\u201cAppalling ape?\u201d interrupted Donkey Kong as everyone approached the villains and the Elder they were harassing. The Kong Elder\u2019s face lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow THERE\u2019S someone who proved worthy of learning the Kong Bananza!\u201d he said. \u201cAs well as the other four! Welcome back, DK and Pauline!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh for-! And Mario too!\u201d complained Bowser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNice to see you too, Bowser,\u201d muttered Mario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBowser, we don\u2019t have time to argue!\u201d urged Peach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh! Peachy!\u201d replied Bowser, his voice attempting a sexy purr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBowser, we have a bigger problem that would destroy this planet!\u201d continued Peach. \u201cThere\u2019s a group of people called the Cybermen that intend to sieze control of the Bananzas!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey do not have the full power of the Bananzas they stole, your Highness,\u201d soothed the Kong Elder. \u201cBut they DID disrupt Donkey Kong\u2019s connection with them by using their own frequencies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBananza: the Cyber-Remix, hm?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what it is, Doctor.\u201d The Doctor blinked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026I seem to be at a disadvantage,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know of you, Doctor. Your travels in time and space, your TARDIS, they are known to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHang on, THAT\u2019S the Doctor?!\u201d yelped Bowser. \u201cThe same one that had to help me during that mess with the Daleks?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe same Doctor that upended my plans with the Tiki Tak Tribe?!\u201d continued King K. Rool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes to both,\u201d replied the Doctor, \u201cno, I\u2019m not explaining regeneration, I did enough of that today. Kong Elder, we need to keep the Cybermen from learning the Kong Bananza.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe solution is simple,\u201d answered the Kong Elder. \u201cDK, you remember where I store my Ancient Record, yes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah,\u201d replied Donkey Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHold on, a Bananza ceremony? Now?\u201d asked Pauline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBananza ceremony?\u201d asked Lurra Rus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUm, whatever it is, better get started now!\u201d warned Amy. \u201cThey\u2019re right behind us!\u201d The heavy footsteps of the Cybermen needed no explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBe right back!\u201d yelped Donkey Kong as he knuckled away at top speed. Bowser, King K. Rool, Mario, and Amy got ready to fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDoctor, you will surrender the Kong Elder to us,\u201d demanded the Cyber Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo chance!\u201d replied the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou will surrender the Kong Elder or we will take him and learn his Bananza as we\u2019ve learned the others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNot the full powered Bananza!\u201d scoffed Pauline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIncorrect,\u201d replied the Cyber Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow about I show you the full power of a Bananza?!\u201d called Donkey Kong as he returned with a giant record with a red Kong symbol in the center. He put it onto a DJ table at the Kong Elder\u2019s feet. The record then spun and glowed as ancient music played for a bit. Just then, domed walls grew around everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWHAT IN-?!\u201d yelped the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s okay! We\u2019ll be fine!\u201d assured Donkey Kong as the immediate area went dark as the last of the dome was filled in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll units, activate search lights,\u201d ordered the Cyber Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCalm down,\u201d replied the Kong Elder. \u201cDK, Pauline, combine your power once more and show me that you\u2019ve still got it!\u201d Spotlights then shone down on Donkey Kong and Pauline as they were on a stage. Their friends realized that they were now surrounded by Salvager Monkeys hooting in anticipation. \u201cBANANZA!\u201d roared the Kong Elder. A beat then played. Pauline snapped her fingers in time to the beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Ready, DK?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou know it!\u201d replied Donkey Kong. He then pounded his chest in time to the beat and hooted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTime for some nostalgia!\u201d said Pauline. She then grabbed the microphone in front of her, took a breath, then shouted \u201cDK!\u201d Donkey Kong then glowed\u2026and punched hard! Music played as Donkey Kong revealed that he was now black-furred with grey exposed skin, like a normal gorilla, wore a banana headdress and bracelets, and had red eyes. Everyone, minus the Cybermen, started dancing like it was a nightclub! Pauline sang a song in a language no one recognized as the Kong Elder held his headphones to make sure the song was just right while he vibed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHOHO!\u201d laughed the Kong Elder. \u201cIt\u2019s the Kong Elder, coming at you live! I can feel it! You\u2019ve still got it, DK and Pauline! Now, show these Cybermen the true power of the Kong Bananza!\u201d The area changed into a strange light-filled void with metallic platforms floating and holding everyone up. Pauline hopped onto Donkey Kong\u2019s back, still singing, and Donkey Kong wound up for a punch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cActivate-.\u201d The Cyber Leader couldn\u2019t finish his order as Donkey Kong threw his punch and created an energy wave that changed the bits of terrain and the Cyber Leader\u2019s chest unit into gold! The Cyber Leader\u2019s chest unit exploded as he screamed and fell to the ground. A Cyberman activated a scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Gold!\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYEAH! How do you like them apples?!\u201d shouted Donkey Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s\u2026the full power of a Bananza?!\u201d yelped the Doctor. \u201cYou can turn things into gold?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I want to, yes,\u201d replied Donkey Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDeputy, we must retreat!\u201d urged one of the Cybermen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo,\u201d replied the Cyber Deputy. \u201cWe must learn the skills of a Bananza at full power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll it will take for us, Deputy,\u201d the Cyberman went on, \u201cis for one misplaced attack! The Cyber Race cannot utilize golden weapons at this stage and the terrain will be turned against us! We must focus on the Banandium Root!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Your logic is correct,\u201d agreed the Cyber Deputy. \u201cWe must use the Banandium Root first. Retreat.\u201d The Cybermen gave covering fire as they managed to escape. The world around everyone then returned to the Lagoon Layer and the Kong Bananza faded, turning Donkey Kong back to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have to go after the Banandium Root!\u201d urged Pauline. \u201cIf the Cybermen get ahold of it, the Root will grant their wishes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCome on, everyone, into the TARDIS!\u201d called the Doctor. \u201cAnd that means you too, Bowser, King K. Rool!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThem?!\u201d protested Peach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, them! We\u2019ll need their strength!\u201d replied the Doctor. She led everyone into the TARDIS and the two villains goggled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Unbelievable!\u201d whispered King K. Rool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDonkey Kong, you\u2019re sure the Banandium Root\u2019s at the core of the planet?\u201d asked the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPositive,\u201d replied Donkey Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight then, here we go!\u201d The Doctor set the controls and the TARDIS took off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Planet Core, the layer with the most sublayers of the Underground World, the resting place of the Banandium Root, and, right now, the source of a massive army of Koopas and Kremlings! Surrounding the army was a flowing sphere of gold with a walkway allowing access. The TARDIS landed on the walkway and everyone stepped out. \u201cWoo! Feel that power!\u201d cheered Donkey Kong. \u201cThis is one of those areas where I can stay in a Bananza forever!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cReally?\u201d asked Amy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe gold here,\u201d explained Pauline, \u201chas something called bananergy, similar to Star or Moon power. Ordinarily, DK would run out of bananergy unless he scooped up enough gold.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLord Bowser! King K. Rool!\u201d called a Koopa. \u201cWe managed to secure the sinkholes, Sirs! We thought you\u2019d be using them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA good show of initiative,\u201d replied King K. Rool, \u201cbut we secured alternate transport with the Doctor\u2019s TARDIS.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd now, after all this\u2026\u201d said Bowser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTHE BANANDIUM ROOT IS MINE!\u201d shouted both villains. They then glared at one another. \u201c\u2026The Banandium Root is MINE!\u201d they both protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs now REALLY the time for stabbing each other in the back?!\u201d argued the Doctor. \u201cThe Cybermen are on their way here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey don\u2019t know about the sinkholes connecting the layers!\u201d scoffed King K. Rool. \u201cThey\u2019re taking the long way around and I\u2019ll have used my wishes against them!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m the one getting my wishes granted here!\u201d argued Bowser. \u201cKoopas! Form up!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMake turtle soup out of them, you pilfering-!\u201d King K. Rool didn\u2019t get the chance to finish his order as a Cyber Gun fired on them all, scattering them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou were saying?!\u201d said Amy. The Cyber Driller had arrived and the Cybermen opened fire. The Cyber Deputy was upgraded into the new Cyber Leader during the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLeader,\u201d reported the new Cyber Deputy, \u201cthe highest concentration of bananergy is within that structure. Logic dictates the Banandium Root is inside. As long as our chest units are protected, we shall withstand the concentration of gold.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
