\u201cWatch it, Goku, or I\u2019ll destroy you!\u201d warned Beerus as he summoned a ball of purple and black energy. Goku wisely backed off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBesides, Grand Zeno has ordered that Gallifrey is untouchable, as is the society of Time Lords,\u201d remarked Whis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll right!\u201d declared the Doctor once she and Kirby were finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have an idea,\u201d explained Kirby, \u201cbut we\u2019ll need Bulma\u2019s notes on her time machine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat?!\u201d yelped Bulma. \u201cAre you trying to get me in trouble with Beerus and Whis here?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou kept notes on that thing?\u201d asked Beerus menacingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019ll be properly destroyed when we\u2019re done, Lord Beerus,\u201d assured Kirby. \u201cNow, come on, Dr. Briefs. Let\u2019s get those notes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight, come on,\u201d said Bulma. She led Kirby to the lab. Whis and Beerus shuddered once Kirby left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBeastly thing!\u201d gulped Whis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s your problem with him?\u201d asked Goku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey\u2019re afraid of what he represents,\u201d replied the Doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI fear nothing, Doctor!\u201d snarled Beerus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a lie, you fear the ultimate truth that even someone like Grand Zeno is capable of a mistake and Kirby is living proof of that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBLASPHEMY!\u201d shouted Whis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTruth,\u201d retorted the Doctor. \u201cWhy else would Grand Zeno look for new experiences?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe\u2019s right, you know,\u201d said Kirby as he and Bulma returned with the notes. \u201cNow, I made sure Bulma purged every single paper relating to time travel from her computers and backups, but we need to keep these physical copies until the machine the Doctor and I will build is complete. Let\u2019s get to work, Doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRight.\u201d The Doctor and Kirby got to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was taking a long time and Goku and Vegeta amused themselves with sparring. The shockwaves and noises of their blows and banter caught the Doctor\u2019s attention. \u201cGoodness,\u201d she said. \u201cThe Saiyan desire for dominance comes to the fore when those two play.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey haven\u2019t fully gotten along,\u201d remarked Whis. \u201cNow, Doctor\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was sometime after he destroyed six universes because of his sour mood. \u2026But he can\u2019t do that if his attendants are so\u2026clinical.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA being that needs to improve,\u201d remarked Kirby. \u201cALL beings need to improve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen why devour them before they get the chance?\u201d asked Whis coldly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gods seem to forget what makes life fun and happy, focusing too much on cosmic threats and doom and gloom. But there\u2019s more to life than that. Heck, look at Beerus, he\u2019s become friends with the Saiyans and I\u2019ll bet you, deep down, he enjoys it because it reminds him what his job is supposed to be about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She helped me along in eventually becoming friends with Ian and Barbara. I know, I know, their lives are brief compared to mine, but the way I see it, having worthwhile friends despite brief lives makes my own life all the more fulfilling. It looks like the same could be said for you, but your indoctrination has been holding you back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What they said had managed to set what he learned on its ear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beerus overheard the whole conversation. He pondered his next move and realized that what he had in mind would be so easy. He looked up to the sky to see Goku and Vegeta sparring as they were wont to do. \u201c\u2026Hmmm. \u2026He DOES have that button,\u201d the God of Destruction said to himself. \u201c\u2026Yes, I think that will do.\u201d He then cupped his hands to his mouth. \u201cHEY! GOKU! VEGETA! QUIT FIGHTING AND COME DOWN HERE!\u201d Goku and Vegeta looked down\u2026and promptly punched each other in the jaw, making them plummet down to earth. Beerus pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. The two Saiyans then approached Beerus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s up, Beerus?\u201d asked Goku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs it about Cell?\u201d quizzed Vegeta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGoku, you still have that button Grand Zeno gave to you?\u201d asked Beerus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYeah, why?\u201d replied Goku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI need to ask him something. Could you use it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat could you possibly need to ask him personally, Lord Beerus?\u201d asked Vegeta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat will be revealed in time,\u201d replied Beerus. \u201cNow, Goku, if you please.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt must be important if you of all people want to talk to him,\u201d remarked Goku as he pulled out a purple circular device with a blue button on one side and a red button on the other. Goku pressed the blue button and a being the size of a child appeared. He wore light purple and white robes with gold trim, had blue skin, and his head had purple areas on each side, framing his childish face. Right now, the being was confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHuh?\u201d he asked. \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d He looked at Goku and brightened up. \u201cOh! Hi Goku!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHi Zenny!\u201d replied Goku, using the being\u2019s nickname.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDid you want to play?\u201d asked the being, Grand Zeno. \u201cBecause, for once, I can\u2019t play. There\u2019s something called the Grouping going on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cActually, Lord Beerus wanted to ask you something,\u201d answered Goku. Beerus bowed low to Grand Zeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy apologies for distracting you from whatever work you were doing in response to the Grouping the Doctor is engaged with,\u201d said Beerus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Doctor? You mean the Time Lord known as the Doctor?\u201d asked Grand Zeno. \u201cSo they\u2019re working on the Grouping? Good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGrand Zeno, the Grouping has brought the Devourer here and-.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy do you call Kirby the Devourer?\u201d asked Grand Zeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026His appetite precedes him, my Lord. He\u2019s recently gained a Copy Ability based on the Time Lords and got the ability to speak and I overheard a conversation between him, Whis, and the Doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat was the conversation about?\u201d Beerus then told Grand Zeno everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026Bit bold of the Doctor and Kirby to say all that to an Angel,\u201d remarked Vegeta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
