Mario has been a hero of the Mushroom Kingdom for 35 years now. After Peach had invited his friends to a party in his honor, Ganondorf had a tape sent to the heroes explaining that he and the other villains were going to kidnap the Elemental Princesses, masters of water, earth, fire, and air, to use their power and conquer the universe in the name of darkness. With his friends from Hyrule, Kong Island, Popstar, the Federation, and the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario will see to it that the villains never win!
