There\u2019s no stun setting on this thing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNever mind that!\u201d insisted Amy. \u201cThe Doctor\u2019s hurt and-!\u201d She stopped when she saw the exposed collar area stitch itself up in a glow. \u201c\u2026Oh no!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d asked Nightcrawler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA form of accelerated healing?\u201d scoffed Trakis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go ahead and hold your regeneration back, but you\u2019re signing this.\u201d He pulled out an Against Medical Advice form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re not serious!\u201d protested the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI told you the risks according to the evidence in our quest for the Key to Time,\u201d replied William. \u201cYou wanna hold off on the regeneration? You\u2019re signing this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Fine!\u201d sighed the Doctor. She signed the form. \u201cMay I go now?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cVery well,\u201d said William. The Doctor got up and strode off, her hand briefly glowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I don\u2019t like this at all,\u201d shuddered Amy. \u201cWilliam, are you sure the law prevents you from doing anything?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTime Lords aren\u2019t gods,\u201d corrected the Doctor, \u201cbut I AM going to use a bit of Gallifreyan tech on him.\u201d She pulled out her sonic screwdriver, then Wolverine sniffed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Your scent\u2019s changing,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRegeneration,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cGonna be a totally new person when this is over.\u201d She entered the room and Trakis looked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Danger Room, a training facility meant to push a mutant\u2019s powers to their greatest capabilities. The room has been upgraded over the decades, even with alien technology. \u201cDoc, what\u2019s the idea?\u201d asked Wolverine after he and Sabretooth put Trakis in the room and joined the Doctor in the control room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet\u2019s just say I want to demonstrate the anomaly I picked up,\u201d replied the Doctor. She started the Danger Room at its lowest setting. A few flamethrower traps popped out of the walls and the floors, but Trakis rolled out of the way and fired on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s using a gun,\u201d remarked Sabretooth. \u201cThat\u2019s cheating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRelax,\u201d soothed the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLevel 1: Complete,\u201d said the Danger Room computer. The Doctor then increased the difficulty. More traps appeared, this time adding nets. Trakis accomplished evading them. \u201cLevel 2: Complete,\u201d said the computer. This went on and on with Trakis starting to get tired by the time level 43 rolled around. By then, Professor X and Cyclops had arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, don\u2019t you think this is a bit much?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTrust me,\u201d assured the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor,\u201d interjected Cyclops, \u201che\u2019s tiring out! Even our strongest mutants need a break between-!\u201d Then, it happened. A laser shot hit Trakis in the knee!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cARGH!\u201d Trakis grabbed his knee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cInjury detected!\u201d reported the Danger Room computer. \u201cDanger Room shutting down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRgh! Dammit! It\u2019s starting!\u201d grunted Trakis as he clasped his knee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo there IS merit to that reading I took,\u201d mused the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoc?\u201d asked Wolverine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I scanned him with my sonic screwdriver,\u201d replied the Doctor, \u201cthere was a gene that didn\u2019t conform with the known Skrull genome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA gene?\u201d asked Sabretooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHold on a minute, you\u2019re not serious,\u201d remarked Cyclops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, when a bigot spews anti-gay rhetoric, what\u2019s the conclusion some reach?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat the bigot is a heavily closeted gay themselves,\u201d replied Wolverine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExactly,\u201d confirmed the Doctor. \u201cDoes the same hold true among the mutant community?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt does,\u201d replied Professor X. \u201cI\u2019ve met bigots that spew anti-mutant rhetoric only to read their minds and find that they\u2019re hoping no one else finds out they\u2019re a mutant themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, observe,\u201d directed the Doctor. Metal then spread from Trakis\u2019 knee!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHoly crap!\u201d said Wolverine. \u201cThat\u2019s Colossus\u2019 power!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd Trakis is no Super Skrull!\u201d confirmed the Doctor. The metal had fully encased Trakis. He looked like a metal statue of himself that moved as fluidly as any living being. \u201cBehold! A Skrull mutant!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
