her new telekinetic powers to throw a vase at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Storm and Wolverine rushed at Mystique and Sabretooth. Sabretooth was grinning like a maniac. \u201cSo, Logan, you still slumming with these idiots?!\u201d he cackled as he slashed at Wolverine with his claws. Wolverine didn\u2019t say anything. \u201cAw, what\u2019s the matter?\u201d taunted Sabretooth. \u201cYou believe that old saying about being quiet if you can\u2019t say anything nice? You know that\u2019s a load of crap!\u201d Wolverine stayed on the defensive, then rolled out of the way as Storm unleashed a lightning bolt at Sabretooth. Thanks to having a metal skeleton, Sabretooth twitched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s just a taser wound for guys like us,\u201d remarked Wolverine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh hush,\u201d admonished Storm. \u201cThat\u2019s just the opening.\u201d Amy\u2019s hammer then carried Mystique into Sabretooth\u2019s head and rang their bells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026How the hell did you knock out a guy with an adamantium skull?\u201d Wolverine asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet\u2019s figure that out later,\u201d replied Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magneto floated to Professor X. \u201cI have no quarrel with you, Charles, as I know you better than any Skrull could,\u201d said the Master of Magnetism, \u201cbut you must allow my Brotherhood to proceed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMagnus, please!\u201d begged Professor X. \u201cThis is sure to cause division in the school!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf the school falls apart, it will be on YOUR head, Charles,\u201d replied Magneto. Just then, he felt himself collapsing. Someone had jabbed their pinky into his chin, targeting a pressure point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, sir,\u201d replied the paralyzer, the Doctor, \u201cit will be on YOURS.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, the helmet!\u201d called Professor X. The Doctor knocked Magneto\u2019s helmet off and Professor X unleashed a psychic attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
William was keeping Brandon from getting involved. \u201cCome on, Will!\u201d complained Brandon. \u201cI\u2019m an X-Man!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn training, from what Professor X told me!\u201d replied William. \u201cI\u2019d rather NOT have to practice my medical skills on my baby brother! Saving Dad from a heart attack was bad enough.\u201d William then noticed someone approaching. \u2026It was the stabbed student! \u201cHey! What are you doing up?! Get your ass back in-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDIE!\u201d shouted the student as he pulled out an alien gun! Time slowed down for William at least. He honestly thought he was going to die. The weapon fired\u2026then someone leapt in front of the shot! It was only when he heard a gasp thanks to the shot actually hitting his savior that he recognized who it was!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
