A giant creature of humanoid shape and crimson skin flew through space with a navy-blue and black striped cat. They both wore red bodysuits and wore a red ring. The creature wore his ring on his finger while the cat wore his on his tail. The creature growled as he and the cat landed on a barren world. \u201cWe must face facts, Dex-starr,\u201d growled the creature, \u201cthere just aren\u2019t enough people that are angry enough to join us.\u201d The cat, Dex-starr, trilled questioningly. \u201cNo, no, we cannot do that. We tried it once and it led to Guy Gardner temporarily usurping me!\u201d That was when an energy wave passed over them! \u201cWhat in-?!\u201d Dex-starr arched his back, yowling in a threatening posture. The creature raised his ring to his mouth. \u201cIdentify energy wave!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEnergy wave has been identified as a chronal surge,\u201d replied the ring\u2019s AI. \u201cConsequences unknown.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnalyze and figure out-!\u201d the creature stopped himself as he felt something in his suit. It felt like\u2026sand? \u201cHow in-?!\u201d A pile of sand fell from his suit and started forming the upper torso of a strange creature. The creature\u2019s legs hovered in the air above it! \u201c\u2026Ring, what IS that life-form?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLife-form is an Imagin,\u201d replied the ring, \u201ca being from an aborted timeline.\u201d The creature\u2019s eyes widened. He had heard of the Imagin before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour wish,\u201d said the Imagin. \u201cSay your wish. I can grant any wish. You can pay me with one thing only.\u201d The creature stroked his chin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Any wish, you say?\u201d he asked. \u201c\u2026I wish for more Red Lanterns to finally slay the Guardians!\u201d The legs then floated to the ground as the Imagin\u2019s torso floated above the legs and attached itself to them. The Imagin then adopted a gray color with a lantern motif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou want soldiers then, Atrocitus?\u201d asked the new Lantern Imagin. \u201cI shall provide!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHold!\u201d shouted the creature, Atrocitus. The Lantern Imagin stopped. \u201c\u2026You SHALL be fulfilling my wish, but you\u2019re not ready yet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet me fulfill our contract and I shall be,\u201d replied the Lantern Imagin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot how this works, not when you\u2019ve locked your full potential. Dex-starr would spill your guts and lap your blood in your current state\u2026but I sense that you have a higher calling. A spark glowing within you! A spark\u2026of RAGE!\u201d Atrocitus then vomited his napalm blood all over the Imagin\u2019s face. The Lantern Imagin howled in pain as he collapsed to his knees, the blood burning him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWH-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!\u201d he screamed. \u201cWHAT IS THIS\u2026THIS ANGER?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou fought to restore your timeline,\u201d replied Atrocitus, \u201cbut Den-O killed your leader, Kai! He prevented Hana from being killed! He restored her timeline over yours! \u2026How can you ever forgive him?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2026I CAN\u2019T!\u201d admitted the Lantern Imagin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen BURN!\u201d A red ring then flew towards the Lantern Imagin, hovering just in front of his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLantern Imagin. You have great rage in your heart.\u201d The voice came from the ring. The Lantern Imagin looked up at the ring\u2026then held his hand out! The ring then fastened onto his finger! \u201cYou belong to Atrocitus!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecome vengeance!\u201d urged Atrocitus. \u201cRecite the oath! Join the Red Lantern Corps!\u201d The Lantern Imagin panted, then steeled himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026With blood\u2026and rage\u2026of crimson red, ripped from a corpse\u2026so freshly dead, together with our hellish hate,\u201d a suit then formed over the Lantern Imagin! \u201cWE\u2019LL BURN YOU ALL! THAT IS YOUR FATE!\u201d The rage, amplified by his ring, overcame his sanity and he charged at Atrocitus. Atrocitus opened a portal and stepped aside so the new Red Lantern would fly through. Once it was confirmed the Lantern Imagin went through with a splash on the other end, Atrocitus grinned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome, Dex-starr!\u201d he ordered. \u201cWe have an army to build!\u201d Dex-starr trilled in agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Doctor hummed to herself as she checked the console. \u201cDada da da, da DA da\u2026Climax Jump!\u201d she sang. \u201c\u2026That\u2019s odd. How did that song get into my head? \u2026Ah well, I\u2019ll figure it out later. Let\u2019s see\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, shouldn\u2019t we have found evidence of a chronal surge by now?\u201d asked Amy as she walked into the console room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTracking them takes a while, Amy,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cIt\u2019s not like waiting for a train on the platform.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut we\u2019ve gotten ahead of one before,\u201d reminded Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat took intense calculations,\u201d answered the Doctor. As Amy was about to protest, the console beeped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat was that?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cProximity alert,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cBut that doesn\u2019t make sense, we\u2019re drifting in the vortex. Let me see\u2026\u201d As the Doctor checked her readings, Lurra Rus entered the console room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe found something in the Time Vortex,\u201d replied Amy. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s another time machine?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what it is,\u201d interjected the Doctor. \u201cBut the shape of it doesn\u2019t make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause bullet trains shouldn\u2019t be time travel capable,\u201d answered the Doctor. She then worked the controls. \u201cI\u2019m going to come alongside it, see if I can talk to them.\u201d The scanner flicked on to show that she successfully went alongside the train as it summoned rails for itself. The locomotive itself had angled red windows, almost like insect eyes. The Doctor then switched on the comms. \u201cAttention! Attention! This is the Doctor aboard the TARDIS! You seem to be lost in the Time Vortex! We are capable and willing to render any assistance-!\u201d A person on a motorcycle hooked up to a machine then appeared. The person looked like a red-skinned oni with two horns and black orbs for eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat do you want?!\u201d he complained. The Doctor goggled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAn Imagin?\u201d she said. \u201cI thought you all went extinct.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSome of us survived! Now beat it!\u201d insisted the oni Imagin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSir, your train appears to be travelling in something it\u2019s not meant to,\u201d said the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome on, the Den Liner\u2019s fine!\u201d the oni Imagin dismissed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDen Liner? I thought that was fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s real, all right!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat IS the Den Liner?\u201d asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA train that travels through time,\u201d explained the Doctor. \u201cBut it usually travels through a subdimension referred to as the Sands of Time, a byproduct of the Time Vortex.\u201d The console then beeped and the Doctor checked the readings. Her eyes widened in horror. \u201cOh no!\u201d She returned her attention to the call. \u201cListen, Oni Imagin or whatever kind of Imagin you are-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy name is Momotaros!\u201d barked the Imagin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Imagins have-? Never mind. Momotaros, my sensors have detected a chronal surge appearing just ahead of us! I must urge you to divert your course!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t take orders from anyone!\u201d retorted Momotaros. \u201cAnd the Den Liner\u2019s sensors don\u2019t detect any \u2018chronal surge\u2019 or whatever the heck you call it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, my sensors DO! So will you please divert your course-?!\u201d Momotaros ended the call. \u201c\u2026And now I have to save him!\u201d grumbled the Doctor as she worked the console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, what will that chronal surge-?!\u201d asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll be caught up in it, there\u2019s no two ways around this,\u201d replied the Doctor. \u201cFor now, we can only cushion the blow against the Den Liner. Extending TARDIS shields as far as I can dare\u2026brace yourselves!\u201d The TARDIS shook as it was hit by the chronal surge! Both it and the Den Liner were taken out of the Time Vortex and into normal space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aboard a space station, a man with a green jumpsuit, eye mask, and ring was sitting at the monitors. A man in a red suit with yellow lightning decorations then appeared in a red blur. \u201cAnything interesting?\u201d asked the man in the red suit, the Flash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNah, it\u2019s been\u2026well, I don\u2019t really wanna say it now,\u201d replied the man in the green suit, the Green Lantern. The monitors then flashed. \u201cOh, come on! I didn\u2019t even say it!\u201d complained Green Lantern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs that a\u2026bullet train?\u201d muttered the Flash. Green Lantern then zoomed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026It is! And look at the side!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe TARDIS! They\u2019re gonna crash into the Watchtower!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou monitor the situation! I\u2019m gonna stop them!\u201d Green Lantern flew out of his seat and summoned a green lantern. He then pressed his ring against it. \u201cIn brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evil\u2019s might beware my power, Green Lantern\u2019s light!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRing fully charged,\u201d reported his ring. Green Lantern then stashed his battery away and made it outside. The train and the TARDIS were racing towards the Watchtower out of control! Green Lantern created a catcher\u2019s glove from his ring and jet boots around his feet. He caught the two vehicles in the glove and fired his jet boots, hoping to at least slow the two vehicles down!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHal, you\u2019re not slowing down!\u201d warned the Flash over the comms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome on! Just a little more!\u201d strained Green Lantern as he added more power to his rocket boots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
