The hexagonal console itself was red with gold trim and controls. The Time Rotor in the center of the console was still transparent, but one could see new machinery inside it. There were walkways and stairs running along the walls with different doors. The Doctor\u2019s sky-blue coat hung outside a door on ground level. Everyone headed to the door. \u201cDoctor?\u201d called William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome in! I need some opinions!\u201d replied the Doctor from inside. The group entered the room to discover that it was a huge wardrobe! The shelves and open closets stretched all the way to the ceiling with a spiral staircase in the center of the room and walkways stretching out from the stairs. The Doctor then stepped out wearing a brown coat, a floppy brimmed hat, and an absurdly long, multicolored scarf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Um, Doctor?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\u2019re right, this is just for the nostalgia,\u201d remarked the Doctor as she tossed the hat away. She then disappeared into one of the closets and reappeared coming out onto one of the walkways above. She wore a leather jacket this time. \u201c\u2026No, don\u2019t exactly sound like I\u2019m from Northern England.\u201d She went into another closet, then she appeared on a walkway below the group, wearing a patchwork, multi-colored coat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNO!\u201d shouted the group as they averted their eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaybe in a Pride Parade!\u201d called William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I know what the real issue is!\u201d said the Doctor as she snapped her fingers. \u201cI\u2019m wearing trousers!\u201d She disappeared into another closet, then came out onto a walkway above the group. She had a skirt on, a tweed jacket, and a bow tie and fez. \u201c\u2026Mmm, bow ties ARE cool and so\u2019s the fez, but\u2026no, not me this time.\u201d She then disappeared into another closet. \u201cAHA!\u201d she called from within the closet. Her friends then heard a pop like someone finishing putting on their lipstick. The Doctor then rejoined her friends. She wore a woolly coat that obscured her features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Is\u2026that what you\u2019re going with?\u201d asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, THIS is!\u201d The Doctor removed the coat to reveal that she was wearing a skirt that had a dome shape stopping at her thigh and was hemmed with large roses. She had a strap top on in the same wine color as her skirt and wore a red jacket with a fur boa wrapped around her shoulders, black opera gloves, black tights, pale gold flats on her feet, red lipstick, and a pale gold headband with a rose on its left hand side. She had also pulled her hair into an updo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOoh! Now THAT\u2019S an elegant ensemble!\u201d praised Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, I think I\u2019ll go with this one!\u201d agreed the Doctor as she looked in the mirror. \u201cNow, with that out of the way, there\u2019s something else in the back of my mind. Something about \u2026time?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, you ARE a Time Lord,\u201d reminded Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI remember what TARDIS stands for and what it can do,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cBut no, this is something else.\u201d Just then, an energy wave washed over everyone. They seemed unaffected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA chronal surge,\u201d answered the Doctor. \u201cAs if time had spat someone from one time zone to ano-!\u201d She stopped herself as she remembered something. \u201c\u2026The Grouping!\u201d she gasped. She then rushed to the console! \u201cTelepathic circuits! Telepathic circuits! Where are they?! Where are they?!\u201d She then saw a blinking light. \u201c\u2026Or Gallifrey could start a Zoom call, that\u2019s the next best thing.\u201d The Doctor pressed the button near the light. \u201cThis is the Doctor, receiving you, Gallifrey!\u201d A man\u2019s face then appeared on the scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, are you all right?\u201d asked the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStognav!\u201d greeted the Doctor. \u201cI\u2019m fine, but that chronal surge-!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve detected others, Doctor. \u2026Did the surge-?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo, no, I was shot by a Skrull before that happened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI see,\u201d said Stognav. \u201cWell, we can at least pinpoint what happened during your local chronal surge. Something from the 29th<\/sup> century took advantage of it and is now at your location. Some time travelling races can take advantage of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd not every time traveling race follows the Doctor\u2019s example,\u201d said Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSo the Daleks could take advantage of it,\u201d sighed William.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThey could,\u201d remarked the Doctor as she checked her instruments. \u201c\u2026But we have more immediate concerns. The shuttle fired, but Skarla dodged. The weather then turned dark as storm clouds gathered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMistress, we need to-!\u201d urged Veranke\u2019s aide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEngage teleporter!\u201d ordered Veranke. \u201cWe\u2019ll retrieve the shuttle later!\u201d She and her aide then hopped onto the teleporter and vanished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Skarla saw the flash of the teleporter. \u201cCrapbaskets!\u201d she swore. \u201cStorm, there was a teleporter in that shuttle!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBast\u2019s sake!\u201d grumbled Storm, using her husband\u2019s preferred swear. \u201cAll right, we\u2019ll need to get this shuttle away from here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBetter warn the harbor!\u201d replied Skarla. \u201cI\u2019ll take care of getting it away from the city!\u201d Storm sped off and did so, then Skarla stretched her arms and wrapped around the shuttle\u2019s wings, then used her immense strength to throw the shuttle towards the harbor. She then created an invisible force field slide so the shuttle could land on something and slide down it away from any boats or ships out there. The shuttle splashed into the water outside the harbor. Skarla and Storm then made their way back to Avengers\u2019 Tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOkay, so a teleporter was used,\u201d muttered the Doctor when she got the news as she worked on a device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019ll have to search the city for those two,\u201d muttered Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoctor, we\u2019re shape-shifters!\u201d reminded Skarla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cExactly, which is why I\u2019m thinking of drawing them here,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cThere we go! And, hopefully, with good audio projection AND reception.\u201d The Doctor pulled out her sonic screwdriver, switched the drone on with it, and the drone took off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYour Majesty, a drone!\u201d called Veranke\u2019s aide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhat in the name of-?\u201d muttered Veranke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoctor calling Veranke!\u201d came the Doctor\u2019s voice, loud and clear. \u201cDoctor calling Veranke! You have two options available to you. Either retrieve your shuttle and leave this planet or come to Avengers\u2019 Tower to settle this and be forced to leave this planet. Speak aloud which option you pick.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFoolish Doctor!\u201d laughed Veranke. \u201cI accept your invitation to Avengers\u2019 Tower! And I shall take care of you first before I deal with Trakis!
